liberals are more empathic, in that they believe in picturing yourself in the other persons shoes, and making decisions that considers them as well. Conservatives believe that straight rational decision making is the best way to go. The smart and rational person would take both view points into account. The true liberal or true conservative are both irrational, as not all decisions can be made solely on one of two viewpoints.
