  • 5:47 - 5:48, I thought everything was wasted. Wok turned over. LOL

  • What is Shao Hsing Wine?

  • uhm I think something is missing. After you prepared the sauce, do you dip the shrimps in the sauce? Then put the oil in the pan, heat it and then put the shrimps in it…

  • wow! that looks easy and GREAT!!! I will be sure to try it.

  • @one2trynewthings Thank you :)

  • i like stir fry but i am starting to be more concenred now about the amount of oil. I am trying to stop frying food. YOU can actually stir fry using water instead i have tried it

  • @210482fmj I've never heard of that - that sounds like a great idea - I'll have to try it - thank you so much for sharing :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy only use about a tablespoon at a time. Use hot water from a kettle. Get the timeings right with stuff that is sticky like chicken breast. Experiment with the amount of salt or soy sauce used also as using water waters the salt down but it evaporates very quickly

  • @210482fmj Thank you - I'll definitely be trying this soon :)

  • Be my personal chef! =o

  • Im NOT really a big fan on bell peppers but does it has to be with bell peppers? Like can you substitute it with something else instead???

  • @SuperPanda345 You can basically use any vegetables that you like. Carrots and either bok choy or celery sliced into strips would be good as well :)

  • Hi amy....

  • You remind me of a character Bill lumbourgh of the movie Office Space.

  • Just GO AHEAD!

  • nice hands..

  • @fsfsto i agree. lovely fingers.

  • how to make chicken stock? or chicken cube/broth can be used as well?

  • @hersheyliciousss You can use either the chicken broth in the box - like Swansons - or the cube as well :)

  • Can i replace the wine with something else ?

  • @dbsknada Hi - For this recipe you can use a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of rice vinegar and water to substitute the wine :)

  • hello, I want will it be okay to use precooked shrimp?

  • @virgoqueen27 Yes - you can just add them in at the end. There will be a slight difference in flavor and texture from skipping the marinade, but It will still make a tasty dish :)

  • Looks delicious and very professional. I think I will go ahead and drive to the grocery, go ahead and buy the ingredients, go ahead and come back home, go ahead and cook this, and go ahead and eat it.

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Sea Salt is a much better use then iodized table salt ...Much easier to see on your food and taste much better especially for seafood

  • she doesnt even say "go ahead" that much. And at least she doesnt have an annoying voice like that lady on the food channel. You guys are a bunch of immature kids.

  • You guys are really #$cking critical.. who cares if she says go ahead.

  • @mycoptah Thank you :)

  • This looks really good, although you do use 'go ahead' quite a lot!! ;) x

  • @Ren090485 Oh I know - I've tried to quit saying this in my more recent vids - thank you for watching :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy btw, I just made this. I just subsituted the prawns for chicken. It makes a really nice dish!! Thanks so much. And maybe you can keep the 'go ahead' as your unique thing. It's quite sweet!! ;)

  • @Ren090485 Thank you :)

  • Great recipe and instructions. Enjoyed the video. Thanks

  • @treasures306 Thank you for watching :)

  • Question: After watching this video last month I decided to do it myself.

There has been ONE and MAIN problem with my cook. The shrimps, after they were cooked were really hard to bite and tasted a bit salty.

I always eat all sort of shrimps at Chinese restaurents, and they are very soft to bite and taste very nice.

Can you tell me if I need to do something with the shrimps before cooking them?

  • @kido4gab The shrimp in this recipe should have a bit of a crunch (just slightly) from the cornstarch coating; however they should not be tough. If they come out tough then it means they are over cooked. And the salt you can simply adjust. Here I use a teaspoon in the marinade, but depending on your tastes you can simply cut this in half or cut it out completely if you wish. I hope this helps answer your questions. Let me know if you need any more info :)

  • good,clear video but......all that salt!

  • Wow your Wok is SEASONED! Mine is still silver and grayish.

  • yumi diwali you the best

  • looks great! cant wait to try it out!

  • Amy is hot, More Amy!

  • yummy

  • awww bon apetit! Def gonna try this recipe!

  • Great receipe, I'll try it soon. I'm wondering about one think - why your shrimps are white-brown coloured instead of white-pink colour? Are there any kinds of frozen shrimps? I live in Poland Europe and the only one (frozen or not) srimps always has white-pink colour. I'm wondering about if it has other taste...

  • @klimasisko If they are pink that usually means that they are already cooked. Raw shrimp are white and grey in color (I guess it comes out a bit brown on the video.) But look to see if it says that they are cooked - that is probably why they are pink :)

  • @klimasisko iits like that cuz she coated the shrimp with cornstarch

  • do you make the chicken broth or do you buy it? and how do you store it. It seems a bit complicated to make the chicken stock (broth?) from tablets and then cool them (as they will not dissolve in cold/room temperature water) before mixing to make a sauce. Do you know any other way to make and keep it for sometime?

  • @hidimb I've actually been using organic chicken broth that comes in a carton from a store here called Earthfare. You can usually find similar broth in the grocery store too - I think Swansons makes a pretty good one as well :)

  • Is there any substitute for shao hsing wine? And one more thing. i would like to have seen your face. You sound cute

  • @sinfuldavy0 Rice vinegar can be used to replace the sherry in this recipe :)

  • I made this, it was delicious, thank you!

  • Is it okay if I don't deep fry the shrimps and instead velvet them in water or stir fry them?

    Thanks~

  • Can you omit the ketchup from the sauce?

  • can shrimps be marinated in any other sauce

  • nice dish...cute little doll saying "bon appetit" in the end,

  • do you have to use frozen shrimp?

  • @drweihs You can always use fresh meat in place of the frozen :)

  • what is shao hsing wine?

  • @maskedmagician100 Shao hsing wine is a fortified wine and in this recipe I use the cooking version of this wine. You can substitute it with sherry if you wish :)

  • hey, those are food lion shrimp. haha

  • Excellent video.

  • Yummmyyy LoVe it..... Can you make Chicken Fried Rice with Green paper....

  • @AliveOutofcontrol Hi - I will put that on my request list - thanks for watching and writing :)

  • will a all purpose chinese brown sauce be good on a shrimp stir fry?

  • Yes a brown sauce would be good :)

  • I can't wait to try this. I will pair with some white rice or fried rice. Keep up the good work.

  • Is Amy married ?

  • Yes, she is married too :)

  • i live in australia. where i can find your cook book. i been in many book store but i can't find yours. its very easy to follow your recipes. very simple and apetising. i enjoyed watching you.

  • I actually don't have one yet. I will hopefully have the time next year to put one together. Thank you for the comment and for watching :)

  • ur a big fan of paper towels lol

  • cant wait to try it! looks very delicious

  • Awesome and easy! 5 stars!

  • I love the addition of other people and their reactions to the food! This looks like a winner. I peel my ginger with a spoon. Also, I would simmer the shrimp shells in the chicken broth for about 10 min, strain the broth well and proceed as usual. This adds extra dimension to the flavor of the sauce. Just some ideas!

  • These are great ideas - thanks for sharing :)

  • ohhh i love asian food *subscribed*

  • does it really have to be peanut oil ... im allergic to peanuts...

  • You can use any oil with a high smoke point - vegetable oil would work just as well :)

  • ok thank you

  • ya know even if your allergic to peanuts you can still use the oils from them as long as their not organic or cold pressed peanuts oils, which you wouldn't use anyways due to their low smoking point.

  • it's ok i rather not ... i rather use vegetable oil...

  • WAAAA!!! What a lovely baby girl!!!

Lovin' this recipe by the way!!

  • Lucky helpers. Another recipe added to my list for the next big Chinese feast. I do not have an ouch of Asian in me, but sure love the asian style of cooking. Our Kitchen Reno is just about over, so will be treating all those helped to a nice Chinese meal. Have some favorites I have made for years, 5 spice honey garlic ribs is one of my favorites I will keep, but will replace most other dishes with your superior recipe. This one will be added to list, also your 5 spice spring roll.

  • you should always have someone taste your food at the end of your videos! although many of the videos on youtube show us the final product, its always nice to watch someone eating it

  • Mmmm yummie! Good job!

  • hey! what happened to the "my name is Layla" intro? lol.
