Do you mean why the image is not shaky like on a police dash cam? That's the camcorder's "hand shake reduction" image stabilizing feature, so the car appears to shake and not the outside scene. This ends up being closer to a car ride experience because our brains do stabilization all the time.

what are you using to mount your camera? it seems so steady. even over bumps like @ 2:11 your camera levels itself out.. idk if thats the software u used.. but i like it!

It's the camera's anti-shake or, as they call it, "image stabilizing" feature. It's actually closer to what we see in a car.

The scenes are mostly in San Diego, but it's no surprise if the landscape and street are similar to your place. I started doing this after a minor accident in mid-2007. My words against the other driver's, his insurance company refused to pay me. Now if this happens again, I will have evidence.

I Just started doing this,.... but your camera looks like is flows with the car.... how is the Cam mounted>?... mine is a digital camera... pretty uch like a police dashboard cam

Do you mean why the image is not shaky like on a police dash cam? That's the camcorder's "hand shake reduction" image stabilizing feature, so the car appears to shake and not the outside scene. This ends up being closer to a car ride experience because our brains do stabilization all the time.

I gotta admit Iworms, I like the idea of what you do. Never thought of doing something like this. Good vid capture of that crash too. I like how your cam pivots. And the music is perfectly fitting for this. I'm gonna watch your other vids now. Cool stuff keep it up.

Thanks, brian. Actually, the camera didn't pan. It records in widescreen. But Youtube didn't have a wide player back then, so I did the "pan and scan" during editing.

I bought a seat mount called CruiseCam. Any camcorder with a standard tripod hole can use the mount.

the dump truck took a right on red. Thats legal. Now in washington state its legal to turn Left on red when no one is around.

Right-turn-on-red is indeed legal (in California). But the truck was the key because the cars behind it probably couldn't see the light, so when it moved forward, they thought the light turned green without actually checking the light.
