  • I Love

  • Good cover, not the original lead singer. Kinda sucks actually

  • st, louis kiel opera house

  • I done the ranchers daughters!!!!

  • There has been a lot of left handed cigarettes burned listening to these classics and enough cold beers drank to float a ship the size of Texas......................

  • One of the most under rated rock songs of all time !!!!!

  • Love you Brothers, and i am Free. thank you

  • true rock song with all the elements

  • Was this lead singer in a band called "Bloodgood"?

  • Awesome song, my first concert, 1976

  • they do this damn good! heep changed their lineup many times.. this is the 4th singer after byron!. this aint close to the same guys you hear on the records, but its the best cover band of heep....

  • What a classic song!!!! Thanks for the post!!

  • 1st concert ever saw, st louis 1973, floor seats for 5 bucks, those were the days!

  • One of my favez

  • Cincinnati Gardens. June, 1973.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • <3 <3 < 3

  • I had this album. Wow, the vocals are still sooooooo good.

  • One of the best songs ever!!!!!!!!!

  • best version on youtube!

  • I want this as my mobile wake up alarm call - so cheerful and upbeat

  • Saw them yesterday night in Zug Switzerland. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

  • Uriah Heep at long beach! What a concert..... I was lucky to see them 3 times with classic lineup. Everyone seems to have forgotten that they were the hottest live band around...when they toured with T.rex they were out selling even Led Zeppelin!!!

  • They look like they are having a lot of fun

  • A Great true song. how about that Matthew Barnett

  • is Micks pointing upwards at 2:40 a nod to David Byron?

  • @TheLowsilver

Maybe, maybe not. If so, it's for David and Gary. RIP

  • Awesome , saw the Heap many times in Germany in the 70's . Great band !

  • Bernie deserves alot of respect. He does this song justice and has a great range. Great singer IMO.

  • I saw Uriah Heep headline in Long Beach '70s, they ROCKED' , I believe that Tranquility from England opened the show. Ziggy played the following week or so... great times!

  • No disrespect but Uriah Heep stopped for me when David Byron died. R.I.P. We miss you...

  • MY KIDS KNOW THIS STUFF I MADE SURE OF IT!

  • this their best tune they ever did

  • Saw them in a small place in copenhagen, and even though they opened up by shouting "good evening stockholm, i loved it.

  • Never got to see them in person, but I loved them all the same. In Chicago, a friend's basement with a black light and posters...great time b/4 a husband and kids. Thanks UH!

  • Classsssssssss song " Classsssssss band " Hard to believe this track is going on 40 years old

  • Great song, but when you compare this to the raw talent of somebody like Faces or Savoy Brown, it's easy to see how far behind Americans where at the time

  • @wchwsky Where exactly are Savoy Brown and Faces now? Are they still touring? I didn't think so!

  • @gunslinger5854

Savoy Brown became the band Foghat

  • @gunslinger5854

Savoy Brown became an even more famous band. Do you remember Foghat ?

    That's who Savoy Brown became.

  • @thenikonrocker Savoy Brown wasn't a band they were an everchanging lineup of musicians playing some blues. With between 40 and 50 past and present members very, very few stood head and shoulders above the rest. That some became Foghat is not news to me though, it is sad that after the deaths of Lonesome Dave and Rod Price the band still tried to tour. When you lose half the band it's time to move on. Can you imagine Paul and Ringo hiring two guys to tour with? Just not the same!!

  • @thenikonrocker I did not know that. I actually saw Foghat warm up Uriah Heep many years ago

  • @gunslinger5854 Yes I saw Savoy Brown A few years ago here in Houston. They play under Kin Simmonds name now of course.

  • @wchwsky As an American all I can say is....we're still falling further behind. Sigh.

  • @wchwsky I don't think you can really compare Savoy Brown and Uriah Heep. I've always seen Savoy Brown as more of a blues band, where as Uriah Heep more of a heavier rock band. It would be like comparing apples to airplanes. :-)

  • The bass player kicks ass. Makes the whole song drive.

  • Excellent band from an equally excellent era.

  • Is that Dave Byron singing that in this performance. Geeez, that guy still has the pipes. I think he sounds better than back in the day! The whole freaking band sounds brilliant. Great mix/recording for a live performance too. Loved it!

  • @Sweeper5 - No, this isn't David Byron. Byron unfortunately died in 1985. This is Bernie Shaw. He's been the lead singer for Uriah Heep since 1986.

  • A magical time that will never return.

  • The girls in the audience are just sexier than the girls now are. They didn't have to prove anything, they were just cool!

  • From my days of rock and roll..love them..not many have herd of them well they younger generation..excellent [uriah heep] i agree with last poster arbshredder the younger generation dont get it..this is rock and rollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • @PUMPKINMAN63

You are startin to sound like my Dad in 1969. Yep, I 'member back in the nineteens, when I 's no more than a young pup....

The younger generation NEVER truly gets the music of their elders , until they have themselves become the "older generation."

  • @cyberties This is very true,,Yes todays music is different, but yet good.once you understand it.i bang lil wayne young geezy and a few others in my car..i like all music, and youll notice alot of oldies remixed with r&b and rapp so its always around..lol peace.

  • I agree but there is MORE MONEY to WASTE NOWADAYS,NOT!

  • oh and also this song is like my life story. Could not agree more

  • @bassgroove21 Did it turn out good or bad? lol Just curious. I guess it';s all good.

  • i love this band more than ever, but there is some ugly ass girls who love uriah heep, trust me, i dated half of them, and i'm married to one.

  • @bassgroove21 Your post is funny and yet sad at the same time.

  • Did anyone recognize Robin Trower in the background? He's a in the background. I didn't no he backed up Uriah? Anyone be-sides me didn't no this?

  • Members of Uriah Heep were at one time going to merge with Deep Purple - the new band was to be called Deep Heep

  • They opened for Rush at Alpine Valley along with Sweet. We were in the ski lodge having brakfast and all 3 bands came in to eat. 1st show ever at Alpine Valley. Farewell to Kings Tour for Rush. Killer.

  • That sounds awesome 3 GREAT bands!

  • simply best rock band ever!!!

  • damn these guys are old, wait a minute, that makes me an old fossil to lol, still very good

  • just some old time rock and roll mostly 70s rock and roll no rap

  • YEEEAAAAHHHHHH, NO (C)RAP!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy that MY generation has NO association with (C)RAP that we know it now a days! Rap does go back a long ways, Stuff like Charlie Daniels...Devil went down to Georgia, Legend of wooley swamp, Uneasy rider etc. BUT it's "ORIGINAL" MUSIC accompanyment etc. I"M PROUD OF IT!!!

  • Tell us how you really feel!

  • Lol, Ok, (c)rap belongs in the toilet bowl and flushed!!!

  • Bernie Shaw Vocalist Extraordinaire. Just amazing.

  • Wasn't familiar with Bernie Shaw til' just now. That man can sing I tell ya'. Wow !!!

  • still great to hear this old stuff done so well...THANKS ALOT

  • Flawless performance! Thanks for posting!

  • Saw them on stage at the Olympia de Paris, it was early september... did some pictures, and had a good time with their music... Paris had to wait 25 years for their coming, because the last time, some stupid guy hit one member. Later we saw on the same stage, the amazing Blue Öyster Cult. I made some pictures also. Hope you'll understand my english...

  • What! No flash pots? Oh. Right. Secound hand smoke.

  • I saw them three weeks ago in Holland. Theyre still great, a true awesome performance. It was one of the bands my dad insist me to see :P

  • Check out the best version of this song ever done live, The Deal

  • this is the song that helped everyone in the USA discover an amazing band. Uriah Heep has a place in my history that i will cherish as long as i continue to breath

  • Simply beautiful! This is how it is done!

  • Music like this allowed me to get through those fun teenage years of the 80's we sure had some of THE BEST music on the radio growing up now didn't we? The REAL SHIT Fur Sure LOL!!

  • Who's the lead singer? Very good, but we all know how great Byron was, nobody could

    replace that guy.

  • It's Bernie Shaw (vocals, 1986-present) & yes he's quite good

  • you are very right D.Byron was the best, what is sad they all talk about hardrock Black Sabbath Led Z deep P, bleu cheer as the founders of hardrock but no one mentions Uriah Heep well listen to the first album and ofcourse the other albums Heep was also playing in 1969 dont forget that my hardrock fans greetings

  • Very good singing but, still,DAVID BYRON IS ONE AND ONLY!

  • what a great band. when i listen to something like this i feel sorry for kids today. these cats made great music based on pure talent - great songwriting, vocals in tune, rhythm tight. today, its all done with technologically - image trumps talent. that is so sad. take away the software and what do the stars of today have? these guys are 30 years past their prime and they still rock better than so many popular bands today.

  • This song was great, still is. But I prefer bands from a more recent era, such as Elvis Costello, and the pretenders,I got tired of those jam bands long ago. I agree with you about the technology thing. It takes more to be an artist than to mix rap with a boom box, or to scratch records.

  • @arbshredder I know. If the song isn't about Freddy Krueger diddling their pee pee, the kids aren't interested. Nu-metal is frankly bizarre.

  • @arbshredder lady gaga fuckin sucksssssssssssss

  • @arbshredder Couldn't agree with you more...musicians/bands today are boring, and uninspired and rely on computers to sound good. However, it is heartwarming to hear comments here on Youtube of young adults stating how they LOVE old classic rock and roll. Rock on. Oh, and RIP RJD.

  • @arbshredder April Wine, Deep Purple, Aerosmith Early years - what are you trying to say! lol Rare Earth, Humble Pie and I'm an 80s guy! Love this stuff. Actually saw Uriah heep Texas Jam 2 = Sammy Hagar, Ted Nugent ,Styx, Uriah whoops don't remeber the rest! Remeber Nugent - broken leg - cast = Cat Scratch Fever standing in front of a 6 foot tall speaker. Jumps up backwards and lands on top of the speaker without missing a lick Effing awesome. Fucking awesome.

  • @arbshredder This rocks like no kids ever today will ever experiance again. To join in and just have a damn good time! Damn, now it's time for some Foghat! This absolutly rocks!

  • @arbshredder Yep to days music if you want to call it that is nothing but noise...

  • @arbshredder i agree i am glad i got into this music and didnt follow my peers and get caught up in all the bullshit music of today

  • Why the FUCK did bands like Uriah Heep, UFO and Rainbow never get the credit they so badly deserved? Listen to stuff like this and the forementioned band and you can easily see obvious blueprints for heavy metal. All the credit always goes to Zeppelin and Sabbath for the creation of metal and yes they DID carve out huge pieces for it. But fucking bands like this did MORE than their part to put metal on the map and people just overlooked them. It's messed up. Uriah Heep deserves ALOT of credit

  • You may find it fascinating but sabbath was "less cool" than Uriah Heep and Deep Purple and wasnt that popular until about 10 years later. Black Sabbath fans were few. I was one of the originals.

  • I always liked Uriah Heep but when you say "All the credit always goes to Zeppelin and Sabbath" thats not a good comparison because they arent talking about Uriah Heep anyway. They werent "death metal." Zepplin wasnt either that much but were classified that way because they are thought of as "satanic" by many.

  • People who think of Led Zeppelin as satanic are mental.

  • Well, I liked those three bands a lot and went to see them back in the day - but they weren't originators of the genre like Sabbath and Zeppelin. In particular Uriah Heep owed a huge debt to Deep Purple and as good as they were, they didn't really do anything that hadn't been done already. That's why.

  • GREAT tune.

  • YOURE GREAT

  • 0:09 Help yourself wanker ☺

  • That song takes me back to 15 and the errors of my youth, I can close my eyes and see my old friends... The ones I haven't seen in years and the ones that left us all some time ago. It was a great time!!!

  • Where was this recorded at? What a great group...

  • this somg has always been one of my favorites. i'd listen to it on my old weltron stereo- you remember the old round 8 track players. they were cool and sounded great for the time.yeah, this song takes me back!

  • OMG!!! A vid of them singing it!!! Many thanks!!!

  • close your eyes it gets better

  • отлично! !!!

  • Wow its one of the great Uriah Heep songs! I just wish they would tour St. Louis Missouri, truly one of the great rock bands of all time.

  • отлично!
