  • where my SW DC. folk i know yall remember the days seeing all the good GO GO bands at Cherries. and don't say Cherries was in SE. because it was on the SW. side of south capitol street. and i from the south east side alabama ave. but Cherries had it going on. also where all my metro DC. folk that an remember the GO GO bands down at Wilmers Park.

  • You know what makes this song is White Boy and his Chuck Brown scrach on the guitar. That scrach at the beggining of the song is sick.

  • @trenillo I agree 100%. As a youngster I had no idea that scratch was done by a guitar, I used to think it was a percussion instrument that created that sound.

  • Boy listening to that old Essence sure sounded good. Reminded me of my old "but naked", "hinkley" days where I was "stuck" for hours at the Coliseum, black hole, maverick room, Howard Theatre to name a few. Thank God I changed- KOKOA

  • Hey I remember that R.E. also recorded the "One On One" back when this record came out. But I don't think they ever released it, but an unofficial copy hit the street. Man that joint was tight. Anybody got a copy of that joint? It would really take a brother back.
