  • Hey Jeannie, this came out super well!! I was wondering though, have you ever tried this on naturally curly/kinky hair? like African American hair? Does it work as well with this hair type?

    Thanks!

  • Great product, great video with a naturally beautiful model. The curl in the end looked more natural and not as processed as the "other" curly perm!

  • lmao she's a model?? wow

  • @msladybugmecca Yes, ALL my clients who agree to let us record them are models of Jeannie's Hair Company. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and is important to be on the inside too. We hired professional ones before and they were not any good at all! I would never lmao at any ones appearance because it always comes back to you. Did you ever hear the law that you get back what you give away!!! Thank you for watching,

    Jeannie Blankenship

  • that look so simple.

  • @SophiaJamaicanbeauty Yes it is very simple but there are some simple steps that is not followed, it will not last. In this video, I am simply pointing out those simple steps that one might skip because they are so simple. Attention to details is important here. Thanks for commenting and watching.

  • can this be done on REALLY long hair? like about lower back length?

  • @AllAboutTheEj Yes and it can be done easier with the spiral rods because the solution can get to the ends easier and does not have to penetrate 50 layers of hair! Thanks for watching and asking.

  • @dontyoujustluhhmeh27 Smh white people can get about any hairstyles as any race.

  • OMG DID NOT KNOW WHITE PPL GOT PERMS !!

  • @dontyoujustluhhmeh27 Oh Yes, and back in the early 80's it was a huge trend that men. women, and childred all had very curly perms and let them dry naturally.

  • Lol it's funny how people want my hairO.o I like sraight hair and they want curly hair!

  • @Yeooism Yes, So true!! That is why I stay in business.

  • @makaylanicole2017 Yes it can be used on all types of hair. This is called a Spiral Perm and the Perm Solution I used is called Arouse by Antoniou. I chose it because it is my favorite it does not damage the hair when permed over many times which is required if you let your hair get really long. As it grows you just reperm the roots and protect the ends with this Antoniou perm. Other perms I tried cannot be used without curling permed ends too much and cannot be used on bleached. Thanks

  • how long does this whole process take?

  • @kattybatty13 the whole process took us 2 1/2 hrs.

  • with a spiral perm do you need to put it in cearlers each night?

  • @dreamsofmylove No, this look never requires curlers again till you do a new perm in 6 months or so. You may roll it with curlers if you wish for a different look. I can send you a photo of what it would look like if rolled. Also you may watch another video I posted of "how to get 5 different styles from the same cut. It shows curly styled with sabico rollers. That is one of many looks you can get from rollers. This perm will look like this if dried naturally or blow dried only bit.

  • Why dont MOST salon's do this spiral perm???? So frustrating. Nobody in my area knows what this is!!! Drives me nuts!! They say Jheri Curl??? Um no.....!! What should I ask when I go to a salon?

  • My God,this is like the same concepts of a Jheri Curl.

  • I have a question. I have curly hair but if I wanted a definied curl, should I get a perm?

  • @beautiful4christ I would describe her hair as medium thickness on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 5. Also it would be average in texture, not coarse or not fine but in between. Thanks for watching and asking.

  • Hey. I have a quick question. I want a 1980's poodle perm. What kind of perm should I get and what size of rod? How long will it last? I've never had a perm despite my username. Lol. I have just always love the poofy poodle hair.

  • @salonperm A poodle perm requires the small rod which is the green flex or the blue regular rod. If you use the flex rod you must make the spiral tight. It will last 6 months or longer and if you get tired of it just take it out by reapplying solution

  • where is this salon at?

  • @shanedawsonfan583 We are in the very center of North Carolina. Thank you for asking and have some great hair days!!!

  • If I wanted larger curls what color rod would you recommend? I loved the way her hair came out.

  • @veroran Thanks so very much!! If I wanted larger curl I would use the Yellow flex all over or rotate a blue flex with a yellow for an even looser curl.

  • where can i get a perm like this?

  • @dina1016641 You can get it in the finer salons that keep up with the newest styles. Thanks for asking. If you ever come to my state, I will give you one just like this one.

  • what size were those rods??

  • @jennyfurry3 These are the green "Flex Rod" which is equivalent to the standard grey perm rod. I can control the size of the curl somewhat by increasing or decreasing the amount of spread in the spiral of hair. For example, the closer the hair in the spiral and tighter the spiral is, the curlier it is. and the looser the spiral, the looser the curl. Caution, with too big a spiral, you may have just body and not enough curl. Thanks for watching and commenting

    Jeannie

  • when i read her answers i read it in her accent -_____-

  • @LotsOfMusicInMyMind That is soo funny. I love it and I love you and your comment. You just made my day!!

    Thanks so much

    Jeannie Blankenship

  • Where are you located? Are you inCanada?

  • @canudreamon No I am not in Canada but we plan to do a hair show there next year. We are in North Carolina in the center of the state which is in the Southeastern USA. Thank you so much for asking!!

  • @antoniouship If you don't mind me asking ma'am where in NC? I'm from Fayetteville but go to school in Greensboro. I have curlyish hair because I am mixed and I am looking into doing this so the curls in my head look even

  • @akaelasudah14 Thank you for asking. We are located in Asheboro NC about 20 min South of Greensboro just take 220 bypass and we are on Fayetteville St. Call me for directions. Jeannies Hair Company 336 625 4089

  • Love it, love it, ...where can I find you????

  • I wana get a perm like that because i try to scrunch my hair o achieve those curls so i use a diffuser so i think if i get a perm like the first lady it would be easier for me to do instead of using a diffuser everyday. what cna itell my hair stylist to do?

  • @jazziepunks2OO Tell your stylist that you want a spiral perm on flex rods using a perm that will not dry your hair. If you wanr the same size curl as model in this video then use the green and yellow flex rods.If you want smaller waves or larger curls then let me know and I will tell you which color rods to use. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Great results. How long does this perm last on her hair texture?

  • i go to cosmetology school n we did that last week n i stay putting the comb down

  • does this work with black hair

  • @debria411 Yes it does but I would use a larger rod if the hair is fine and a smaller rod if the hair is coarser. I would do this with anyone though because this model has medium texture hair.

  • @debria411 but black hair is alreay curly :P

  • The result is beautiful! How long did it take to wrap her hair? How long was the whole process? Did you need more than one perm to do all those rods?

As far as price $120 sounds reasonable for a spiral. Also my guess is that you can use regular rods as well, right?

  • This makes me even more super happy to have naturally spirally hair LOL All that work, all those chemicals, all that money and time ... And no matter what this beautician is saying, repeated perms do damage hair and they rarely look very good shortly afterwards.

  • how long do perms last?

  • I like the hairdressers hair. Is that also a spiral perm?

  • @juliosammy no, thats the result of a curling iron

  • whats the difference between the clear tube rods and the flex rods?

  • does this damage the hair

  • Omg that is so gd does anyone know where i could get a spiral perm just like this in london by the end of the summer!!

  • lol Ima black girl, I would go to her to get a jheri curl done...good job

  • looks like fun! especially leaning your head back in the bowl with all those rods on. id love to try it sometime

  • okay i have a question my hair is long i mean long im 4"11 & its almost downt to my but its thick & i want a spiral perm do u recomend it also in the video you said ends will not relax like other perms what do you mean ???thanks please answer

  • Comment removed

  • i love her hair i want mine like that lol i hope mine looks like that when i get it permed but i dont know if it will cuz my hair is down to my butt so i dk how it will look

  • nICE! the music is too loud at the end of the video, cant hear what they are saying.

  • what is being sprayed on the ends??

  • I live in MIami and I am very interested in getting spiral curls.... My hair naturally has soft waves but from flat ironing it so much it is has lost it's curl and I'm tired of the straight look...Can you recommend someone that I can go to??

  • Annoying voice

  • I hope you guys charged her out the ass for all that work. And I hope she tipped you just as well.

  • @Crybaby7 Thanks so much for watching and commenting. We do have a special 1/2 price on the spiral perm now for the summer. The regular price is $120 for long hair. Do you think that sounds good or too much or not enough.? I have not compared prices in a long time and I know they vary quiet a bit depending on location.

  • @antoniouship in modesto ,ca thats about how much a stylist at a salon told me they would charge me my hair is down to my butt so it costs more

  • @antoniouship 120 is waaay to much

  • could this perm be used on medium to coarse hair?

  • @BeautyTeen95 Thanks for asking. Yes it can be used on all types of hair. In the past I used 14 different brands of perms in the salon. I had a perm for all different types of hair. This perm does not break down the cystene bond during the process so it can be used on any hair and the hair will be in better condition after the perm than before the perm. If the client tires of the perm, I can remove it and no one can tell it has been chemically processed.

  • What song was at the start?

Would someone have to switch shampoo after?

after a week or so, how do spiral perms and curly perms look different from each other?

  • @Peiazjaeh Did you like the music? It is "Somebodys watching me" by Beatfreakz. It depends on what shampoo one is using but usually I would answer no. You may continue using the same shampoo unless your shampoo is not working before for you. After a week or so both perms should look the same as they did at first. The regular perms will relax faster than the spiral because of the better rinsing and application techniques of the spiral. Also the regular perm given on this length will look....

  • @antoniouship thanks!

  • what is the hair wet with

  • i want my hair to be exactly like this, what should i ask for?

  • @KrazyGCfilms Just ask for a spiral perm and take them a photo of the style because spirals have different amounts of curl.. I can email you a photo of it if you wish. Thanks for watching and commentiing.

  • what size rods are those?

  • @GorgeousGiggles95 those are green and yellow flex rods which are equivalent to the pink and grey regular perm rods. Thanks so much for watching and asking

  • @antoniouship ur welcome :) thank u for answering my question.

  • omg, so for the longest, tell me why i thought that the girl at the very beginning of the video was christina millian! wow , she is soo pretty!

  • @TheReHABB Thanks so much!!!! That is the nicest compliment. I knew she reminded me of someone and you are right!! I posted your comment on my Jeannies Hair Co face book page!!!

  • on much longer hair, would the hair be more wavy if you used larger rods? or would it just be poofy?

  • @georgiospencer The hair would be less wavy with larger rods. The largest rod gives a S formation with an inch between the crest of the waves. The thicker the hair, the poofier it is. If hair is too thick, I would use products to control poof. I have given this kind of perm to hair that was at least 12 inches longer and the wave pattern was the same as this one. Thanks for watching and asking. Jeannie

  • how many rods did u have to use and what is the name of the perm soulution?/

  • @iluvdario1 We used 2 dozen green and a dozen yellow. The Perm is Called Antoniou Perm and is only found in salons in the south. Or you can buy at HairRepairTeam online store. Thanks for watching and asking, Jeannie

  • @iluvdario1 We used 2 doxen green and 1 dozen yellow rods. We used the ANTONIOU perm and you can only get it in salons in the South. Or you can order it online from The Hair Repair Team.

  • i want a spiral perm like that just not as tight of curls, so what do i ask for. im getting it done thursday btw. how long do you have to wait to put it up?

  • @geeknotsomuch check my perm video out i have a perm video

  • Hi...I just recently had a spiral done ( last Thursday) now its turn out dry and frizzy @ the ends. Do you have any tips on what I should use??

Iv used John Frieda Dream curls, vo5 curl scrunching spray and again John Frieda serum. I use shops own basic shampoo/conditioner cos I get very dry scalp if I use any expensive products.

  • @daisy1bell you alwasy have to have mouse in it or it will be frizzy and dry just make sure you keep something in it

  • @maegirl754 Thank you for the tip & getting back to me...x :)

  • Very pretty model with a beautiful end result, the curls were so pretty on her. Thanks for posting this very enjoyable to watch:)

  • Her hair is absolutely gorgeous! Does this perm work on any hair type?

  • when processing this perm using the two plastic bags, why didn't you cover with a setting net before placing under the dryer, that way you have less chance of them becoming seperated during processing

  • Can you make the waves bigger on this type of perm?

  • what size of rods did you use?

  • I love the narrators deep Southern draw. Its cute, and sexy at the same time. I wish we could see more of the Wella cape she was wearing, capes are cool-!!! Great model too, she looked good before, as well as after.

  • Where are you located? What kind of perming solution did you use on her hair and what kind of rods? I want to get mine done but I am terrified that it will turn out wrong! Please help!

  • @victoriaa0278 Thanks so much. We are in North Carolina and we have classes and shows in many different states. I need to start letting everyone know besides the hairdressers where we will be so ones like you could come to show and be our model when we come near you. Thanks for the idea. Maybe become friends of Jeannies Hair Co on FB where I could post classes and shows. It's an ANTONIOU Perm, and those are flex rods. Ask someone you see with perfect curl like you want, where they got it. JB

  • where in North Carolina. I live there in Winston Salem. I am in love with this perm!!!!

  • LOVE your perming videos!! It would be great to see one that's set on the shortest hair lengths if possible, please. Your stylists do such wonderful jobs; it would be worth the drive there from Nashville, you also perm men, right??

  • @cleangene Thanks so much! Thanks for the idea too. I will plan to do one on short hair next. I will do one for male and one for a female too on short hair. Thanks for such kind comments. You encourage me to do more! If you come from Nashville, we will roll out the red carpet for you!! Thanks, Jeannie

  • @antoniouship WONDERFUL!!! Thank you so much. Now I will HAVE to make a trip there.

  • is this dAmageing?

  • @Beautyismylove01 Thanks for asking. No,but it depends on what brand of perm you use. Most of the existing perms still use the same active ingredient that was used in 1936. The pH varies. Some are more acidic and some are more alkaline. I guarantee no damage whatsoever if you use the newest perm "Antoniou". If I remove the perm from the hair, you cannot tell it has ever been permed. The Amonia was just taken out for another improvement so that it is as mild as water now. Gentle !!
