Ahaha, that's really cool. I gave my girls their first bath (They're about 5-6 months old) in shallow warm water and they HATED it, I've got awful scratches up my arms where they've tried desperately to climb up. But after drying them, they smelled so lovely and were so soft! I didn't even use any shampoo. I will definitely give them another bath in a few weeks, despite being scratched to death... :)
omg my rats hate being bathed too and WilliamTheSlayer your anidiot its unhealthy to not bath your rats dont hand out shitty information to people when you dont know what your talkin about its people like you who abuse animals
Uhm, I'm surely not abusing animals. Rats don't need baths to be healthy, and I'm takin my guys to the vet regulary, so I know they're healthy. My opinion is the same opinion every single vet I ever went to has, but if you don't agree, it's no need to call me an idiot, okay? Relax, I love my rats and I do everything to make em happy, so don't insult me that way, I'd never ever abuse an animal.
My god, my rats HATE baths! I have scratches from a bath that they got over a week ago, tryint to climb out on my arms. Lani just tries to jump out, while Zenna poops and squeaks/screams about the water. Little sillies.
Uhm... your rats don't clean themselves? ^^;;; Honestly? My guys spend half of the day cleaning themselves, and that's normal for rats. We're talkin about the same kind of animals, do we?
Don't forget, if you want rats be prepared to get 2 as rats are social creatures, and it would be cruel to keep just 1, there are rare cases in which they happily live alone but may go into depression if they are bought, and kept alone. They can also dislocate their skulls (I think its rats) to escape, so keep them bars and cage locked up good! Sadly my dads scared of rats and i'm not allowed one she looks like she enjoyed her bath :) Do you currently own any rats?
my rat used to do that when he was alive and when it came to drying his belly i used to lay him on his back and he'd stay there till i stopped drying him he loved it lol i miss him so much
usualy rats need a bigger cage and you can get a cheeap cage that hooks up to a 10 gallon aquariam tank if you have one or you can make one out of a wire
So adorable :)

My husband had some rats before but couldn't believe that both of our rats just LOVE taking bath and keep falling a sleep when i bathed them.

Many rats are scared of water. If your rat doesn't like baths, don't bath her. Rats really don't need baths, they clean themselves all the time.
WilliamTheSlayer 3 years ago
your "rats" appear to be "cats" sir sherlock.
rats dont clean themselves, they would get sick, and they need to be given a bath in warm SHALLOW water.
:v
