You are guaranteed certain Human Rights, you are not equal under the law if you are not a citizen, you are not a "PEER". You can not ever sit on a Jury because of such, so no, you do not have equal rights of protection since you do not have the same responsibility of a citizen to sit on a Jury or perform other duties as required of citizens.

All American law is based off of English Common law, the Magna Carta was a previous legal document that gave rights to the Nobility of England. The commoners at that time didn't have rights. They set up a system of peerage and jury trials, which is where all of our rights stem from, for a Jury can overturn corrupt law in court.

  • The reason the constitution never mentioned that the rights are offered to citizens is because the constitution only applies to legal residents of the united states. The constitution doesn't mean anything at all in another country, and doesn't have any affect at all on a citizen of another country, if you feel we should offer all people the same rights we have under the constitution that means you support America forcing our ideals and our constitution on other countries.

  • @phuturephunk Well, i'm only 19 so i can't tell you what has changed in 10 years out of my own experience, but i know this, white males are something like 3% less likely to get into a university than an equally qualified black woman. Idk if the 3% is up to date, but that's how it was in 2009 when i was appling for college. You are more likely to get a government job if you're a minority than a white man, plus look at alimony law, that's so beyond sexist it's hard to accept that it's real.

    I want a concrete example where you, as a white male, were singled out because of your whiteness and treated unfairly due to a law specifically targeting you (as in the wording makes it clear, under no uncertain terms, that your specific race/gender combination are the target).

    I'll save you time and say you're not going to find one.

You want a law specifically designated to favor woman, alimony law. You want a law that specifically favors minorities, welfare and other social programs. Other examples of how government funding is used in a bias against white men, black women are ten times more likely to recieve a pell grant when they apply than a white man is.

  • @phuturephunk Something is not written clearly in a law that doesn't mean that the law doesn't have the effect of discrimination. As to pell grants, my sister was claimed under my mom who has no income, and was denied twice for a pell grant, yet my mexican girlfriends younger sister who was claimed under her dad while he was making over 100k a year and she got a max grant. Alimony law is actually written to favor women, at least in California.

  • @phuturephunk Also, here's a true story about my dad, he graduated from the police academy at the top of his class sometime in the mid 80's and applied to the LA police department along with a black girl who barely graduated and the third or fourth ranked guy from his class, neither of the well qualified white guys got the job but the barely qualified black woman did. I could go on with other stories, but it's pointless. The fact is that even though affirmative action is illegal it hasn't ended.

  • @justiceforpoets Yes, because a few judges say the Constitution means something that obviously means it's true. You probably think that judicial review is also constitutional. If you don't know how to literally interprete the Constitution then there is no need to reply.

    As to the quote, if that were entirely true then we should allow illegal aliens to vote, because that is an unalienable right offered to citizens by the Constitution.

  • @justiceforpoets There is no reason to assume that what was written 200 years ago doesn't apply now. Literal interpretation or no Constitution, those are the only options. Look at the Bible, since you brought it up, there are hundreds of different interpretations and that leads to vastly different ideals because people think it means anything other than what it said. Unless it is said that something is a parable or a story in the bible, a real believer should assume it happened.

Since it also says in the bible that a man can't look at gods face without being changed it stands to reason that the burning bush was a proxy for god so that he could directly communicate with moses, unless you think that is beyond gods power, in which case you have no reason to be bringing the bible up because you are obviously not a Christian and will pull the same move every athiest tries when facing someone smarter than them.

  • The Constitution refers to "the people..." in the Fourth Amendment (and other places) with respect to unreasonable searches and seizures. There are some judges (though nothing binding) who theorize that there's a difference between rights for "the people" and those for any "person" identified in the Constitution. The DOJ believes that the 4th Amendment covers illegal aliens so it's unlikely that any court will draw a distinction. In any event, Palin is ignorant.
