Look at how desolate and barren the room he's in is and the slow corruption of black that over takes him. Plus his staring at the camera with such contempt as if the viewer is just a bystander watching his remorse but doesn't even help which given the cameras lack of interaction, lend's itself to pedestrian isolationism and quiet disparity. Then there's the lyrics...
