this is such a beautiful arrangement. very well done! i've played this out a few times and have gotten great reviews. you are such a gifted guitar player!
Thanks! My young daughter asked me if we could play together at our Christmas banquet at church. We're both beginners so I took this and made it into a duet where she plays the melody. We made a few mistakes but turned out well.
Wow! This is the best version of silent night I have heard so far!
Such a beautiful sound from your recording :)
Actually, I am about to post a video response to your video "Deck the Halls"... I hope you can enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed your music :) Take care!
are u serious nethamius? hes not doing that for looks.. thats how u are supposed to have ur nails for classical fingerstyle guitar. i actually do the same thing myself.
the reason he doesn't cut the nails that are strumming is because it acts as a pick. And since he is strumming more than one note at a time it is imperative that you do so... other wise you won't get a solid sound from the instrument
Silent night, holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon Virgin Mother and Child Holy Infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight Glories stream from heaven afar Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ, the Saviour is born Christ, the Saviour is born
"Noche Feliz" by 31-year old schoolteacher Franz Gruber is my most cherished piece..but I prefer it played in its simplest, original form (no arpeggiation or arpeggios, ornamentation, repeats played at half-volume mp or less...). It can be made more interesting by varying the dynamics and the tempo while still maintaining a solemn mood-the song's original, spiritual intention..I played this for a buddy of mine and he let deep sigh and said: "I just melt every time you play this song"
i was trying to find what's wrong with the nails but nope.. couldn't find anything. but anyways, i think this is beautifuL! gets me all into the christmas mode! you should totally play more christmas music. good job.. i really like this.
A large number of guitarists (classical mostly) grow their nails out and shape them as necessary. As a guitar player who can't stand it when his nails get even remotely long I think this is a GREAT alternative.
hmm i don´t really know many that prefer to have natural long nails just to play guitar... I play classical guitar and I prefer to use fake nails, and i find it kind of dumb to let your nails grow, you only need the nails on the hand that you play with cause if the hand that holds chords and such has long nails they tend to get in the way and touch other strings and you would look stupid if you went out and other saw you with one hand with long nails and the other with really short ones...
I never said it wouldn't look stupid..I'm just saying..people do it, I actually know several professionals as well as recreational classical guitar players who do it...:-\

those are some weird nails on a guy.

some guitarist like using fake nails cause you get a smoother and stronger tone, it´s like having a plectrum for each finger :)
