I discovered Bon Jovi as a teenager in the mind 90's, with this song being one of my favorites. The dark side of this song encouraged me to seek darker realms, first venturing into classic new metal and ultimately black metal. At 25 today I appreciate Bon Jovi very much and my favorite genre has settled into some kind of progressive, dark heavy metal mix.

These Days is one of the most brilliantly written/recorded albums ever made.The one thing I admired about 80's icons Bon Jovi and Def Leppard and even a band like Warrant was they made a fresh new different style of music in the 90's than they did in the 80's.Motley Crue did try it as well with 2 albums that alot of their fans hate,but I think were great.

Saw Bon Jovi at Milton keynes in 1996 and they played this song live. It was awesome! I think they played about 10 songs from this album at that show, which was pretty good as I loved "These Days".

I think this is up there as one of Bon Jovi's greatest songs. These Days was the band's least commercially successful album, but a lot of fans rate it as their best. And the tour that supported it wasn't too bad either!! Anyone remember the circus stage?
