My dad was asked by the Thai government back in 1955 to help train officers to start a program for paratroopers. He was a Lt. Col. then [retired as a full Col.]. We left in Jan 1958 after 2 1/2 years in Bangkok. I was 7 1/2 when we went there. I loved the people and food. Wasn't too crazy about not being able to go outside until dad checked the peramiter for poisonous snakes - undil we got a pair of geese.
