  • the whipped top of a lava tube is created... well lava is very viscous and it drips like goo... so the top is created by drips offs solidifing when cooling.

  • I was amazed by that rocky "beach" more than I was amused, but in retrospect, it is kind of funny. There was all this black lava rock, then the white crushed coral sand, and then the sterotypical coconut palm trees - BUT NO water! Well, the water is off-camera to the left.
