why would you flop from the fringe? its a risky shot and should only be played if you need to stop the ball quick like if your chipping over a bunker with no room to work with, just sayin

these are called lob shots, flop shots are full swings but still nice shots personally prefer to run the ball on the green a little still nice tutorial though

most important thing for a flop shot is that you take a club with high bounce,

flop shots are actually ment to be hit similar to bunker where you enter the ground just before the ball

and the best technique is to hinge the wrists very early and maintain that hinge through the shot, known as the 'hinge and hold'

not a great idea to keep the elbow straight IMO, could lead to some thin shots

a flop is a very low percentage shot. its more for if ur behind a hazard. your way better off doing a bump and run from the fringe. with either a 7,8,or 9 iron.

nice tutorial but a flop shot is generally used when you have to get over a hazard and there isnt much room between the edge of the green and the pin

they are also easier in fluffy lies as you can slide the club underneath the ball rather than risking thinning it which can happen from a tight lie

cool vid but around the green you want to get the ball rolling on the ground as soon as possible...a flop shot is used to get it up in the air and stop quickly...bump and run might be better from the fringe
