They need to make a requirement before people buy Call of Duty and any other war game out there that they have served in the military, because way too many people think because they have a high rank on a video game they think they could do this. It is ridiculous when people trash talk this. They get winded going from the couch to the x-box...and that is with the power button on the controller. Shut up and be thankful these guys tried it!
@SUPERTASKFORCE0 oh ok well thanks for the info armchair general the Rangers would be so lost without you thank god you showed up to show them the way
I can tell you what you will run into in Florida, Water Moccasin's posionous Eastern Dimondbacks poisonous Coral Snakes Very poisonous Copperheads posionous, Gators, Hogs, Bobcats, regular Black Racers (non posionous) Rare a Florida Panther.
rangers and marines are completely different. rangers are a special forces assault unit and marines are an entire branch of infantry. a better comparison would be rangers and a marines special task force
if you are an officer from another branch of military and you pass the ranger course do you keep your rank or do you start from the most junior officer rank?
@foodmore No idea, I just know that during training you'll be referred to as "sergeant" or whatever your rank is in the Army. Not sure if you pass the course though.
why people comparing marines and rangers..im a ranger and i have the upmost respect for marines and rangers or anybody in the military for that matter...what marines and rangers have to go through is one of a kind they both have excrutiating training and god damn good at what they do.....i find the two to be ver similiar...marines first in last out/ retreat..hell we just got here/ rangers lead the way
Because the guy who was standing there was black. Don't make it racial. There were plenty of other black guys who didn't have anything thrown at them.
Look, I'm not a marine or ranger (yet), but after looking through the entire courses for rangers and marines, ranger school looks twice as hard as marine boot camp.
@RichardGrantV 1. its bootcamp (most are more likely to have NO military experiences) 2. by comparing bootcamp to ranger school says a lot about how hard core Marines are 3. according to these videos, the Marines went thru it with ease. 4. @TUFFGUNN I have seen marine boot camp and it does not come close even with the crusable and the one marine who made was just high speed he would have made nomatter what
"Hooah" is an expression of high morale, and high motivation. It also can be used to show understanding, instead of saying, "Yes" or "Roger that." but it means pretty much the same thing.
@Algastar So many uneducated comments... BUD/s trainees get to go home on the weekends, take regular showers, and only have food depravation during hell week, which isn't a week but 5 days... Rangers can also be combat divers btw.
@bleushift They're both tier 2 idiot and they both handle gray operations, not video game black ops shit that you probably already shitted on yourself with. And Algastar had to chime in again of course, because he knows what he's talking about...
Its a war cry and an activity used typically by the USMC to motivate the men. However, I've seen army personnel do the same thing which is quite odd. I might be wrong about the USMC doing it.

You do not "join" the Rangers, you offer yourself for consideration and a Ranger panel consisting of senior enlisted and officer Rangers evaluate your ability and compentency. If accepted, you attend the Ranger Assessment Phase 1, then Airborne Basic School, complete Phase 2, then are obligated to attend the Ranger School when a slot becomes available. But this is all after you've demonstrated excellent ability as an Infantryman for a period of several months. Finally you enter a Ranger Bn.
@blinzler188 Hooah (hü-ä or who-ah) is a U.S. Army battle cry. It is used by US Army soldiers "Referring to or meaning anything and everything except no". The most appropriate response to the question, "Hooah?" is the exclamation, "Hooah!!"
@blinzler188 Originally it was an acronym H.U.A. Which mean Heard, Understood, Acknowledged. Now it is more of hooah, which normally means "THat was the right thing to do" or it is a rally cry.
@blinzler188 it means anything lol. if u enlist, youll understand that. SGT tells u to clean, hooah sgt. sgt tells u ur a POS, hooah sgt. says u fucked up, hooah. u just graduated ranger school, HOOAH!

God, I love Rangers. Granted, I love anyone that has served the USA, be a Marine, Squid, SEAL, whatever, man. Any vet from any time period deserves as much respect you can give them, in my humble opinion.
ranger students are allowed 10 packs of gum per phase. Some time in late 90's/early 00's gum replaced 10 cans of dip or packs of chewing tobacco that was allowed in the course until some fags complained. Gum actually sucks, it makes you more hungry.
Okay, someone plz reply with a source - a MARINE can try out for rangers - is this while he is in the USMC or is it after his obligation with that service (re-up in a diff. branch???)
@SSAufklaerer just to clear this up once and for all because i see this question alot. a marine can go through any school in the army, navy, or airforce. he can become spec-ops qualified in any and he is still a "MARINE" no one can take that title away from him. he still answers to the commandant of the marine corps even though he is ranger qualified. however if a a army "SOLDIER" wanted to become a marine and become a Recon Marine he would have to go through our basic training first.
I look back now,and I' went through Ranger school( class 3/81) before any of these guys,& some of the RI's were even born..Makes me feel old..I got go's on 6 of 7 patrols..It was fucking freezing in the Mtn & Florida phase..A couple of guys got frost bite & one guy lost his leg in Florida after a jump..Got twisted in some power lines..It was a big accomplishment to make it through..I still feel proud that I did it
Shit. my friends dad went through this. and call me crazy, but i want to go through it too to become a ranger. Shit, after seeing this, it makes basic look like a kindergarten gym class
how could u dislike this

ranger students are allowed 10 packs of gum per phase. Some time in late 90's/early 00's gum replaced 10 cans of dip or packs of chewing tobacco that was allowed in the course until some fags complained. Gum actually sucks, it makes you more hungry.

Okay, someone plz reply with a source - a MARINE can try out for rangers - is this while he is in the USMC or is it after his obligation with that service (re-up in a diff. branch???)
SSAufklaerer 1 year ago
