I don't care what anybody says. No one else in the entire history of figure skating has even attempted to do what she has. Surya pushed the envelope and brought excitement to the sport. She was always the "black" sheep. And you can take that how you want to. But you can never take away her backflip landing on 1 blade lol No other woman or man has done that on planet earth assholes lmao
also it looked like she did a half rotation in the beginning with one blade still on the ice. and if she came down too early from that then it means she pretty much did a triple
Absolutely nowhere near rotated. Surya often ruined her programmes by trying jumps she could not do. She would often tack an under-rotated triple toe on the end of another triple - and, quite rightly, she got marked down for it. Her artistry and style improved towards the end of her amateur career but she still used to try things she couldn't do. A skater with great potential initially who had bad coaching imho.
She was a brilliant jumper but didn't have enough grace when I watched her compete - which WAS a while ago. Nobody could out jump her though and she got miffed at not doing better in the standings because she felt that her abilities were so far above everyone elses. But she lacked polish and grace in her programs and that's what cost her marks.
that sucks she is missing 1/4 to get it ratified

@Only1KingPen - she was a GREAT athlete ...and a pretty good skater but she'll never be considered one of skating's greats.
