    <333 Animal Collective Forever:D <333

  • I like 0:00 - 7:33

  • Omg I want to be Panda Bear's microphone.

  • Panda Bear or Andrew Vanwyngarden?

  • @MissSurealist They're both sick as fuck.

  • @MissSurealist PANDA BEAR

  • this is God!

  • WHITE PEOPLE.

  • Interesting how they're playing this song in 2007, two years before Merriweather Post Pavilion came out. I hope that's not the case with the new songs they played live this year.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=25dVNSDFuK8

    brother sport remix

  • is it just me but this song never gets old

  • @sfdallator That's how I feel about Animal Collective in general, lol

  • @6:33 Pic unrelated O_o

  • too hip for my liking

  • fuck people who dislike this

  • How is this only at 70K, I alone have watched it 1,002 times!

  • shock and awe

  • If they did gigs like Dan Deacon or Lightning Bolt where they set up in the crowd instead of on stage, they would have the greatest shows in the universe

  • Whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo

  • @laforzaflandria

that better be the right amount of whoos.

  • Avey's introductory whooping is so cute.

His endurance screams are even better.

  • panda bear's a beast

  • what's crazy is, i don't think the people there had any idea what was going to hit them by the time Merriweather Post Pavillion came around... amazing.

  • This song is so joyous. It feels like Africa. Or something. Makes me happy anyway.

  • this is my favorite fucking animal collective song and I am never embarrassed when I start to dance when I'm on the train

  • This is the greatest performance of this song. Prolly even better than the studio version

  • You got Animal Collective's "Brother Sport", you got Panda Bear's "Bros".... the 2000s were definitely the decade of the Bro.

  • Some of the lyrics you put down are incorrect. For example, it's "Until fully grown" and not "You're halfway grown". No big deal, just saying. Great song and this live version of it is my favorite though in general they're more of a studio band ie they're not as good live as they are on record.

  • @MorfGworfmim thats deakin

  • Comment removed

  • @MorfGworfmim deakin!

  • yea i was like wtf haha

  • the face scared the shit out of me

  • its Deakin

  • @MorfGworfmim

yeah, that was a goofy smile brah

  • What's with the random picture of deakin?

  • subliminal messaging anyone...?

  • Why isn't EVERYONE bouncing !?? God i wish I'd been there :)

  • not that its any of ANY ONES business but ...

speaking of being stoned i like to eat way to much...like 3 meals at once

and if i watch a few "24"'s Ive previouly tivoed

( or even just straight uncut network tv )......

    its like being drunk

    intoxicated if you will.....

oh.... and i know you will

  • @Archetype77 Third time's the charm, huh? And yes, I will go listen to better music, thank you.

  • @DrWhiggs Thanks for pointing out that the commenting wasn't working right for me ; ) Enjoy your simple music for your like mind

  • @Archetype77 Enjoy your sub-par Talking Heads knockoff.

  • @DrWhiggs If youre calling animal collective a "sub-par talking heads ripoff" you're the world's biggest fucking idiot. This is coming from a huge talking heads fan.

  • @oogaboogan I guess you're right, they really only stole the stealing African rhythms part; the shrieking and grinding repetitiveness are all their own.

  • Your taste in music is sub-par.

  • @oogaboogan These guys don't play instruments, can't sample for crap, and have zero, no, NEGATIVE stage presence. And I won't be awed by boring, derivative, electro-twaddle like this.

  • It's very simple - your brain is leaking vital fluids.

  • @oogaboogan So you don't have a rebuttal? That's not particularly surprising. You thrive on the least challenging, lowest-common-denominator music. I surprised your eyes don't point in different directions.

    OR DO THEY?!!?!

  • "You thrive on the least challenging, lowest-common-denominator music"

Spoken like a true hypocrite. The pretentiousness is so thick I could cut it with a knife.

  • @oogaboogan These twerps will never acquire the critical or artistic credibility of groups like Joy Division or the Replacements. You'll just have to learn to live with that.

  • You are musically retarded, that was all the proof I (or anyone else) will ever need.

  • @oogaboogan Oh, man, you're serious, aren't you? You don't know anything, AT ALL, about music and you have a cow for a head.

  • amazing band and music, hopefully i forget they play synthesizers

  • pmsl wen tht guy keeps screaming at around 3:30 lmfao

  • these guys are so stoned

  • i like that avey tare doesnt do shit but yell in this one.

  • @Thirdboy5 and sing backup and control a few of the synths and play two parts of the rhythm....?

  • LMFAO! audience is so obviously stoned

  • Well aren't you a cool cat for noticing?

And really, how can you actually tell? What are the signs? Where is the sound of their voice or the red in their eyes or the smell of their clothes that could possibly tell you this? Their movement isn't even that sluggish.

  • thats panda my friend. no deakin.

  • @smilingpinkballoon he was talking about the flash picture of deakin. not saying he was in the preformance.

  • 1:53 wft?

  • @IDidTheKone lol Random pic of Deakin

  • @IDidTheKone I know, seriously! What fe thuck.

  • @IDidTheKone hahahhaha

  • deakon got me scurrd

  • MAAAAAAAAAAATT

  • 3:08 scared me.

    fantastic song.

  • why is the audience so still? if i ever had the pleasure of attending an AC concert i would be freaking out, especially if they played brother sport. pshhh.

  • I know! I saw them at Lollapalooza this summer, and the crowd went INSANE when they played Brother Sport...We did a call and response to Avey's yelping. What a fantastic night.

  • agreed, wansn't there at lolla, seen the videos, tho

they did an equally insane bro sport at bonnaroo too, the crowd was absolute shit, but that didnt stop me from going batshit, ha

  • I'm loving all these early versions of brother sport. it's like one of my fave songs ever and avey yelping is simply a delight for my soul.

  • Les amis, c'est un sacré moment que ce morceau. Formidable, tellurique, jouissif.

  • I don't know about everyone else, but for me, Avey whooping and hollering from 2:56 on is just pure, out-of-control bliss.

  • Who's the assface at 1.52?!!?? there's a subliminal frame lol

  • deakin

  • that's freaking deakin, twat

  • Try to take this not as a stupid stoner comment, but how do they make sense of all that when their completely sober, which is how I heard they write and perform their music? I mean I have listened to these songs a ton of times, but they only really shine the brightest stoned because I have the patients to listen to all the interlocking syncopated (which literally means 'to affect by swooning' and is quite appropriate here) patterns.

  • Though I don't doubt that this song warrants and rewards use before listening, I've never had problems drawing from it deep meaning and experience while sober.

I guess it's often a case of drugs being useful in refining a person's acuity in feeling and understanding art if they're needded, but at some point, wouldn't relying on them regularly become a hindrance? I don't mean to offend, just wondering what you think.

  • Yea i would agree that at some point drugs become a hindrance. I always use sparingly and not everyday

  • Cool, good job looking up syncopated. You can't spell patience you're a poser get a life.

  • MAAAAAAAAAATT

  • that was so fucking good.

  • This is so much better than the album version...

  • Agreed!

The studio version is fine, but the aesthetic changes that were made (even affecting the way the verses are sung) were upsetting after hearing it live. I attended the 1/21 show at the Bowery, and it was performed flawlessly, especially Avey's shouts. Incredible song.

  • I love their exuberance!!! Alot of people get weirded out by the screaming but I love it. It's so tribal and cathartic. Their music is so fresh, unjaded and full of energy. It makes me wonder why so many other bands are so subdued all the time. (not that I don't appreciate that too, but it's very refreshing to hear the other end of the spectrum.)

  • and the blend of african sounds.. is brilliant!

  • nice , wow really really good arrangement of electronic music.

  • What are about the lirycs, incest?

  • No, I think the song is about letting go of the past. And kind of finding your own voice - different than the voice your parents gave you!!

  • the midle part is so psycodelic, i love it !! XD

  • brilliant.

    = )

  • Err, i really doubt that. It seems to me that its more about maturity, a coming to age, hence the primal shouts.

  • i wish the song was like this on the album, with the samples being played and tested first

  • OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!

  • are you talking to me, you motherfucker? Come to me and I cut your balls off, same as what happened with the singer from this band

  • then it's a good thing I have a vagina! :D

  • love this album

  • this song is one of my favorite off the album.

  • 1:55 sooooooooooooo creepy why do thay flash deken

  • WOOP WOOP

  • I think they're talking to each other when they yelp at the beginning while setting everything up. Cause before they start the songs it sounds like Panda's saying "Alright, let's go".

  • wowowowowowowowowoowwo!

  • best live brothersport i've heard next to the 09 npr one.

  • Nah this beats it all. But the npr one, goddammit I love panda's yelling along with avey in the midsection.

  • Man if only I decided to study in Lyon a year earlier....

  • madness!

  • muiiiiito foda esses caras adooorei o som!! *82

  • that's Deakin from the band.

he wasnt playin the show though.... don't why his face shows up weird

  • fuck you!

  • Merriweather Post Pavilion is my favorite album from them.

    :D

  • I realized after I posted this that it was in the description. Oops.

  • best performance of the song

  • holy fuck, insane song

  • nice. this is one tripped out band. gonna have to get some of them

  • wersja na żywo brzmi jeszcze lepiej niż studyjna.niesamowity kawałek!

  • Zgadzam się.

  • One of my favorit !:)

  • Haha, 3:09

  • sooo good. chills, everytime.

  • perfect

  • Could someone fill me in on what the hell's going on with Deacon? I miss him so much. I mean, I love AC more than ever still, but c'mon, they don't play Reverend Green live anymore because he's not around. I heard that his dad died and that he was taking time off but that was like 2 years ago. Where's Deacon??

  • A father's death is a crazy thing - any parents' is. Be easy on him.

  • I'm pretty sure that this song is for Noah's (Panda Bear) brother Matt.

But yes, I couldn't imagine the loss of my father... this Animal Collective song, with it's innocent and brutally honest subject matter, solidifies that this could be the band of our generation. Thoughtful, yet simple lyrics meshed with dense sounds and rhythms that unfold into fucking bliss! I hope this song can help anyone cope with a loss.

"You've got to weigh what he said,

He helped you shape the way you play"

  • if I were on a lot of LSD listening to this live I might have to walk out and take a rest.....this song is great

  • Heaven.

  • Some of the other AC songs aren't as good live, but this one is as good as it could possibly be.

  • How does Avey not completely kill his vocal chords on this song?

  • it is deacon awa awaw aw nawh it made me laugh aw lilltltlltllittle dek

  • wtf is 1:52

  • its the missing 4th band members face i think

  • its deaks!

  • This is awesome. Thanks a lot.

  • you got to open up your open up your open up your AAAAAAAAAAA

  • best song ever

  • The amount of jammy win that radiates from this song every time it's performed is just ridiculous and absurd.

  • i would do anything to see animal collective live

  • Reminds me of Mario Cart on the SNES.

  • You should listen to the last half of Water Curses then...I swear Nintendo music is their #1 inspiration.

  • AHAAHAHAHAH funny

  • haha

  • the lyrics are almost 100% entirely wrong.

  • haha omg you're right

  • The album's perfect. Basically.

  • beethousand, I think it might be Noah's brother Matt.

Brother Sport is about Noah and Matt dealing with their father passing.

Or it could just be the editor/camera guy spliced in? xD

  • We love you in Los Angeles, pls come t0 LA

  • and 1:53 shits creeping me out

  • 3:08 what the fuck?

  • Makes me want to rip off my nipples and run into traffic! :D

  • Haha! Nice. :P

  • still amazing

  • animal collective nice...

    panda bear, the shitness!

  • a masterpiece

  • I love the screaming.

  • Avey Tare must definitely be on some kind of trance, otherwise I can't explain how he manages not to strain his vocal chords.

  • merriweathers gonna be amazing

  • Oh it fucking IS.

Don't worry I'm buying it when it comes out officially, but TORRENT THAT SHIT NOW.

  • Torrents are awful. Use megauploads and mediafires and such.

  • Hahahaha

  • haha

you are wrong in every way

  • Okay, well then MEGAUPLOAD THAT SHIT NOW.

    Explanation: I don't download music. =\

  • I listened to this one 15 times in a row, just like any other AC's bomb

  • haha are you serious

  • HIPSTER THIS HIPSTER THAT...before hipsters people gang bang (Not porno style) on Emos, goths, skids, guidos...LABELS!

Do i dress like hipster? NO I dress like a hobo...LABELS!

AM I REALLY ALL THESE THINGS THAT ARE OUTSIDE OF ME? - HELL NO!

Even the whole republican, democrat, neo conservative...LABELS!!!! FUCK LABELS! FUCK WORDS! FUDGE!

YES! The screaming after awhile is annoying, i fast forward it sometimes until the 4:10 mark when it blends in better before that time its really off course

  • Labels are like words, for example, chair - has 4 legs, or amp - blah or monkeys - brown... get it?

  • i don't think of "blah" when i hear "amp" or "brown" when i hear "monkey".... You're crazy...

However i agree with what's being said...
