  • Enjoyed your version of The End, sounded sweet

  • play this with a fuzz pedal

  • 2:35 Behind The Sun - RHCP

  • I'm sorry for that last comment, I posted it only after listening to Andy's demo in the beginning.

  • Where these guitars fail is that that limit how many notes you can bend. On a sitar some players can bend notes to create that Indian sound.

  • I'd be curious to hear how this sounds with a chorus pedal. Must check my local stores and try one although I haven't seen any locally so far.

  • you should have played black mountain side by led zeppelin

i bet it would sound awsome on this

  • 3:35 is amazing

  • Andy! Thank you, for playing Behind The Sun! What a great song :-D

  • Yea Im also with that guy who wants to see a detailed review of the italia mondial for the same reason that ther arent any good reviews on YouTube!

  • Is it tuned the same as a regular guitar?

  • Andy what is your source for learning the music to all these songs? Surely you don't figure them all out by ear...

  • @reallifereportage i'm sure he does.

  • Amazing sound greatest cover ever of this classic

  • amazing guitar!

    hey i have few questions

    1. if i live in israel and i want to order this guitar from your shop how is it possible to make it?

    2. lets say i ahve this guitar, what strings do i need to use for it?

    3. when i need to setup this guitar? can a regular setupist fix this guitar or he wouldnt know what to do?

  • @jajaja12 Hello,

    Yes, we ship worldwide!

The Modena Sitar uses regular guitar strings for the 6 string portion and uses .10 gauge for the mini harp. Any qualified tech should be able to set up this guitar.

You can add to cart for our shipping rates. Thank you,

    PGS

  • Where would I buy harp strings? o.O

  • Sitar Rig 5

  • My only friend the end

  • sure , its a fun pedal

but how many times will you actually use this on a gig?

  • @96FenderTele It's not a pedal, it's a guitar.

  • i would just love to hear that thing with a distortion just for the fun of it :DD (though it would probably have a really shitty and mushy sound)

  • BLUEJAY WAY! No way!

  • Dw Paint it black, i remembered as soon as I posted that comment...

  • Really really cool instrument, but why not just buy a sitar?

  • What is that at the start? Pardon my ignorance!

  • @gkb911 Paint it black, by the Rolling stones

  • What would happen if you put this through an EHX Ravish Sitar?

  • @JohnRegular180 Awesomeness,

just a straight up smack in the face of awesome.

  • @JohnRegular180 you die.

  • @JohnRegular180 It would shatter the universe, you fool!

  • @JohnRegular180 Death to all mankind :)

  • Behind The Sun *w*

  • Andy!!!!!

  • Haha Andy.. now you need an electric Oud and you'll be all set. ProOudShop

  • Hello?

  • Andy could staple a rubber-band to a beer can and I would want one after hearing him play it! Andy RULES!

  • BEHIND THE SUN!

  • ProSitarShop, right?

  • im confused, do the sympathetic strings just magically ring out?

  • @secretagentYTer the sympathetic strings vibrate with the guitar body when it is played.

  • @secretagentYTer On a sitar, the sympathetic strings resonate with the tones played on the main strings, hence the name "sympathetic."

  • @secretagentYTer It's a part of the physics of vibration. When the air near a string vibrates at the same frequency it is tuned to, it will begin vibrating as well. In a traditional sitar, these strings run underneath the strings actually played. They are a big part (though not all) of that distinctive sitar tone.

Sympathetic vibrations are really important for many instruments. They can be something to worry about, or they can be used to great effect.

  • man i would love to hear a demo of this is b tuning....with a bluesky rv5 elcap carbon copy and a volumepedal

  • the end, epic rendition andy

  • great review.can you review the EKO Guitars 295

  • BEHIND THE SUN!!!! Old school Chilis!!!! I was talking to somebody on Facebook and listening to this, and when I suddenly realized what Andy was playing, I flipped out!!!!

  • what happens if you break a string? You need to buy some expensive string pack specific to electric sitars?

  • Changing the strings on that would suck something awful

  • Is it bad that my regular guitar sounds Ike that? Time for a tune up :)

  • @fgonzalezb1990 only if you can make it... i'd think this would go better with mod. effects and delay and probably reverb especially.

  • Old school red hot chili peppers!

  • i was feeling there would have been some white summer/black mountainside thrown in there :-)

  • Aww

    How sympathetic

  • Adoraria um brinquedo desses de natal :D

  • ...Did I hear Andy stray into Killing an Arab at the end of the intro?

  • @Baconfish That was "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica...

  • @Baconfish that's the end of "Paint it Black". It IS similar though! Would be great to see Andy do some old Cure...

  • @Baconfish that's the end of "Paint it Black". It IS similar though! Would be great to see Andy do some old Cure...

  • Changing strings must be a pain int the you know what....

  • @fgonzalezb1990 Probably not lol

  • Seriously Groovie!

  • I bet it sounds best in open C.

  • Behind the sun!!

  • i LOVE stores like PGS - they don't care that their stock isn't 'the norm' in an age where names like Gibson and Fender (not that they're bad names) dominate the scene.

  • Dear Santa......!!!!!

  • Great demo.

  • You love this job, don't you Andy?

  • Well that is just f*cking awesome.

  • so awesome!

  • What kind of strings does the mini-harp use?

  • @SideshowBob180 high E strings - 9s or 10s your choice.

  • George? Ravi ? Andy? who are you??? That is the coolest guitar ever Great playin.

  • Comment removed

  • Imagine this with some sort of vibrato tailpiece. Hmm...

  • Awesooome!

  • Wherever I May Roam 1:17 :D METALLICA

  • can you also play it without the Sympathetic strings? (make it sound as a regular guitar)

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 My guess would be that you simply turn down the volume control for that pickup.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 You can turn that pickup off.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 Its the bridge, so probably not

  • Comment removed

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 It would still sound like an "electric -sitar" because of the buzz bridge, you can't turn that off! The symp. strongs just add some background harmony.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 No, The sitar sound comes from the bridge, instead of being as sharp as possible as on a guitar, A sitar bridge is as flat as possible so that the string touches it as it vibrates creating a buzzing sound, on an electric model it doesn't vibrate very well so the sympathetic strings aren't very useful.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 why would you want to?

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 You could probably put something on top of the strings to stop them from ringing out, like tape.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 At 2:00 he says "... leave the sympathetic strings on..." I don't think he would say that if you couldn't turn them off.

  • @RobbyWheelerGuitar the pickup turns off, of course. However, the strings will still resonate.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 You'll still get the ringing sound of the strings, regardless though. Unless you stop them from ringing, of course.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 I'd imagine so, just turn the pickup volume for them all the way down.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 The sympathetic strings aren't what make it sound like a sitar, it's the bridge on the normal guitar side. The sympathetic strings are those harp sounding ones.

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 Why would you want it to sound like a regular guitar? The whole point is to sound like a sitar

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 you'd have to change the bridge. The bridge is designed to make the strings buzz.

  • I want Citar Hero to be released on the PS3!

  • This is so killer!

  • Ok PGS I appreciate this and everything you guys do but can you please stop the waiting and just demo the Chicagoan please?
