  • yes great vids as always i just have a replica leather man and i find it enough for my needs ut this does look pretty impressive

  • @CarpingTenchLover Thanks my friend. Nice one, most MTs are very useful, there are alot of good replicas out there.

  • seriously man your video(s) has always been pretty informative

    this one is no exception

i found out that i keep clicking your video(s), guess no helping it

    i'm a subscriber now :)

  • @alqren Thank you so much for the kind words and support my friend ,take care.

  • Hi Colin, could do with some advice mate, looking to invest in a good multitool and want to weight up size and weight but robust enough for weekends in the woods etc. Ideas?

  • @howesmat Hi mate, yeah the Wave is a great all round tool at a decent price, there are many others out there too, have a look at the Victorinox Spirit too.

  • @ColinOutdoors just out of curiousity why exactly does the UK not allow guns? its been proven in cities like in my country such as our capital washington DC, that gun bans make crime higher, and more guns = less crime. DC has a 100% gun ban and it has the highest crime rate in the united states. and correct me if im wrong the bobby's (sorry if i used the wrong term) now carry guns because crime has increased since the uk gun ban.

  • @Grunt922 Honestly I don't know!

  • @ColinOutdoors oh well, good video though.

  • @Grunt922 Thanks my friend

  • my father got me a leatherman before, lost it ages ago though, i was very pissed off at the time, cool that maxpedition sheath goes with the mut! saves splashing out on one!! the hammer looks a cool feature and the bottle opener, NEVER TOO EARLY FOR A DRINK HAHAHAHA!! cool vid man, Thumbed and faved!

  • @MultiAirGunner Thanks my friend, yeah the hammer is really handy. Sorry to hear you lost your Leatherman that your father gave you. Take care

  • Thats a nice multitool im not a big user of them because some MT's look as if they are flimsy but this you can see its got guts im getting one minds made up great vid bro

  • @blackwolfhobo Thanks my friend, yeah its for sure a rugged and heavy duty tool. Take care

  • ive never realy gone for multi tools when im out and about, just cant justify the wieght, but that looks quite a bit handier than what ive seen, gerber suspension, leatherman wave etc, ill have to see if i can find one and give it a good look my self

  • @seanthehaggis Cheers my friend, the Mut is a very handy tool with some unique and innovate features.

  • Colin this is a really great multi tool. The fact that the spare bits fit in the tool and not in a separate case has sold this to me. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • @seanmulhall Hi Sean, yeah I agree, the storage of the bits in the tool itself is a very cleaver design. Thanks my friend.

  • Hey colin im a civilian type of person that carrys a multi tool what leatherman would you recommend I carry.

  • @BillySAw951 Hi Billy, many good options, the Blast is really high value. The Wave is another great option :-)

  • Hey Colin, long time no commented. Quick question, what backpack do you use for your hikes (if a brand and if they have a name)?

Nice video, ashamed to say it, but I haven't got a Leatherman yet... I must get one one of these days.

    Cheers,

    Christophe

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Hi Christophe. I use a Berghaus Freeflow on most occasions. I hope you get yourself a leatherman soon my friend, great tools. Take care

  • @ColinOutdoors

I've never seen that brand in any store in Belgium. I'm using a Jack Wolfskin Mountaineer 30 for the moment, which is an alpine backpack, because my Haglofs is in repair. But even though it's meant for mountaineering, I find it does a nice job on hikes. The only downside is it has few compartments.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Sounds like a couple of nice packs you have got yourself my friend. Take care

  • Damn! Now I have to buy one of these too... Although I don't own an AR-15 (yet), I do have several other handguns and long guns and I can see where this would come in handy out hunting/shooting. It also has a lot of great uses in the outdoors as you effectively pointed out. Thanks for the vid!

  • @eschwebach Thanks my friend, the MUT is a cool tool, hope you pick one up for yourself in the future my friend.

  • I feel bad for you guys in the U.K. I couldn't live without the ability to own guns.

  • @RatifiedCow Don't feel bad, I don't. I am happy

  • @ColinOutdoors I envy you then, Colin. You're obviously a stronger person than I am. =)

  • @RatifiedCow Well I guess its just what I am used to I suppose :- )

  • @ColinOutdoors Guess so, Brother. Keep up the great vids, and i'll for sure be watching! =)

  • @RatifiedCow Thanks my friend, I really appreciate your support :-)

  • Great videos man! I like to check here before I buy;)

  • @chunkafungus Thanks my friend :-)

  • Colin, if i were walking, (Through the woods, not my local shopping centre) would there be a chance of coppers nicking me for carrying this. Thats if i were to get one.

  • @dontmakepatarangry Well I have never been stopped and searched. I always find it important to adhere to the law. If you have a valid reason for carrying the tool (bushcraft etc) then you should be fine :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors i wasn't planning to not adhere to the law, but would camping and hiking be a valid reason to hold one

  • @dontmakepatarangry I personally think it is a valid reason. Remember this, why are these tools easily available in the UK? Stores like Argos sell Leatherman's, so its perfectly fine to own and use these tools in the correct circumstances.

  • @ColinOutdoors Thank you for your time, i have been considering something a bit bulkier than a victorinox. (im not saying they are bad tools, nor am i saying that im going to get a parang)

  • @dontmakepatarangry No problem Patrick, glad to help. Perhaps look at the Leatherman Wave, got plenty of tools and perhaps more versatile than the MUT

  • @ColinOutdoors Cheers for that i will take a look.

  • nice vid. I have thinking about getting one, but the price is a bit much.

  • @moses2781 Thanks my friend, yeah unfortunately they are quite expensive

  • Cool tool! Thanks for the video review.

  • @nextexhale Thanks Brian :-)

  • THANKS FOR SHARING !!

  • @WhitetailBushcraft Thanks for watching

  • this was the best review that i have seen for this multi-tool. i like this enough enough to send a friend request. lol good job mate!

  • @thebashersplace Thank you very much my friend, I appreciate your kind words

  • Hi Colin... nice tool.

A good tool for me, unfortunately, is priceless.

    Thanks for showing, ;-)

    All the best.

    Greetings Tito

  • @Naturliebe Hi Tito, yeah its a really nice tool but quite expensive, thanks my friend

  • I was thinking about getting this in the near future, any feedback about the MT?

  • @vfthb098 Nice one my friend, yes I have found it very useful so far. I do believe that the Wave or Charge has more utility and is easier to carry but the MUT is still a great tool.

  • beautiful knife i really like the video and thank you for the friend request :)

  • @davidvon1 Thanks my friend :-)

  • Colin, I have to applogize to you. Just noticed your friend request. I feel like a jerk

  • @pigwigpa No probs my friend, I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment, have a great week, take care

  • Good stuff, Colin! You did a great job of explaining what the features of the MUT are, how they work and how components are stored. Superbly thorough!

  • @cmonsterz Thank you very much my friend, I always appreciate your support and kind works, take care

  • thanks 4 sharing

  • @spamstoper3 Thanks for watching my friend :-)

  • I think you should use your tool to adjust your crazy voice? Ha ha ha ha - I made a real funny.

  • @PomeranianJoy Sorry you feel that way, thanks for watching anyway, take care

  • @ColinOutdoors Great Vid man! Not sure why it took so long for me to sub you've got a great channel. But I've got one issue! It's never to early to start drinking mate! It's always 5 o'clock somewhere LOL!

  • @ironmonkeyz Hey my friend, thanks for the kind words. Lol yeah sometimes an early drink is needed :-)

  • Ahh, the great outdoors. Sweet channel and thanks for the heads up on the MUT. Thing looks sweet. Hope all is well and good luck!

Rock And Mine.... Or survive outdoors

  • @TheSimpleTruthShow Thank you much for the kind words my friend, take care

  • Never thought I'd hear a Scotsman say it's to early to drink.

  • @HessenDragoon Haha, very true my friend, :-)

  • wow that one is darn cool

  • @DeathToAllHamsters Hi mate, thanks for the kind words. Yeah the MUT Rocks, take care buddy

  • @ColinOutdoors your welcome m8 :) i am looking for a new multi tool so might be one like that ima get :)

  • @DeathToAllHamsters Nice one my friend, hope whichever tool you get you love it :-)

  • Colin, nice review. Unfortunately, your little idea about switching the saw blade and the knife blade won't work because the blade tangs are ground in such a way that they will only engage the lock on the sides for which they were designed: they won't work otherwise. It was a nice idea to fix a problem, but alas....

  • @NosferatuD Ah, thanks my friend, I didn't know that, cheers for the top info, fortunately I am right handed so no need to swap them for me :-)

  • Another great review Colin,

But living in the UK is no excuse for not having an AR15!

I live in the UK and I have one ;-)

    All legal and above board.

    Keep up the good work.

  • @HOXTON13 Thanks my friend. Nice one on the AR :-)

  • nice vids man u put so much detail and make perfect sense of what ur saying unlike some others :)

  • @doglovermw Thank you so much my friend, i really appreciate your kind words and support, take care

  • @ColinOutdoors your very welcome good sir :) you take care and have fun! :D

  • @doglovermw Cheers buddy, you too :-)

  • you can build aboat with leatherman tools...

colin you do the best videos(understander every word.

  • @MrNeTjockey thank you so much for your kind words and support my friend, means alot to me. Take care :-)

  • Very nice!

  • @HallounNizar Cheers buddy.

  • M.O.A.M =Mother of All Multi-tools..lol

  • @SnakeDoctor33 Haha, I like it, very cool :-)

  • Good vid, Colin, this looks like a good knife for firefighters and other first responders. Myself, I have the Leatherman Wave, that I got as a gift. I would reccomend it to anyone.

  • @GriffinRampant1 Thanks my friend, I agree the Wave is a great tool, perhaps the best on the market

  • good vid mate i like it you may also be interasted to know leatherman bring out 2 new tools this year

  • @adamanime2 Thanks mate, yeah read a couple of articles on the new tools, very interesting.

  • @ColinOutdoors yeah they had a comp to win one on fb

  • @adamanime2 Very cool idea from Leatherman

  • @ColinOutdoors yeah you should join the group

  • @adamanime2 i think I will, cheers for the heads up :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors no problem

  • Hey Colin, not sure if you noticed or if anyone said it yet (didn't read all the comments here). But if you leave the smaller of the three bits in the driver it acts as a safety device, blocking the V-cutter from accidently cuting something you dont want to, like you sheath or pants. Awesome vid by the way. Keep up the strong work. Thanks.

  • @ParamedicPants Thanks my friend, yeah I see how that works, top tip. Thank you so much for your support my friend, take care.

  • Once again Col, great review! it has everything u could possible need, just somthing about it that just dosn't do it for me (every1 is different ha) gald you like it thou, i realy do enjoy ur presentation style brother, have my daughter here so i have been on YT as much (hiking, camping etc =] ) nut im glad i checked in and watched ur reveiw, hope all is ok with u and urs stay warm and stay safe brother

  • @TheDishD Hey Dishy, good to hear from you my friend, hope all is well down there, seen the pictures of the Hurricane/typhoon hitting the east coast. Hope you and your family are safe my friend. Thats great you and your daughter have been out hiking and camping, hope you are having a good time. Take care :-)

  • If you go on the leatherman website, they have a Bit Kit available. I believe it adds 42 new bits to the existing 3 double sided ones. I'm not sure if its currently available for civilian purchase though.

  • @Davelarious Is that for the larger bits? I have the small bits but I think to longer ones are really good and useful, cheers for the heads up.

  • great review

  • @TheCadpatReviewer Thanks mate :-)

  • I was hoping you'd review the MUT! I actually bought one a few days back, fantastic tool. Mine was missing the wrench unfortunately

    Fantastic review as always :-)

  • @PodeCoet Thanks my friend, glad you got the MUT, its a great tool, sorry to hear your wrench was missing, I think if you contact Leatherman, they will send you one :-)

  • Great review! The presentation was right on, and all the info one can think of. I don't think you missed any of the tool functions on that multi. I saw one at the store and almost bought it till I saw the price tag of $125. As a gun owner I may have to get it sooner or later.

  • @Commentboy5000 Thanks my friend, I really appreciate your support, hope you get one in the future for a good price.

  • I'd love to get one of those, quite pricy though

  • @NLArmory Yeah they are quite pricey, hope you get one my friend, take care

  • Another great video my friend. I am not sure if I am sold on this. I have the super tool, the wave and a gerber pro scout. Each of those has tools I love and prove useful, not sure about some of the ones on this unit.

  • @bill510c Thanks my friend, I appreciate your support, sounds like you have a great selection of MTs already :-)

  • That MUT looks to be a pretty tough multitool. I like the addition of the hammer!

  • @investigator76 Yeah it sure is, I agree the hammer is a great feature :-)

  • very good review... I thought that i had made up my mind on getting the Leatherman Surge, but now I'm not so sure.

  • @beefyramos Thanks my friend, the Surge is a great tool also :-)

  • Been looking at getting this little lady for a bit now. And after seeing this vid Im placing my order. Nicely done Sir.

  • @voodoo35355 Thanks my friend, hope you like yours when you get it :-)

  • Great review Colin!

  • @jolietjake1970 Thanks my friend

  • Hey Colin, what wrist watch is that? Great review as well btw!

  • @Spetznaz666 Thanks my friend, the watch is a Casio G-Shock :-)

  • nice

  • @0000Fred0000 Cheers mate

  • fair play mate thats what you call a QUALITY review !

    stay safe pip

  • @PiPphiltitley Thank you very much Pip, :-)

  • great job.....I need one.

  • @newsphotoman007 Thanks my friend, hope you get one.

  • Ok colin how much was that and where did you get it from. Great video by the way mate

  • @dudesonsrock23 Thanks my friend, I got the MUT from a trade with a good friend. :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors must have been a good trade then because i found out they are worth about £75 :)

  • @dudesonsrock23 Yeah it was a good trade, the MUT's sell for £160 and £220 in the UK, if you find it for 75 quid, buy 3! :-)

  • thats the best multi tool ive seen!

  • @hobo31009 Thanks my friend, I appreciate you watching :-)

  • you can use the small screwdriver bit to block the v cutters

  • @gearguy981 Yeah it only blocks about half of the v cutter but still a useful feature

  • great multitool, have a nice knive, thanks for sharing

  • @faithgoshi Thank you my friend.

  • Thank you for the review, I have never seen this reviewed before, and I did not think it was consumer friendly, but you have pointed out some really cool uses for the AR15 specific items. Thanks again for another great review!

  • @bscalzo130 Thanks my friend, I really appreciate your support and kind words.

  • You mentioned that you didn't want an AR-15 because you live in the U.K. Is that just because it's illegal for you to have one or do you have another reason? Great review...and I love my leatherman WAVE. :)

  • @thegangvault2 Lol, I said I don't own one because I can't own one :-) Thanks my friend, the Wave is a great tool, glad you love yours :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors Man that sucks... I can't imagine not having a firearm. But yeah I use my wave all the time on the job. It's a sturdy and efficient tool. :)

  • @thegangvault2 Yeah I need to come to the States and try a shooting range someday.

  • @ColinOutdoors If you ever make it to the heartland you'd be welcome at my place. But some of the shooting ranges here are pretty incredible.. H&H gunrange a few hours from where I live has a computerized "virtual hunting" archery range.

  • @thegangvault2 Sounds very cool my friend, hopefully one day in the future I can make it across the Atlantic :-)

  • Nice features, if a bit short on the aesthetics

  • @vh2k Yeah its got great features, I guess its down to preference on the looks :-)

  • Great review Colin.

  • @spence0324 Thank you my friend

  • Hey Colin, best review of this tool I seen so far, thumbs up mate.

Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable using a tool for a task that was designed for something else, but that's just "my mileage" as Nutnfancy would say. :)

  • @Angyal269 Thanks for the kind words my friend, I always appreciate your support.

  • Can you make a video showing how to disarm C4? lol just kidding. Nice video as always.

  • @SpydercoTac Haha lol yeah I can do that, it would probably be my last every video 'Boom' :-) Thanks my friend

  • oh yeah, im working on my own design of how to alter one or two of the featers on the mut to change them to a more "bushcraft type tool". If it works out, youll be the first to know. If one doesnt own an ar15 or carry plastic explosives in his pack, why not alter the details to be more pack friendly and useful? huh? Ive come up with some cool ideas, now, lets see if they are possible. If so, maybe i'll take it upstairs for tool design to see. have the next tool named after me :-)

  • @PHARRAOH Alan thats a pretty amazing concept you have come up with, sounds brilliant. I hope it goes through and they call the new tool the Alan Bushcraft Leatherman or something :-) Good luck my friend, take care.

  • Colin, you mentioned tolerances, yes, they are tight. when we are designing and building the dies used for stamping out the components, we must hold a plus or minus 4 tenths spec! now, a human hair is about .004 on average, divide this by 4 and then that by another ten and you see where I'm going. I do the work with a microscope. we have 11 new dies in the works. All new and different tools. I'll get some out your way when the first come of the line my friend. peace be with you. Alan

  • @PHARRAOH Hi Alan, wow those are very tight tolerances. Sounds like very skilled work you do. The MUT is perfect in almost every aspect, you and your colleagues do a great job :-) Yeah I seen some of the new tools on a couple of blogs, they look really interesting.

  • nice one,,

  • @bricardiff1969 Thanks buddy :-)

  • Great tool and great video Colin!

  • @stunna47pyro Thank you so much my friend

  • I carry a Leatherman charge. Leatherman products are the best, most versatile multi tools around . I use it in the outdoors, and regularly for household projects. Tonight I put a desk together with it.

    Great review my man.

  • @enjoythewildUSA Thank you my friend, I agree, Leatherman set the benchmark in the MT world. The Charge is a great tool

  • ive been looking into gettin one they look sweet

  • @TheGoodOlBoyzChannel Nice one my friend, hope you get one, its a great tool

  • That is one handful of tools - very nice Colin - thanks!

  • @wawhiker Thank you very much Bill

  • WOW that looks amazing! makes me feel like getting one! but it cost like twice of my skeletool over here
