  • LOVE your videos..... thanks for sharing your learnings :-)

  • Great vid.

  • piercross you seem like a really nice guy. Such a calm and nice attitude you have. You would never expect it be looking at you. Did that attitude develop through meditation?

Would meditation help to allow me to focus on ONE thing that I am doing? -some thoughts (in particular one thought)has me thinking about it for a long time and interfering with my life.

Will it help in allowing me to focus when I need to, or want to?

  • Hi,

Meditation did change me, yes. I used to be a very much into sport and drinking - meditation made me see that I could have fun without drinking alcohol.

Meditation will help you to focus but there are other things which will help as well. Look at my website (found on my youtube homepage) and I teach lots of others things there too.

    May you be well,

    Piers

  • I totally agree. Meditation is a great alternative to booze. :)

  • Hi,

It was amazing for me to find out that I could have a much better time without alcohol than with it.

I can dance better, have more clarity, and I no longer wake with a headache at the weekends.

But each to their own - I only learned this way through experiencing what alcohol was like and then finding the alternatives.

    May you be well,

    Piers

  • Thank you for this. I've found these videos very helpful and very easy to follow. I will practice this meditation. Thank you again.

  • No problem my friend,

I am glad these videos have been of help to you.

    May you be well,

    Piers

  • Examine why people drink:

Boredom, the want of excitement - a way of escape. But it has its long term effects.

Weight gain, body odour, brain damage, body decay, shortening of life, long term illness.

Any legal alternative would appear a million times better. :)

  • i think im getting better at it now but as i stop meditating i feel as if i've just woken up and tired but at the same time i feel happy. Is this how your ment to feel after??

    Thanks, Will

  • Hi Will,

Each day you will probably feel different. Just keep letting go. If you feel good, good. If you feel tired, good. Whatever you feel just let go.

It's wonderful that you are keeping the practice going. Well done!

    May you be well,

    Piers

  • hello,i am new to meditation and would like to know a bit more about body posture. is it neccesary to have these "special" pillows to sit on while meditating? also,i have seen some keep the eyes open to a comfortable position. i think this would be somewhat distracting. any information would be greatly appreciated. i am going to start my meditation for the first time before bed tonite.thank you very much.

  • i gave it a try and my eyes kept opening a tiny bit then i would think of other things, but i continued with it and at the end i feel no different just really tired. Is there anything else i can do or do i have to keep trying??

    Will

  • Hi Will,

It is okay for the eyes to open - I went through a phase of that - probably several months. Just keep persevering - eyes open, eyes closed, lots of thoughts, no thoughts - all of this is okay.

    Just breathe and keep practising.

    May you be well

    Piers

  • meditation is a hindu concept...for god's sake stop crediting everything to budhism (for those who don't know- all of budhisms ideas are from hinduism)

  • He has been learning meditation from Buddhist's, so just chill out. That's how he knows it, that's how hes going to teach it.

  • Thanks for this i really enjoyed it, its a first for me i followed the instructions and couldn't stop smiling.

  • Really glad you enjoyed it and great to hear that it made you smile - meditation is great for that!

    May you be well,

    Piers

  • your voice is so lovely to listen to. it helps to relax, heh.

i've found this so useful before going to sleep. i'm one of those people that can't turn my thoughts off so it takes a while to go to sleep.

  • Thanks Rolla,

I am just editing some children's stories that I recorded over the past year. I find that the children always fall asleep when I record them.

I have also done lots of visualisations for sleep which I listen to to help me sleep.

I also find meditating really wonderful for having a great night's sleep.

May you be well and sleep well too!

    Piers

  • ahh I love this. My teacher always talks about mind body and peace. She always meditates during her breaks in school and tells me about it. She has me interested in it. Shes one of the nicest people I have ever known. And I always wanted that. I try to relax but I never can..im always thinking about past memories from yesterday or years ago and just..cant. I guess if I keep practicing I will eventually get peace of mind.

  • Your video is a great help. :)

  • Hello,

Thank you for your gracious words. Meditation is challenging at the start because our minds are everywhere but on the breath.

But remember this is the same for everyone, so be patient and kind. You are doing wonderfully well.

    With blessings,

    Piers

  • at the beginning of your 1st video on meditation I was pissed off how slowly you talked even though I was in no hurry, but then it got really relaxing, at the 2nd video I started following instructions and when those 7:37 min ended i felt like I was relaxing for about half an hour, or like I just woke up from a refreshing good night's sleep. so thank you.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your comment. It makes really good feedback what you say. It's amazing how quickly our minds race along but when we challenge this momentum it brings about a lot of peace.

I hope you keep your practise going.

    With kindness,

    Piers

  • Thank you for your teaching - it is very thoughtful and practical. I have a quick question for you; does listening to music while mediating serve more as a distraction or enhancement? I was thinking about trying it out. Thanks again for all of your kindness and effort.

  • Hi BrianTheLotus,

Thanks you. In answer to your question I think that it depends on personal preference.

I think that music can really help in meditation if it is conducive to bringing more peace and stillness.

But for me there is something about meditation in silence.

There is so much 'noise' around us at all times in the day that by listening to the 'silence' we can really find a true depth within us. In silence, we return 'home' so to speak.

I hope this helps, With kindness, Piers

  • thanks a lot :)

  • keep it up piers. Great work.
