Ok, here's the problem I have with this; Yes, out of all the absurdity, this is what got me. So when the flies and the wasps were zapped two jewels and one feather/ink bottle were made. At the end when the idol was eaten the two jewels became one bug and the one feather/ink bottle became two wings... It would've made some sense if the bugs came back with like one wing or the jewels turned into wings but it just doesn't make sense. Ah well, I suppose none of this really made any sense.

Well but true, its not correct, that one diamond turns back into only one insect. But, thats not the plot... The point is, what is richness for you? If ur greedy, u get hurt or killed by all those insects, but if feather and ink (poetry, philosophy= intellect) is more important for you, you wont get hurt. I think the idol is some kind of demon that proofs the humans whats more important for em.
