  • never laughed so hard

  • Very informative reference there; Tangled Up in Blue was even a pain for me to try and get, so some of the tips you provided throughout were a great help in keeping some of the weirder phrases to memory.

Keep up the great work for the blue side :D

  • Okay, now im scared.

  • Hey guys, I just got RB2, where can I find TUIB quickly?

  • Icemage...thanks alot man...i just got the fc 19 november 2010....all thanks to you...you dont realize how thankful i am of you...again...thank you

  • nice

  • Man, I can 100% painkiller, spoonman, master exploder...all those screamers but I tremble when this song comes up in the set list. 40 versus of erratic mummbling. The phrases are so weird to me and have all these quirky parts in them. I hate this song more than anything else in the game. I hate you Bob. You dont know how to sing. This isnt rock music. You should be on folk hero.

  • at 1:25 you weren't lying about that being a tricky phrase. i've nailed that phrase down like twice out of the dozens of times doing this song

  • i actually can sing this 100% On expert too (: Only girl I know that can do that XD

  • Congrats on getting this video back -- I knew that the fair use defence for this video was pretty solid, and apparently so does Sony.

As for the song itself, I probably won't FC until Rock Band 3 with (hopefully) a real vocals practice mode. I have hit every single phrase in the song in separate runs and can consistently hit the "froze up inside", just keep missing other phrases (I've hit "over my shoulder" all of once ever). But this video is a HUGE help -- helped me get gold stars a while ago

  • Dude, thank you SO much for this video. I finally got this song just now after five final verse chokes, and it's all down to you. I owe you, seriously. I love you so, so much.

Will you... will you be my husband?

  • @YewbSH Excellent! Glad to hear the video helped! (Will have to pass on the marriage offer though... ) :-)

  • my RB2 friend code is 221982242263.

  • ADD ME on the PS3 and YOUTUBE and I'll do the same. WE could probably make some video too, I make my videos with a HD video converter. Thanks my name on the PS3 is Gabesterr_Online.

  • I think Maggies Farm or Like A Rolling Stone would have been a better choice of songs for Dylans addition to RB.

  • i admire you very much jim :D

  • Great job, Ice!

  • The hardest thing about this song IMO is that I love the song, so when it's charted differently than what I think/know I've heard millions of times before, I have to relearn the whole song because volume changes are charted inconsistantly

  • Very very useful "tutorial"! Thx.

  • I really dunno whats so hard about this song, i say painkiller is TONS more harder, I got 87% on this last time i tried expert and i FAILED on painkiller!

  • Painkiller is definitely harder to /pass/ than Tangled Up in Blue, but Tangled Up in Blue is far, far harder to get 100% on. Once you learn the little quirks you can get a perfect run on Painkiller every single time. I don't know anyone who can FC Tangled Up in Blue on demand (myself included).

  • @IcemageJT I suck at vocals, but I also don't really see the imba in this. It's not easy, but it ain't that hard imo. Spoonman is 1000 times harder.

  • Spoonman isn't nearly as hard to get 100% on as Tangled Up in Blue on Expert vocals. There's weird notes in both songs, but Tangled is much longer, has a lot more strange things going on in the melody. I can FC Spoonman on demand, but Tangled is a dice roll - I might FC it one time in three because it's hard to remember all the weird little variations and perform them correctly.

  • I don't know, maybe it's because I don't listen to Spoonman outside of Rock Band, but I just can't really hit the double key change in the "main" phrase (Feel the rythm with your hand...steal the rythm while you can..Spoonman) while I can hit most of the TuiB phrases. I think I could theoratically FC it if there was a phrase by phrase training mode, but Spoonman would be much harder. Maybe it's me, maybe it's because I am fairly new to expert vocals. But I did hit the Run phase in Panic Attack.

  • @IcemageJT This. Spoonman was 99% for my first 5 or 6 runs, and then 100% consistently.

Tangled up in blue was 94% my first time, and after a couple hours I haven't FC'd it yet. Going to just leave it for another day :p

  • Oh my gah this song is a nightmare, your video helped me ALOT! Thanks(:

  • very useful and good job. i can pass this song but only with four stars. :D

  • I dunno if I've ever mentioned how helpful your videos are. Well, they are. Very very helpful.

Now I just need a new mic to replace the one I smashed in frustration at Pinball Wizard and Alive... >_>

  • Wait it says no overdrive will be used... for the tournament

  • It's not really a tournament, just sort of a community challenge to see how well we can do. The overdrive is mostly to keep vocal tracks from getting the player's voice drowned out by the overdrive echo effect, but that's not really an issue with the way I record my video.

  • No I think the "no overdrive" rule was to prevent out-pathing. Like you said, you're path wasn't optimal, so someone could have easily beaten your score if they just tried for days on days with the optimal path.

  • Nicely done. Seems like the extra few notes you have on me on the lowest end of our respective voices helps you out a lot here with being able to drop everything an octave--I can't do that and hold combo.

  • Tangled Up in Blue. That's it. I declare Jim as "mighty deity of being cool for cats" and "master of can has epic vox."

  • Jesus Christ, you have no idea how much TROUBLE I have with this song! Thank you SO much with uploading this. I'll use this as a guideline later on.

  • 2nd tangled up in blue took me forever to figure out

  • hmm the challenge on scorehero says no overdrive =P does that mean ull have to do another fc? thatd be a pain..

tho theres no doubt ud be able to do it again. u were absolutely amazing, yet again

  • Props. This song is PRICK!

  • First of all ICE, the fact that you were able to sing this song so flawless and easily is very admirable. Also, your lower octave throughout this song actually fit very well. I believe you did a great job on this. THIS IS NOT AN EASY SONG FOR ANYBODY.. Nicely done

  • Thanks! This song makes me just as angry as everyone else - perhaps more so since I know I "can" FC it, but don't often get it. It took me about 2 hours to get this run with lyrics intact.

  • no offense dude but you kinda' sound like Quagemyer from family guy

  • Have you ever heard Bob Dylan? He does too. ;-)

  • ROFL THATS SO TRUE he does sound like him lmfao

  • I can 100% this song on Expert, but I can't with any other song. :(

    Great job! Nice accent too.

  • Dude, if you have the ability to 100% this song on Expert Vocals...the rest of the disk songs would be a cake walk..

  • Would you mind annotating the phrases like you did in All Right Now? This song kicks my ass EVERY time I play it and I need all the help I can get ^^;

    Thanks!

  • I'll see what I can do. :)

  • jeez. nice fc. i can barely 5 star this o.O

  • im trying to do that too but the best i got was 97%...

  • gj as always
