i can´t seem to understand how a group can claim to be fighting for freedom, whilst at the same time they kidnap people and keep them in captivity for years? sad sad people...
So what, DY142? It's legitimate, it's smart and it's human to gain popularity in such a way, and not by destroying countries to "hunt for terrorists". Chavez is a politician, and he has to be one in order to fight for what he stands for. You just don't like Chavez or you're as touchy with Chavez's political enemies? Hope you don't imagine their deeds are inspired by unselfish sacrifice for the love of humanity.
actually im venezuelan, and he could free them because hes got good relationships with FARC, and they are just terrorist. it was a good idea free them but why did he free them 2?? there are venezuelan abducted too
FARC stands for Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia. And for those of you who think this is funny, let me tell you it's not. And you guys better not joke about this; we're talking about humans, people who have been taken away from their loved ones for a long period of time. So think before you write, unless of course you've have some experience; otherwise resist the desire to post it in here.
You jerk, at least they are fighting for their country. Our soldiers are fighting and being killed in a dirty war in Irak based on lies by the stupid president you elected. By the way I am a Korean war vet. with a grandson in Irak. I know what I am talking about.
I'm glad Hugo chavez is doing postive things in south america unlike the CIA supporting death squads for the past 60 years and overthrowing eletced leaders.

Wow! The hostage kissed her captor goodbye! This is the first time I've seen anything like that.

Congratulations to President Hugo Chavez for successfully negotiating the release of these two hostages!

FARC. I believe that the C stands for Colombia. It does sound funny though.
