  • Man I wish as strong as Suh, although i dont think i was born to bench press. The best ive ever done was 250 in 3 reps and that was 6 months back. Im pretty sure if i went back and tried it out, i would not be as close. I do push ups though on occasion just so i wouldn't lose all my strength but when you have a busy life, its tough to hit the weights on a daily basis and i aint getting any younger.

If they really want to make it somewhat transferable, they should be test the atheletes max in relativity to their bodyweight. To be honest, bench should not be a test in the combine at all. How about some fuckin squat huh? Powerclean? Hell if you're going to consider bench a test, you might as well call the bicep girl a test of power,strength..

  • I personally don't see how a football player benching for a lot of reps is useful. A typical play in the NFL is over in like 5 seconds. So why train for something longer then that? Of course this can alter depending on position too

  • @AirJordan337 you train for more than the typical "5 second play" for a couple reasons.....its never bad to be better than whats needed......makes it so the 5 seconds at a time is easier than what your doing in training so you can push yourself harder during the game, and in case the avg. play time in an up coming game ends up being say 9 seconds instead

    its all just to be prepared for anything that may happen

Just about every snap a Defensive Tackle like this guy would come off the line with their hands in front of them before they even think about what to do next. Leg power and arm power go hand in hand when bull rushing a guard or trying to club and rip through a pass protection.

  • Ndamukong is hella strong...but his supreme advantage over offensive lineman are his foot speed, foot work, balance, and hand placement at the line of scrimmage. He has superior skills and technique that far outweigh his weight room strength. Suh being strong is just a bonus IMO.
