It is a combination of Chinese-North Korean communist regime theme. Some speak Chinese, others Korean, and clearly the "leader" and the written language are Korean. The music background sounds more like Chinese than Korean. The theming the same for both nation: the mass celebration, the parading army, the loudspeaker, the cult of personality -- ubiquitous leader's portrait, the seemingly its enthusiastic people, etc. Surprisingly, the main character is able to become obese.
