  • My instructor is forever whooping my ass with spider guard right now, and I'm having a world of problems stripping the spider guard grips off. Can't wait to try this.

  • Thanks! I was in this situation today. I got the right hand out, but couldn't free the other one. I'll try your solution.

  • passing a quality spider/ open guard is so damn hard. I dont get much practice at it because I am a guard player myself and this helped alot, thanks.

  • thankyou!!

  • Very informative. I always knew to swim the hands through but what I was lacking was the pressure with the knee. My opponents would often attack an arm or go for a triangle when I started to move my hands around but now that I know to keep the knee planted that won't be happening again.

  • I like that. I work a similar pass to attack the delariva. This is also good if he slides his trapping leg down to the guy's shin and simply steps his other foot by the hip instead of switching the hips and throwing the leg over.

  • THANK YOU!!! I have been having fits trying to work my way out of this position. We got a mountain man at my academy that gets me stuck there all the time. One time he was pressing so hard on my left bicep that my left shoulder felt like it coming out, it hurt an entire day. Can't wait to try this move, Thanks for the post!

  • great move, but still hard guard to pass.

  • love it, iv been looking for a pass like this.

  • Great move, thanks alot.

  • Nice..Gerald gets me stuck there all the time, so I'm going to try this. Looking forward to the seminar on the 21st.
