  • peeping eye reminds me of suezo from monster rancher advance

  • I like how you pronounce things =3 Like Ecclesia as Ecklesia and Dracula as Dracalah lol

  • mister spoiler 2010 ;[

  • if they ever make a 100 dollar coin it should look just like a penny so that only people who actually look at change and stuff can get it

  • Honestly, as a castlevania fan, Curse of darkness loses it's luster pretty quickly. same with lament of innocence, IMO. Castlevania was just not meant for the 3rd dimension

  • Just downloaded the emulator version for this game, LOVE IT. Competing right now with Symphony of the Night for my fave Castlevania game.

  • Oh, yesss. I remember this one, though I've never played it. But I do have an awesome memory of it. My brother-in-law was playing this with his GBA adapter for the Gamecube, and I remember him walking into a large room where a huge bat appeared... only to be crushed inside a giant human hand! Next thing I knew, he was having it out with this bigass one eyed dude in the background. We affectionately nicknamed this giant "Bubba Dracula".

  • That being said, I will eagerly await you to announce doing a playthrough of Aria of Sorrow. :)

  • @MasamuneZenith That's Balore. And he is a MOTHER FUCKER to beat... His gigantic fists make me cry to this day. T-T

  • what's your favorite soul?

  • i keep it simple. axe knight

  • that's a nice soul. i still prefer the disc armor though

  • Even people who aren't particularly interested in Castlevania still state how phenomenal this masterpiece is. If you don't like Aria of Sorrow then there's something wrong with you.

  • Funny thing, I was at Gamestop about a week ago, and I saw a copy of Aria of Sorrow for $18. I didn't pick it up, however, because I noticed something rather queer about the cartridge: It was merely the 'Lament of Innocence' on a GBA catridge, with an almost invisible "Aria of Sorrow" subtitle. I'm up visiting my cousin now, and I bought a copy of Aria of Sorrow, with the real cartridge art for $15. I'm looking forward to telling the cashiers at the Gamestop near me that they've been scammed.

  • definitely sounds like a bootleg

they're not too sharp at gamestop

  • At least not the ones working that day. I asked them if they had Harmony of Dissonance, and they just said, "Here, we'll unlock the GBA cases so you can look through them." Then they went back to the counter. Funny thing, the guy at the Gamestop near my cousin's said that they frequently get bootlegs. That being, there actually have been cases where I've gotten suburb service at Gamestop, most notably when I bought 'Lament of Innocence".

  • not sure what you mean by suburb service....

if you ever see harmony and aria on the same cart, get that, it's damn rare.

  • OH SHI-

    I meant "superb". Heh.

  • @NecroVMX i have Harmony and Aria on the same Cartridge. i never take it out and i only played and beat both games once.

  • omg!!! i seriously miss this game!

i love this game since i was 11!

    still loving it till now

but too but my gameboy spoiled

and its really hard to find a game boy now

hope they have the exact one for psp!

  • get a DS and play it on that, no one in their right mind owns a PSP.

as a matter of fact if you put this game in the GBA slot of the DS and play the sequel, Dawn of Sorrow you'll start with an extra item.

  • hehe, more comments!!! if you still don't have a CoD (curse of darkness) i can donate one of my copies to you. the CD has some scratches because i let people borrow it, but otherwise it works great. its the PS2 version

  • Thanks, but i found a copy since making this video

  • wow, i have commented on way to many of your videos today..lol, sorry.

but this was my 1st CV and certainly my favorite! I just played SotN and it is WAY to easy!

  • Hey Necro, what's the name of the GBA emulator you use?

  • Visual Boy Advance

  • LEVEL THE FUCK UP! lol

  • I was wondering about your metroidvania playthroughs - are you just going to play enough to get through the games? Or are you going to try to go for high map-percentage?

  • i'm going to try do as much as i can reasonably. for example, i'll probably fill in the map in AoS but won't try and get every single soul

  • The only bad thing about AoS is replaying it. You're determined to get AL the souls next time around ant it takes FOREVER. :P

This one's easily in my Top 5 Castlevanias. Helps that Soma Cruz is one of the few characters in the series I give a shit about.

  • Soma's the man, he's my favorite non-belmont character

  • He sure fucking is. Wish that NECA company included him in that Castlevania action figure line.

I think in some of my old AVGN-ish vids, you can see the Alucard figure in the background, as well as the NP poster for this game. Yes, I'm that much of a geek. :P

  • Quality > Quantity

  • Did you seriously just spam me?

  • To an extent... but i found it funny =P

  • Well, don't do that please.

  • I could type in random questions if that would make you feel better. It would be totally off topic but it wouldn't be considered spam since i didnt copy and paste it

  • I'd prefer you do neither and put thought into comments.

  • My bad then )=

  • AoS and DoS are probably my least-favorite GBA/DS games. The soul system just never really grabbed my interest. And AoS is WAY too easy (even easier than HoD, in my opinion).

It's nice to hear that you have such a high opinion of PoR. PoR is a very underrated game, and I'll never understand why. As for OoE, its difficulty is just right by default, although the enemy drops are rather lacking. I would've liked to have seen a greater variety of attack types from the glyphs, though.

  • Don't get me wrong, I love the first two GBA Castlevania's, but the quality of this one almost makes it look like they were made by mistake.

Probably the best story in a Castlevania game too at least in my opinion.

  • lv the fuck up, yeah!

  • I love this game, it rules. in my top ten list for sure.

  • the game looks good, but set in the future just doesnt seem castlevaniaee to me

  • It doesn't beat you over the head with it, you'd have to be told it takes place in 2035 honestly.
