What difference do you find with one port plugged and two ports plugged. I'm more interested in movies. I have a Paradigm sub and will soon be getting an SVS PB 13 Ultra just like yours so I'm interested in how this two vs one port plugging does for bottom end.
i know that people have built designs to build their own bass traps over at avs forums in the diy audio section... you could join up there and search the forums for a design, if your inclined to make you own.
if you guys are wondering what other goods tracks with alot of lfe listen to bass patrol listen to "let the bass blow" that song hits the really low notes
I love how you set this thing up proper audiophile style with the platform for it. I forget the term, something about the enclosure vibrations not grounding and distorting the overall quality. Nice job, nice sub!
Car bass is a lot better than home bass because in a home, there is too much space whereas bass reflecting off something the size of a car trunk POUNDS! Proof. I had a pair of Cerwin Vega D-9's in my bedroom. After, I moved em' to the living room and there is less FEEL. To feel the bass, home subs should be made at 10-15000 watts RMS.
SVS is good for quality home theatre. Cerwin Vega is for music. Cerwins only suck if you power them with a shitty amp. However I could say that I disagree with owning cerwin vega subs vs. their speakers. I would much rather prefer cerwin vega speakers paired with a powerful car subwoofer.

You obviously have never heard good speakers in a proper room in right listening position. It's not all about damn pressure. But there are speakers that pound pretty hard even in big living rooms. 15kW needs in my ass. Someone that talks that shit has never even heard 100W's in a living room.
JL are too unreliable and are very prone to needing repairs, not what you come to expect these days, after all they ain't cheap. SVS on the other hand are sound when it comes to reliability, and besides are much much cheaper.

Dude what are you using to keep your sub off the floor? And where'd you get it from?
I'm looking to get one for my sub but not sure where I would get one.
SononeoV2 1 year ago
@SononeoV2 that is known as a bass trap. isolates the vibrations of the sub to the walls and floor, and helps keep it sounding clean.

@thadoggma Actually, how effective would it be on a passive radiator sub like mine? XLS300PR
SononeoV2 1 year ago
@SononeoV2 they work on any speaker, try searching google for bass trap, there are many companies that make them.

I know the SVS pedigree, and it is one amazing sub based on all the reviews, but HOLY SH*T is that thing huge. Looks like a damn mini-coffin.
audiophile331 3 years ago
It IS a mini-coffin, for all the other subwoofers

You music will sound better to you if you treat your room with bass traps on all corner and high frequency absorbing material.
Nice sub by the way, I'll will get me two of those later on.

The whole album is terrific and good enough to satisfy the bassheads! The driver excursion itself is musical.
Looking forward for similar tracks!
Thankyou

that's stunning sub! I love the finish, even saw couple of guys walking thru the street through the finish. Perfection!

even for a home sub thats crap excursion!! My sony cinema sub has twice that excursion and it costs peanuts and pounds hard!
sh4ts 3 years ago
sh4ts. That Ultra would eat your Sony for lunch...good sound is not just about excursion..
croseiv 3 years ago
Truthfully your SVS would eat my Sony for breakfast, lunch and dinner ..trust me i know!! Beautiful sub you got right there!
sh4ts 3 years ago
your mistaking boomyloud bass for good tight tuneful musical bass.
raymondleeleggs 3 years ago
The PB13 has the flattest bass curve than anything that costs 3 to 4 times as much.

I'm thinking that you really need to go and do some serious research before making a claim like that again, seriously.

I would rather go for the JL Audio Fathom ff13 home subwoofer.
