No, is really a red card. By a tackle from behind have you no chance to play the ball. He risk a injured from the player. The FIFA say under Law 12:

A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the following offences:

• serious foul play

This is a serious foul play.

As a certified soccer referee from German, I know it very well.

But the fact that he played the ball makes your statement that you cannot win the ball false. The simple truth is that some PES referees just are more fussy. And if your player commits a foul where there is a chance that a card might be given. There will be the chance that it could be a red card. This is to simulate anomalies in refereeing in real life. And is one of the main selling points of pro evo that referees can make mistakes. Unlike FIFA games where the referee is always right.

But I must say, I've seen red cards in this game which were in no way correct.

its the ghost ref theres 1 ref on each game i find that gives red cards out for fun on the last game he was the chinese ref. i remember play online on pes 2008 and 6 guys got sent off in the match cos the ref is a knob head lol =P

well there was a change in rules after 2006, that any tackle taht is "dangerous" or any movement for that matter that is "dangerous" (for example raising your legs into the air and doing kun fo shit next to another players head :P) will get a red card. also any tackle from the back , or a tackle the recieving player cant see coming , and therefore does not have the chance to play, gets a red too. so there u go .

Nah that's just an animation mate, they don't get cards or anything for arguing or anything it's just animations, the game isn't THAT detailed, although it would be cool if it were. Pro Evo has some suspect collision detection at times which is probably the most likely explanation for the red card here.

Yeah I'm sure. They only usually argue and scuffle when there's a tackle severe enough to warrant a card so that explains it. They really don't get booked for pushing etc. like they do in real life, as I said the game hasn't become that realistic....yet!

Actually, yes it is worth a red card. The way your legs wrapped around his ankles is considered serious foul play. In real life, that could have snapped his ankles.
