  • A large deer population does not mean it's a healthy population. Most of the deer herds lay their beds next to baitpiles and are dependent on that food supply. Hunters that do not continually feed the deer make it difficult for what is now a more lazy deer. Once hunting season is over, many or most hunters stop feeding deer entirely, exactly the time of year that finding food and staying alive is most hard on the deer. Wolves will make the deer move around and able to survive on their own.

  • so are the wolves in michigan exactly like the wolves out west or are they more along the lines of wolf/coyote hybrids?

  • This is real,cool,and awesome

  • Nice video ! Wolves dont mean no harm. They aint no worse predator than we are ! I would of at least cut the back straps off that deer...seemed cold enough out to have been still able to do so ?

  • I live in michigan but not in the u.p. or not even near but people have told me that in the winter when the lake freezes wolves go across and I guess they get stuck here in the lower peninsula when the lakes ice melts I have always wanted to see a wolf up close but in the county I live in there would be no wolves and never will be wolves .

  • i live in mac city

  • Ok seriously people tht are commenting rude ass shit, wolves are becoming over populated in MI especially in places where they have never been seen, like even lower than Mack. City... they are causing problems with our farms, so you stupid ass people tht are saying we dont like wild life and whatever shut the hell up bc we are protecting ourselves, wolves just dont hunt for food, they mostly hunt to kill, like this deer on here they barely ate any of it.. so untill you have dealt with them STFU!

  • @AMSRussian14 Easy Gunnar !!! ALL animals need to eat. It probably ate all it could. Then would return later and so on to finish off the rest. Wolves dont cache and hide thier kill like cougars do. They just come back when they are hungry !

  • CSI mackinaw, lol greeings from clinton twp MI

  • If the view of a partially eatten deer is not to your liking dont look at the remaining half a hamburger at my house, wolves have been comming south in recient years when the lakes freeze over. Wolf Vs feral pig - which species will win out as invaders from their respective ends of the peninsula, shoot the pigs they taste better, sorry about your deer not needing the tag, shoot better and track faster next time.

  • cool ,awsome video

  • Thats crazy. Last time I knew wolves were rare in the UP and non existent in the lower penninsula. Only recently, they have been repopulating in the UP. This is in Mackinaw City?

  • Not sure what's so hard to believe or why this is disturbing, other than the fact these folks have no idea whatsoever how to use a camera.

  • circle of life.....just part of nature.

  • the hell? why is this posted? disturbing, repulsive, and hard to believe.

  • Why wouldn't you have went out their and scared the wolf away? He is more scared of you than you are of him! The wolves have to start being controlled. We hunt in Escanaba and they got to one of our deer before we found him on opening day. Shoot those suckers!

  • And would you shoot a dog too? What exactly is the difference?

Yay for dumbass hicks like you who have no respect for wild life.

  • @omegaturtlerock

What is the difference between a dog and wolf? Are you kidding?? I think your the hick with a comment like that! Dogs don't kill other animals (except your occasional pitbull).....If I saw a wolf while deer hunting it would be the SSS rule....shoot...shovel...shut up.....What good does a wolf do? Do you know how much money the state makes off of deer/turkey hunting? and we have the stupid wolves out their killing our revenue! KILL EM ALL!

  • @ctompkins2006

You're literally supporting the wholesale slaughter of a natural predator in a region's food web. Wolves are as intelligent and capable of empathy as your neighbor's golden retriever. As far as revenue goes lands managed for hunting are sometimes purchased and maintained with tax dollars, even though 95% of Americans do not hunt. Thanks for being a cruel idiot.

  • @omegaturtlerock

In Michigan more that 5% of the people hunt, so many in fact that some counties through out the state close their schools on opening day of deer season due to low attendence, the year I graduated out of 101 students about 53 got a deer during the season and quite a few more said they just didnt see anything.

Wolves are not as far south as where I am yet but by the time they get here they will be off the list.

  • @ctompkins2006 gimmie a break dude. dogs ALWAYS kill animals when allowed to roam free and feral dogs are a HUGE problem in most states. the deer werent put here as a resource soley for hunters to utilize. you gonna say we should shoot all black bear, cougar and coyote because they predate the deer herd too? fucking idiot.

  • @agricola Bear and cougar don't nearly effect the herd like wolves and coyotes (and yes I would kill all coyotes). Look at the money the state makes from deer hunters and you support a thing that decreases the deer herd (in the U.P.) causes people to not want to hunt their anymore. Is that good for UP business' who rely on that revenue....and who's the idiot? NUFF SAID!

  • @ctompkins2006 I have hunted for over 30 years and I have land in wolf country. Wolves and dogs are 99% identical...really no difference. There would BE no dogs if not for wolves. My sheppard, husky is 90 lbs and has killed every animal that walks and crawls even though she has been trained and disclplined not to...it is just thier instinct...they cant help it ! Wolves the same !

  • @johnpsorgi I have hunted in what is now "wolf country" for the last 20 years (probably only the last 5 have their really been a decent amount of wolves) and I can really tell the difference in heard size the past few seasons. Dogs are present everywhere and don't effect the deer herd AT ALL. The DNR needs to step up and control the wolves, to much much is made off of deer season to have a stupid animal destroy what you make money off of. SHOOT, SHOVEL, and SHUT UP!

  • wow.. I grew up in Mackinaw.. How far downtown was this?

  • That was disturbing
