  • The USL and other doube A or triple A type minor leagues where they have teams in smaller market cities/towns should feed the MLS academies. That's the only way it'll work in a country the size of the US. The key isn't as much as playing in Europe to get in form, but to properly have the talent in a young age.

  • If the MLS wants to develop, they're going to need to produce theirs own players. They should focus on the youth academies and the infrastructure of it. That's how the rest of the world does it, and that' how the US should do it.

  • You guys shouldn't take it personal when European fans go on MLS videos and put your league down. They are only being consistent with the way they treat each other. at least they go to MLS videos...better than being ignored

As for MLS snobs? Every league has them to

  • @ManlnCognito MLS snobs are more of just annoying than it becoming personal. We've learned how to deal with certain Euro fans, but we wanted to make sure people are aware of why a big amount of us act like idiots.

  • but this is coming from a mexican fan that actually respects the US MNT and likes landon donovan lol yes i mean it

  • @camisa0ch0 We respect Mexico too, but on the overhype thing. It's the same for Agudelo except he is not Man U level yet. People didnt seem to know who he was until the S. Africa friendly. Both of us actually watched him in the u-20 milk up where he was playing on the right wing. We still cant believe he is the one being hyped, I was actually more impressed with Adrian Ruelas. Hype seems to come to any player these days. But maybe obscurity is what allows a player to succeed.

  • @USsoccerdudes you got it bud low profile players are the ones who're more likely to succeed imho i've watched new york red bulls's juan agudelo however i did not know he played right winger he strikes me as a nice forward all in all

as for ruelas sorry pal havent heard much of him other than his background is salvadorean dunno if i'm mistaken the guy for another MLS player

anyway what happened to the guy that plays in the bundesliga? dont remember his name but i heard hes a star in the makin

  • @camisa0ch0 Adrian Ruelas actually played for mexico u-17 and was/is captain of Santos Laguna's u-20 team. But its good that not many people hear of him, that means he wont be overhyped. On to your question about the guy in the Bundesliga, which guy? There's a lot of young stars in the Bundesliga but im guessing that u are talking about Timothy Chandler. The guy is a super version of the 2002 Beasley, and he can play RB, so he can definitely be the one to replace Cherundolo or Dempsey.

  • @USsoccerdudes for real? santos laguna is my town's team imao guess i should pay more attention to the youngsters... moving onto the guy from the bundesliga i was talking about jermaine jones.. gotta say i had to youtube him

  • @camisa0ch0 Looking at our roster right now... I am expecting a 2-0 or 3-0 win for Mexico. Half of the selections were horrible and were undeserved. There were so many snubs in the roster and so many unproven players or players who have proven that they dont have what it takes. I honestly dont see us beating Mexico, but I am still going to cheer for USA all the way. While we do have some good starters, the bench guys are underwhelming. Chandler denied the call up but where's Gomez, Diskerud?

  • @USsoccerdudes i know what you mean dude i too hate that i mean the coaches should always call up the proven players and leave out the scrubs they tend to screw it up

as for gomez that guy's a gun when given enough playing time so why dont give him a shot at it?

  • btw chicharito had been playing in Mexico since 2007 i reckon and nobody seemed to care up until he got onto a pretty good streak and got signed by man utd funny aint it? just for the record i'm not hating on chicharito im just stating some real facts you guys just dont wanna look at the big picture

  • @camisa0ch0 I was actually suspecting that but I didnt want to say it because I didnt have legit proof. He wasnt in qualifying and nobody even mentioned him. I'm sure many fans out there didnt really know him except for the Chivas ones until they saw his record last season, but I say that as a suspicion. Maybe you could bring some light into this since I dont want to go saying things without back up info.

  • @USsoccerdudes i also recall he played the u-20 WC held in canada and back then he wasnt even a starter i do like the dude but he's getting waaay overhyped maybe it's because Mexico has been lacking good players for a loooooong time i'm mexican myself and days cannot go by without the word chicharito

anyhow i'm guessing you actually didnt wanna get into heated arguments by saying chicharito's overrated if an american says a mexican player is so my fellow mexican seem to get their blood boiling

  • About playoffs, they are fun but I think they should combine MLS Cup with US Open Cup, have top 6 MLS quality directly to playoffs with #7 and #8 play wild cards with lower division teams who start their knock outs earlier.

  • @zava55 But US open cups also serve as a way for reserves to get some time. If it is the MLS Cup, then they are not going to risk playing those guys but instead use the 1st team. I want teams to care enough to want to win, but not too much as to keep using starters.

  • Great points. Got to say instead of worrying about who to bring over, whether it's USMNT players or other DPs, the future of MLS should be youth development and home grown players.

  • If there is a way where MLS can keep a good portion of there players much like how mexico has done over ther years both MLS and domestic player will have a win win

  • Jozy Altidore needs to go to a Team that gonna really beleive in him. all those Loans gotta be killing him

  • @ both USsoccerdudes & Ngooo IMO MLS as a league is competing more with the major US leagues than the european soccer leagues. MLS needs to market better. As for the players especially american players, they gonna go where the money is at. the money is in europe. even when u have successful American playing consistently in europe u dont really hear much about them here in the states mainstream media

  • I couldn't agree with you more guys on this one.You made an excellent point about the need of MLS fans and US soccer fans in general to understand the importance of having your players working hard in positioning themselves in competitive leagues, and the fact that it is extremely hard even for soccer legends. I remember Roberto Carlos being a shitty player when he first went to Europe, in Inter Milan, never adapted there. Then Real Madrid bought him and became the best LB of his generation.

  • I don't think it's snobbery to want domestic talent to play here. I also think it's tougher for CONCACAF players to be given proper chances abroad, especially Americans. That said, it's a fair point, because MLS can ruin you as well, and trap you since they own the contracts. And MLS isn't as developed or quality a league as a number of European leagues, Mexican primera, South American Leagues, etc. I can see it from both sides.

  • I agree with the Van Bronckhorst claim. Same thing with Giovani Dos Santos. If he was American, he would have left Tottenham to go to a team like San Jose or Chivas. Why would an American soccer fan not want their own players to succeed in Europe?

But Adu should either come back to MLS or just work harder in training. He isn't doing well in Europe and Benfica constantly loans him out because of his lazyness and lack of effort.

  • also eurosnobs also are the one who dont respect the MLS adaptation of a tradional american sports practice in the way of playoffs and determining champions of the league contrar to european ways

  • @riccorich I like playoffs, trust me, I dont like table winning because it is anticlimatic but I would really like people to care more about the Supporter's Shield and the Open Cup and the CCL. However, saying guys like Dempsey and Spector should have stayed in MLS would be absurd, do we want guys like Ream and Agudelo in MLS, yes, but if they are to get better, they should leave in a few years, because no matter how much we love the MLS, as of right now, Europe is still better.

  • I mean i feel ya guys are typically eurosnobs ya selves i mean re look at your video at what yall saying.

  • @riccorich Well, I can see how you would think that, but it's the sad truth. Europe will always be the one place players want to go, MLS is a second rate league, whether you like it or not, even I cringe when people make me say that. The thing is though, what would happen if Holden stayed hear, he wouldnt have had such a great season (save injury) with Bolton. BTW, we love the MLS, heck our ratio of watching to MLS to ANY Euro league is 5:1. But supporting means you cant delude yourself.

  • @riccorich This is kind of a troll-ish comment since they are clearly not that kind of people.

  • Ok guys...... expect a vid response for this for sure...... Imo i think soccer players strive for europe because of money first. sure maybe to compete but money first. more to come.

  • @riccorich Freddy Adu should come back though, but is he really comfortable here? Would we still love him like in the past? Or does he simply want a fresh start with nobody knowing him.

    BTW GO EARTHQUAKES!

  • @riccorich But that's because European teams recruit good competitive players. The money comes as part of their demand for talent. It's not like those teams have open positions and crappy American players are applying for those jobs to see if they get lucky. In fact I would argue Europe is not necessarily the best place for money. In oil countries such as the UAE ridiculously high salaries are paid to their international players, and their leagues are not good at all. There are the real mercenaries.

  • i think you guys should make another video about chicharito what he has accomplished in his first year and the impact he has had at manchester.

  • @bowdownx3 Why? If you hadnt noticed with our past 105 something videos, we are American fans. The Chicharito video was only to show that we didnt live under a rock. If you want a Chicharito video so bad, make one yourself.

  • @USsoccerdudes "so bad" ?? if i wanted to make a video i would have made one, I was aking about YOUR opinion on it, my opinion on it is simple, hes the shit :)

  • @bowdownx3 He's a very good player and obviously one to watch out for. But the thing is, you are probably the 20th guy who asked us to make a video. Yeah, he's great and all, but don't you think that's pretty obvious? Please dont bunch us up with those idiots who deny talent just because its on the opposing side. We are better than that.

  • @USsoccerdudes mm you might be right on that but the bottomline is that my fellow mexicans tend to inflate our players i so hate it when i hear the name chicharito all over the news they say he's better than rooney and all that bs stuff he's pretty good but come on guys! argentina, brazil and all those powerhouses have players just as good if not better and they dont make a great deal over it

  • A lot of Mexican players who have lost their shape end up in MLS. Players like Omar Bravo, Duilio Davino, Nery Castillo come to mind.

btw Blanco is not retired, not yet anyway. he plays for a Irapuato, a second division club.

    keep it up guys =)

  • @araym7 I meant retired from the national team.
