  • oscars are my favorite fish of all time

  • try some dither fish - like giant danios or rosey barbs etc and a few plants - plastic with an oscar - and some bog wood

  • How big is your tank?

  • Y u got that jack dempsey in there... -.-"

  • nice fish but very dull and boreing 2/3*'s

  • how are those two getting along?

  • They are both Cichlids! o__O

  • Hey I got an oscar a month ago and its in a 25 gallon tank but he is only 5 in long but eventually I'm going to put him in a 55 gallon tank but that is not my problem I have a air pump, perfect temp, perfect ph, plants, a filter, and a light. My problem is that I've had this fish for a month and everytime he sees me in the room he goes straight to the bottom and plays dead what can I do for him to stop that?

  • oscars are notorious for "pouting" they do this when they get upset about anything really. it could be you added a new fish to you moved a plant and they didnt like it. I have 2 tiger oscars and if i so much as put my hand in to adjust a plant, they both get very pissy and will lay at the bottom and pout about it. dont worry, its normal

  • hrmm try hand feeding? or by using tongs or something?

  • as much as i HATE oscars i have to say they are smart.maybe it hates you.maybe its just shy and needs to adjust to its new enviroment because its still in shock

  • hhaha

  • hey every body check my oscars out and tell me if they have enough space

    (latest vid)

  • If these are how most oscars are, mine must have been mentally challenged..it alwasy used to dart really fast into the glass..

  • Why don't you post videos anymore?

  • That Oscar is gorgious!

    What's her name?

  • Nice colour on this oscar. One of the best i ever seen.

  • mint lukin fish

  • Beautiful fish. Nice clean tank! 5 Stars

  • mine are like half that size

  • strange fish

  • Nice colours :)

  • haha I had a oscar like that and it eat all my fhish:P it was like 1000 cash in fish dere:P

  • Wow nice tiger oscar got bright colours for some reson my tiger oscar keeps pooping any tips why T_T

  • get used to it, they're poop machines.

  • feed it stuff with carotene like shrimp to bring out the orange

    idk y its pooping

  • nice fish keep feeding him good stuff with color enhancer and when he gets really big he will still be really colorfu

  • That is a beautiful Fish!!!

  • is it true that fish only grow as big as the surrounding? or is that only for goldfish?

do tank demension effect on how many fish i could keep? lets say i get a 120 gal hexagon tank (you know those tall long ones?)could that tank still be able to hold 2 oscars or not?

  • you would definantly be able to have two oscars! you could have many others too. cool interesting fish that you would probably like are bichirs, iridescent/paroon shark, and other ciclids.

  • yeah thats tru but onli if bought from very very young

  • wow, you really have a nice fish!

  • i think a 55 is good for one big Oscar only one and no other tank mates.

  • That's a gorgeous tiger oscar.

  • I have a 30 gallon tank, could I get 2 small oscars for it?

  • 30g way too small for even one oscar, much less two. Oscars grow very rapidly if well fed and can outgrow a 55g tank in 1 to 2 years.

  • i dont know if that is true... i have two osacars, firemouth, jack, convict, gourami, bubble bee cichlid, and a green terror on my 30 gallon

  • min 55 g for an oscar and plus 15 g for each additional one. 30 g is really way too small for that many fish.

  • WOW... Mines doing fine in a 20 gallon. Its 6 inches now and its doing great.

  • so many can i hav in a 180g if i keep them for their whole life?

  • so many can i hav in a 180g if i keep them for their whole life?

  • Zaracki in a US 180gal tank you can easily have 4 to 6 (easier to manage in pairs) full grown Oscars. Of course you'd still want good filtration simply because Oscars are messy little shits. But a 180gal tank is pretty dang big.

  • i agree with you. i have kept oscars in a 10 gallon tank and they did fine. it just outgrew it and i just sold it. my friend had 1 in a 10 gal that it lived for almost 12 years!

  • the only problem with that is that oscars dont stay small they grow very fast

  • Rocks! (all i could say..)

  • damn that's a handsome Oscar

  • how many gallons is that

  • 110

  • how old where they before they reached there large size

  • ~4 yrs and she's still growing.

  • Hi, nice looking Oscar. How big is it as its hard to gauge.

  • i got a question...if you had a female tiger oscar, will it lay eggs, even tho a male isn't around...like shooting blanks?

  • yes

  • so i must have a male tiger oscar...yeah...

  • I had a Tiger Oscar die on me this morning! >=( I've had it for about two weeks or so, and then it suddenly stopped eating for a few days, and died this morning.

  • ur oscar look very cool !u let him eat what ?

  • Nice Oscar

  • how do you know its a female?

  • She laid eggs couple of times.

  • so the female will shoot like blank eggs out, even though there is no male around?

  • hay how to enhance the colors of oscars .... bcoz ur one is red and mine is towards on orangish shade ... any suggestions

  • Yours is a Red Oscar, mine is a Tiger Oscar. That's why the coloring is different.

  • veryyyy nice tank and do jack dempckseys eat live fish???my doesnt..

  • I don't feed mine live fish. Feeder fish has no nutritional value and the fish can get sick.

  • you are correct, especially goldfish, they are coldwater so high in fat ... will give your O fatty liver disease. Mollies aren't so bad, but pellets should always be the main diet, and most treats you buy at the store are infused with multi-vitamins!

  • Well taken care of, the fish has a nice color. Boy what a rough life it has Haa Haa ! I was into raising large fish once, you pretty much have to act as mother nature to keep them healthy. You have a very beautiful tank. The water is so crystal clear, what type of filtration do you use ? Did you raise it from a baby ?

  • I use two Emperor 400's for filtration, and a Aquaclear 802 powerhead for surface agitation and water movement in the tank. Yes, when I bought her, she was like 1 inch. It's been almost 4 years.
