"Truly..God... now commands ALL MEN EVERYWHERE to repent." Acts 17:30 . "And when he (The Holy Spirit) is come, he will convince THE WORLD of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:" (John 16:8) . "[Jesus] was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world." (John 1:9) . 1. God commnads ALL men to repent, and 2. convinces THE WORLD by his Holy Spirit. 3. Jesus enlightens EVERY MAN that comes into the world . "choose this day who you will serve" (Josh 24:15)
Mark 9:45 "And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:" Whosover that believes that only some are predestined, please, address if Mark 9:45 is directed towards the predestined of your view or the people that are not predestined in your view, or both.
@Forlifeandeternity ...Im assuming you agree with Driscolls view of Predestination. If So, you answering "Both." presents a probelm. Why would Christ command someone that's GOING TO BE SAVED, regardless, to cut off their foot since it could prevent them from being saved, by faith, of course? There would be no reason to give such command. Do you see what I'm sayin'?
@ThePottersvessel God commands all men everywhere to repent. This is an absolute command. We are to pluck sin out of our lives & cut it off in obedience to the Lord. The command to love God, love your neighbor & repent of sin is universal, given to ALL boys & girls, men & women, elect or non-elect.
@ThePottersvessel I believe in degrees of sin & degrees of punishment. The person who is eventually regenerated will be glad to have plucked out their eye or cut off their hand rather than to have sinned against God & their neighbor. The person who never savingly believes upon Christ will be punished MORE or LESS in hell, depending on how much they have sinned. No matter what the person's situation, they must cut off sin.
@ThePottersvessel No one will ever be SORRY for having spurned sin. Each sin (great or small) in thought, word or deed, has in itself the putrid poison of evil in it. Some more, some less. Who would every regret having not sipped or gulped from poison?
"The true doctrine having been explained, the Synod rejects the errors of those:
Who teach...common grace (by which they understand the light of nature), or the gifts still left him after the fall, that he can gradually gain by their good use a greater, namely, the evangelical or saving grace and salvation itself. And that in this way God on His part shows Himself ready to reveal Christ unto all men, since He applies to all sufficiently and efficiently the means necessary to conversion."
@RedBeetle What the Synod described in that quote is not what Mark Driscoll is affirming in this clip. In fact, the Synod was not rejecting common grace, they were rejecting the idea that natural man can come to saving grace by means of common grace. In other words, they were rejecting the Wesleyan idea of prevenient grace. Mark Driscoll does not affirm this, see his youtube video on Calvinism and Arminianism for his outright rejection of it.
Common Grace is heresy. It's dressed up Arminianism at its best, and flat out Pelagianism at its worst. Common Grace denies the Absolute Predestination of God and an asserts human free-will.

The one time "common grace" is used in a Reformed Creed, it is condemned: Canons Of Dordt, Head 3/4, Error and Rejection #5.
