I live in Malaysia. My dad and his friends usually go hunting for Flying Fox and cook them. They taste better than anything when u cook them spicy.

I've done research on bats in Peru, and it is not a good idea to eat them. Many carry diseases that are not apparent just by looking at them, and most have large amounts of body parasites, so they are not very clean animals to eat. You could argue that pigs and cows in a slaughterhouse are just as bad - and you'd be right - but bats are not good for human consumption simply because they are so unpredictably disease-ridden.
