@taxlnw Corpse Bride (the animated one), Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (they're all movies directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp)
-standing in applause and shouting- BAVO BRAVO! you're a genious! been looking for something amazing as this to play at a gothic wedding. Not only did i find the music but a video to boot. THANK YOU ~mmuah~
@arraceline This music is not Tim Burton's, it is the "Danse Macabre" of Camille Saint-Saëns. And this is really an akward bad version of it. You will find in youtube plenty of versions much better than this poor one...
AMAZING!!! absolutley brilliant! you've combined Tim Burton, Mr Depp and Danse Macabre...what more could I ask for?! the ending left me wanting more, but I must commend you on the video you did better than I could ever do myself and more putting this beautiful video out in the world I must say thank you! :)
Yes, this song was featured in Grimm last night, actually it's what inspired me to search Dance Macabre on here. Also featured in the most recent Jameson's whiskey commercial "the Hawk of Achyll". This is a great version with the strings, orchestra and piano, the only problem is it cuts off towards the end when the video ends. Any idea who did this version of the song so I can buy it? I'd love to hear the whole thing in its totality. Thanks
@haaibaaithebest I think that means he's saying that he owns neither the music nor the movies used for the video; the vid itself doesn't count, since it's made from copyrighted material.
Friends of mine (well-known Classical musicians) want to perform this composition live. Can you pls tell me the exact name of this piece and where to get it?
This is amazing really good editing and love the music choice (its my fav. classical peice. god i sound old saying that T.T) love the film choices too ^.^
Any idea exactly what recording this is....? All the ones I find are "weak" in the strings- this one is all powerful and stuff. Does that make sense....? It would be greatly appreciated if anyone had any clue or indication as to what recording of this song this is....
You had it so perfect, building up to a great crescendo, especially at 5.10, but then you faded out arguably the most crucial part of the piece! When dawn comes, all the spooks fade away but you're left with just that touch of lingering menace; I was expecting your interpretation of this to be the perfect end...but all we get is credits and a fade out :(
PLEEEEEEASE finish it, it's too brilliant to end this way!
@tortygalore This video was hard for me to make and at the time I had trouble ending it. I understand that I did cut it off too soon but I was having difficulty finding clips to add at the end. I no longer have the footage from this video and do not intend to finish it at this point. Although, I am glad that you like it and I respect your opinion.
@pythonthepirate Ah what a shame! But thanks for doing it anyway - it's still the best one on you tube for this piece (and sorry if that came across a little over zealous, think I was having a passionate moment; hope you can forgive me as I in no way meant to belittle the time and effort you must have put into this!)
@pythonthepirate That's such a shame, as this is superb and to have the ending would be sublime. Still a great job though. Thanks for making what bit you did and sharing it with us all.
@tortygalore I agree...it should be finished! BTW, people often misuse the term crescendo. Crescendo means to gradually get louder; you can't build up to a crescendo, the crescendo IS the build-up. You build up or crescendo to a climax, but never to a crescendo. Just FYI.
@tortygalore For your information, this is the "Danse Macabre" of Saint-Saëns. You will find plenty of it out there, and all of them really much better than this akward bad version.
The original should be with a solo violin playing the part of the "aquelarre", not like here, where the first violin disappears (except to play the oboe part of the rooster, played here ¡by the misteriously disappeared violin!).
Check out there. Any version will be much better than this, and it will not be cut off...
This was ridiculously well done. I am simply in love with this piece. I think that the theme is the most beautifully haunting theme in the whole history of music.
