  • Wowsa @ASentinel2 what happened to you? Give yourself a break and go read what this man wrote about. I recommend you start with 'The Zinn Reader' and if you still feel the same way then know this - you have every right to feel the way you do. If it wasn't for minds like Howard you wouldn't even know that you had that freedom. Take care and keep an open mind. That's all it takes.

  • Good...finally...he's dead.

    Now rest in piss...

  • @ASentinel2

Like one person's gonna give a shit when you kick the bucket. Ask yourself this? Would a person with a shred of decency gloat over someone else's death? Your kind suck.

  • i feel sorry for the useful idiots who believed this man's nonsense.

  • Zinn is a commie anti-American cockroach. Hung out quite a bit with Castro. RIP, you commie pig. "Kill a commie for your mommy."

  • @reno93535 if any one needs killing its pig ignorant scum like you.

  • @reno93535 As far as I know he never met Castro. He was not a communist either, he was a democratic socialist which is quite different. I can't think of anything more anti American then publishing textbooks with a political bias or agenda. Which I'm sure you're in favor of, you sorry sack of shit.

  • @Connerisawesome Google Catsro and Zinn. They hung out often. There's plenty on it. Research before inserting foot.

  • @reno93535 Whats wrong with Castro? He's a great man. You can't even spell Castro.

  • @HONDOMACLEAN83 So sorry for my spelling, Comrade Spellcheck."You can't even spell Castro". Haha...

  • @reno93535 I googled it and couldn't find anything. All I found was results about his protests.

  • @Connerisawesome Read his f'ing auto-biog. Are you kidding me? You acted like you knew what he was all about. Have you done any research on him?

  • @reno93535 The burden of proof is on you my friend, you were the one who made the claim it's your job to back it up. I couldn't find anything after looking at Google so show me a credible link that shows that Howard Zinn and Fidel Castro were friends.

  • RIP dr. Zinn

  • The world lost a great man yesterday. J.D. Salinger will be missed.

  • RIP Howard Zinn.. you will be missed

  • And you quantify this how? When did it become anti-Americanism to question your government?

  • 123phil - a Canadian - LOL, who would have thought!?? Zinn doesn't just question the government, he fights against everything this country stands for and believes it is a force of evil in the world. I stand by my original comment.

  • What does your country stand for that Zinn opposes exactly?

  • There have been books written on it, but let's make it simple - capitalism.

  • Really? So the most important to you about America, and the one thing that you can think of that Zinn is a major threat to is capitalism? How sad.

  • Those that push a communist agenda are a threat to humanity. Over 150 million people were murdered by communism in the 20th century. We will not let it happen again.

The only sad thing here are clueless individuals like yourself that act as if history always began yesterday and think listening to loons like Zinn is an act of intellectualism - it's not.

  • Well, a couple of major issues there. Firstly Zinn does not push communism, he is an anarcho-syndicalist, much like Chomsky. Secondly, communism did not kill 150 million people, no form of government kills people. It is the individuals behind the government, and the governments you refer to were Stalinist and Maoist, not communist. Thirdly, who many people have died as a result of American action?

  • And finally I do not find it any more intellectual then listening to Bolten, or the likes. I just find it more ensightful.

  • Capitalistic "adventures" and organized religion, throughout human history, have killed far more people than communism. The Soviet Union under Stalin was not a Marxist, communistic, or socialist society. Unfortunately, it became totalitarian rather than socialistic. Listen carefully to what Zinn is really saying.

  • @rowleyda1 you are mistaken with your numbers, there is no comparison, not even close.

Please do not hand me that liberal line of crap about the Soviet Union not being communist. Communism enables totalitarianism. The bottom line is, you don't get to kill another 150 million+ in pursuit of your ideal utopia in the 21st century.

Zinn was an avowed communist. Too bad he is gone, he should have been put on trial for treason and given the same sentence as the Rosenbergs.

  • Nothing in the US Constitution prevents free association or forbids any person from joining any political party whatsoever. The Rosenbergs were given the death penalty because they were accused of spying. Zinn is entitled to free speech. To infer this brilliant man deserves the death penalty is ludicrous and has absolutely no legal merit.

Read the Communistic Manifesto and then you will understand.

  • @rowleyda1 crawl back into your hole. Your utopian fantasy failed in every undertaking. It's over and we will never let happen again.

  • Never get angry when you debate. My fantasy has not failed -- there is still and will continue to be socialism -- even in this country -- yes, the USA. True democracy is the road to socialism. Total equality for all! Look at what predatory capitalism did to this country under GWB! I'm afraid it failed miserably -- but the rich did get richer! Is that what you really want?

  • democracy enables totalitarianism too.

  • @aicram62 nice to see you have the standard head in ass liberal grasp of moral equivalence.

  • @AtlasObjectivist seems to me you have never read a book on subject, except(judging by your username) Ayd Rand, which is nothings to brag about

  • Damn, Zinn is fuckin' old!

  • i love my history teacher, he assigned Zinn, and then had us read multiple essays criticizing him. If you read "Howard Zinn's Biased History" by Daniel Flynn, you almost CAN'T agree with Zinn.

  • Howard is a Communist Moaist sympathizer. He is a traitor in the United States of America!

His lies are being taught in the public schools across this nation.

I am outraged and will fight to to remove him from the educational system!

This man is a 1960's radical drug induced LIAR!

  • Of course, you're unable to point out a single WORD Zinn said as being a "lie," he's only a "traitor" those who are the REAL traitors, who've put wealth hoarding ahead of true democracy and equality in this nation. Zinn's a true patriot. You want him removed from the educational system because the TRUTH he's teaching makes the corrupt bastards we were taught to blindly worship look bad.

  • Howard Zinn is the most important living American.

  • @lynchmobb2000 time to update your post LOL.

  • I love his book A People's History of The United States and The Sopranos episode where it (and its themes) makes an appearance was very interesting.

  • I live in the US and discovered The Hour on Youtube. This is definitely one of the best talk shows i've seen. I enjoy watching George Stroumboulopoulos' interviews b/c they are always interesting and insightful.

  • I don't think we get it here in the Boston area.

  • This is one of the best talk shows today. Stroumboulopoul should be commended for his solid work. He is smart and has real people on his show talking about the real world. Great show!
