they do this damn good! heep changed their lineup many times.. this is the 4th singer after byron!. this aint close to the same guys you hear on the records, but its the best cover band of heep....
Uriah Heep at long beach! What a concert..... I was lucky to see them 3 times with classic lineup. Everyone seems to have forgotten that they were the hottest live band around...when they toured with T.rex they were out selling even Led Zeppelin!!!
I saw Uriah Heep headline in Long Beach '70s, they ROCKED' , I believe that Tranquility from England opened the show. Ziggy played the following week or so... great times!
Never got to see them in person, but I loved them all the same. In Chicago, a friend's basement with a black light and posters...great time b/4 a husband and kids. Thanks UH!
Great song, but when you compare this to the raw talent of somebody like Faces or Savoy Brown, it's easy to see how far behind Americans where at the time
@thenikonrocker Savoy Brown wasn't a band they were an everchanging lineup of musicians playing some blues. With between 40 and 50 past and present members very, very few stood head and shoulders above the rest. That some became Foghat is not news to me though, it is sad that after the deaths of Lonesome Dave and Rod Price the band still tried to tour. When you lose half the band it's time to move on. Can you imagine Paul and Ringo hiring two guys to tour with? Just not the same!!
@wchwsky I don't think you can really compare Savoy Brown and Uriah Heep. I've always seen Savoy Brown as more of a blues band, where as Uriah Heep more of a heavier rock band. It would be like comparing apples to airplanes. :-)
Is that Dave Byron singing that in this performance. Geeez, that guy still has the pipes. I think he sounds better than back in the day! The whole freaking band sounds brilliant. Great mix/recording for a live performance too. Loved it!

YEEEAAAAHHHHHH, NO (C)RAP!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy that MY generation has NO association with (C)RAP that we know it now a days! Rap does go back a long ways, Stuff like Charlie Daniels...Devil went down to Georgia, Legend of wooley swamp, Uneasy rider etc. BUT it's "ORIGINAL" MUSIC accompanyment etc. I"M PROUD OF IT!!!
Saw them on stage at the Olympia de Paris, it was early september... did some pictures, and had a good time with their music... Paris had to wait 25 years for their coming, because the last time, some stupid guy hit one member. Later we saw on the same stage, the amazing Blue Öyster Cult. I made some pictures also. Hope you'll understand my english...
this is the song that helped everyone in the USA discover an amazing band. Uriah Heep has a place in my history that i will cherish as long as i continue to breath
Music like this allowed me to get through those fun teenage years of the 80's we sure had some of THE BEST music on the radio growing up now didn't we? The REAL SHIT Fur Sure LOL!!

what a great band. when i listen to something like this i feel sorry for kids today. these cats made great music based on pure talent - great songwriting, vocals in tune, rhythm tight. today, its all done with technologically - image trumps talent. that is so sad. take away the software and what do the stars of today have? these guys are 30 years past their prime and they still rock better than so many popular bands today.
This song was great, still is. But I prefer bands from a more recent era, such as Elvis Costello, and the pretenders,I got tired of those jam bands long ago. I agree with you about the technology thing. It takes more to be an artist than to mix rap with a boom box, or to scratch records.
@arbshredder Couldn't agree with you more...musicians/bands today are boring, and uninspired and rely on computers to sound good. However, it is heartwarming to hear comments here on Youtube of young adults stating how they LOVE old classic rock and roll. Rock on. Oh, and RIP RJD.

Why the FUCK did bands like Uriah Heep, UFO and Rainbow never get the credit they so badly deserved? Listen to stuff like this and the forementioned band and you can easily see obvious blueprints for heavy metal. All the credit always goes to Zeppelin and Sabbath for the creation of metal and yes they DID carve out huge pieces for it. But fucking bands like this did MORE than their part to put metal on the map and people just overlooked them. It's messed up. Uriah Heep deserves ALOT of credit
You may find it fascinating but sabbath was "less cool" than Uriah Heep and Deep Purple and wasnt that popular until about 10 years later. Black Sabbath fans were few. I was one of the originals.
I always liked Uriah Heep but when you say "All the credit always goes to Zeppelin and Sabbath" thats not a good comparison because they arent talking about Uriah Heep anyway. They werent "death metal." Zepplin wasnt either that much but were classified that way because they are thought of as "satanic" by many.
Well, I liked those three bands a lot and went to see them back in the day - but they weren't originators of the genre like Sabbath and Zeppelin. In particular Uriah Heep owed a huge debt to Deep Purple and as good as they were, they didn't really do anything that hadn't been done already. That's why.
That song takes me back to 15 and the errors of my youth, I can close my eyes and see my old friends... The ones I haven't seen in years and the ones that left us all some time ago. It was a great time!!!
