At 5:37 does anyone catch what the customer asks the attendant? Something about memory and the attendant says it's easily upgraded from 1 megabyte. Seems a bit low for 1991, if he's referring to RAM? The Macintosh Plus came out in 1986 with 1 meg of RAM standard, the Mac Classic 2 in 1991 with 2 meg...although I suppose there's a difference between "released" and "affordable"!

@mickjt84 They were probably talking about an Amiga computer (probably an Amiga 2000), which came with 1 MB of RAM.

That was a Game & Watch, not a Nintendo DS, although it was made by Nintendo too. And this show was made in 1991.

I wish Emily Rodda would write a third book in the series, and that book was made into a new series. Modern special effects would allow us to see a lot more of the other dimension! I would SO love to see where the barrier guards live, what is in that world besides the Channel 8 building and the barrier, what else they can do with their technology...

Just a little correction - Finders Keepers has been aired multiple times on the ABC since its 1991 debut. I remember watching it in the mid-1990s. :)

just found it via the imdb board for an obscure australian film called 'frog dreaming' (aka the quest) which also took about 15 years for me to identify! i'm gonna start watching this from the beginning now as i dont think i ever saw the whole series. thanks for uploading it!

for years i have had the robot with the shiny face stuck in my head, i never knew what this was called, i couldn't find it anywhere, i ended up thinking i had dreamt it and was chasing a dream. I finally stumbled across a picture of the robot a few months ago and almost **** myself, good to see other people remember it too and also funny to see other people thought it was a dream. Fully enjoyable show ill have to set aside some time to watch it all again.

FInally...I thought I made this show up in my head. In the U.K it was just called "The Finder" cos there was already a show called "Finders Keepers". Used to be shown on Channel 4

By the way, if anyone is wondering what game is being played at the 6 minute mark, it is Shadow Of The Beast, and it's being played on an Amiga 1000, which is actually an old system for 1991, as it was released in 1987 and discontinued in 1991. So, the computer being sold in the store would not really be there. The book came out in 1991 too so there's no excuse. The Amiga was and still is a fantastic system though, the 1985 machine still surpassing PC 1991 graphics at the time.

Oops, I mean the 1000 was released in 85 and the A500 in 87.

@mickjt84 That's an Amiga 2000, not an Amiga 1000. It was succeeded by the Amiga 3000 in 1990, but the Amiga 3000 was very expensive when it came out, as the A2000 was when it was new because both computers were aimed at the professional market. It's not inconceivable that some A2000s were never sold until 1991, and then stores offered them as low-end machines.

It's not available on any official DVD.

It's pretty much the rarest TV show I know of. Only months after I purchased a corporate copy from the ABC, they stopped selling it... now it's literally impossible to buy it properly.
