To visit Gaoth Dobhair, and to be immersed in the Irish language that still clings to life in this remote area, is to have a little bit of your soul awakened. The English language and the English ways come unnaturally to the Irish people......it is not the way we were born to be. Our blood is Irish, the blood of the 'savage' Gaels. To revive our true native ways is revive a dormant part of our soul. To lose the Gaeltacht areas would be to lose a national treasure.
