@ROBBY639 Idk if this will help or if I'm way out in left field but stock GTP's come with cat, resonator, then mufflers. So if I understand the description right the original resonator is probably removed and the original mufflers replaced by the SLP resonators which are a type of muffler themselves. You may have figured this out by now but was just sending a reply your way.

I have to say.... Grand prix's are frickin sweet cars and I love mine to death.... But the exhaust note is extremely unique no matter what exhaust system.... I can tell the sound of a 3800 with my eyes closed.

Ugh... Just hate the fact they only come in an Auto. Grant it has a comp shift package in the GTP/GTX models. I REALLY HATE THE REV LIMITER THEY HAVE! Sounds terrible at higher than 5k rev. Yuck. I passed one of these up for an SRT-4 though. Still like them. SRT is just faster, and to me.. Sounds better.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I've been really looking at getting these but couldn't find any videos of them sounding good. (Due to everyone else not having a stock cam.) They sound just like any other aftermarket exhaust on a stock car. Cams make a HUGE difference. And this sound is exactly what I'm looking for with my cam. (5.0 Mustang, by the way)

@calistameghan just run a 3in downpipe to 3 in straight pipe all the way back. no cat, res, or mufflers and put some watercooled borla tips on it. Once it's cammed it sounds beastly.

ok i wont then what if i take all the stock exhaust out and put new piping and some mufflers will it sounds good cause i no a guy that has a machine that makes mufflers and pipes for cars

You can just cut the stock mufflers off and weld some new ones in a lot cheaper than running all new pipes. Not to mention how much easier just welding mufflers on is. It doesnt really matter what mufflers you pick cause they all do the same thing. I have magnaflows in mine and it sounds pretty good its not very loud and i have it straight piped back to them

Yes, but the stock exhaust is only 2 1/4" if I remember correctly. The best first mod you can do is a 3in dp, to remove the u-bend and cat. You'll appreciate it. If you have a 2001 or new GP, leave your rear o2 sensor installed in the downpipe, without a o2 sim so you don't have issues with cat overtemp. trust me, you NEED that rear o2 working on a 2001+

WHAT yes it matters! If you plan on keeping your car, and cutting off the original exhaust system, you BETTER go with stainless steel or you will be replacing it every year or two!

@gpgtp51 ya but if you are actually trying to make your car faster the stock exhaust restricts air flow... you need a 3inch down pipe and then go 3inch exhaust all the way back with a cat delete o2 simulator and no resonator

@95zr2kid if u got it stock try disconnecting the exhaust its got some bolts that leave it open almost at the headers expect with one really small resonator....thatll give u that straight sound i tried it on my 04 gt and ahhhh it was fucken disgusting i just did it to hear what it was it was just sum bolts but dammmm its too damm loud i couldnt drive around with it it was shaking everything!

It is TOG Xtream headers, no cat or resonator, to a SLP Loudmouth catback, with Magnaflow Tips. SLP doesn't make the Loudmouth for the grand prix anymore, and the powerflow they sell sounds nothing like this exhaust. You will have to look for a used Loudmouth I catback. I will warn you...this setup is loud!
