  • ...thats a lope...

  • @HunterJumper9824 yes it does matter,I don't know it is that way. I guess it's just the way it is done.

  • other then that, you rode him beautifully!

maybe a differnt bit? I don't know the show regs on bits though.

  • He is very lovely

  • What did you place?

I love the English pleasure because it's so relaxed. I love to see the the horse at ease with his mouth. English riding is all about collecting up the horse and being in his mouth with the bit. Your horse had very smooth gaits, as well as picking up his leads. I can really see the connection between horse and rider. Very, very good.

  • I wish we had comments about having a horses head tucked in too far in the arab world.... If their noses aren't touching their chests they aren't winning :(

  • So is English Pleasure just English riding? Thats what I got told.

  • @saraspiller It's english pleasure... that's how its supposed to look...? and just because his frame is low doesn't make him a western horse... just thought I'd put that out there.

  • He looks like a western mover.. really try to keep him western i could tell by his head set and how you were holding your reins so long..

  • @knicholson1993 That doesn't always mean they're western horses. For most english judges, they like the headset to be in line with the body, not a lower headset like this one. But it's perfectly fine, too. Many of my english friends have taught their horses to keep a low headset, and yet still place well in enlish classes.

And she was probably holding her reigns so long because this horse doesn't need a constant reminder to keep his head low.

    Overall, very good riding!

  • he just needs a bit more arch

  • whats the difference between hunter pleasure and english pleasure? why do u stand in stirrups at a canter in hunter but not in ennglish? just confused..if yall no then please reply to me!

  • @The4hcowgirl do you mean HUS? the difference between hunter under saddle and english pleasure is pretty simple- HUS you want your horse to move out more and ride how you would in a hunter over fences class. english pleasure you have a slower tempo, lower frame. both classes are judged on the horse.

  • does the trot diagonal when posting matter? because i want to do this, but suck at diagnols.

  • @HunterJumper9824 yes it does. theres a saying called "rise and fall with the leg on the wall" meaning your rise in the trot when the horses' outside leg is taking the step. and easy way to learn it is start sitting, feel your hips move side to side, and when you feel your hip is on the outside, start posting. to check look at horse horses' shoulder to see if your moving with it. i hope that makes sense XD

  • Beautiful hosrse!

  • gorgous horse! you guys are wonderful

  • I agree that her head was way too far behind the vertical, her canter was very nice, but again too much of in her face. I LOVE the speed of your canter though! In my mind perfect!

  • Who are you? I saw you posted earlier? Message me?

  • very nice horse really pretty mover and your a great rider + team. Just a tip try to keep your elbows in more and dont roll in your wrists in.

  • Realy nice transitions. He is very consistent. Nice horse, you're a great rider. You both make a great pair.

  • I show in MI too! [:

  • Horse must do rather well at western pleasure. low head and the canter is more of a lope. Do you show in both english and western?

  • posting a little too fast

  • Wow. what did you place in this class?

  • do you show in pa[westmoreland]? Your horse seems familiar, and his show name seems familiar too. -Nicole

  • I dont know anything bout english pleasure but I thought that was really good I wish I could just keep my horses head down I'm a show jumper....thats why.

  • Thanks. I tried a jumping clinic with this horse once and I got yelled at because I can't pick his head up enough to go over jumps. LOL.

  • @rungirl3 holding your hands higher helps alot. i had the same problem with my horse

  • your horse has really nice extension...but your hells were up and you need to work on your trot/canter up transitions..but otherwise nice job!!

  • I love his movement. Is he for sale?

  • Sorry, he was for sale August of 2007, and I sold him and no longer own him.

    Thank you though!

  • kortney palmatier i went to ER and swam and rode with you

  • ok, that's what I wondered. I definitely will go to fair, but I don't know about any of the shows.

  • your awesome becca are you going to come down to some of the shows this summer?

  • I am sorry, I don't know who you are?

  • the boring sports are not hard. like pleasure. trust me i do it all the time. in the western video do u only alow qh horse in the show or what. and i think u should a little bit more adavanced shows becuase ur horse is like a world champion. and u might wat to work on posting u over post. nice turns though a lot of peole dont even do that in shows in my classes though i am like the only one. but i have a morgan.

  • ur horsey reminds me of my horsey...

    VERY nice ride. (:

  • I thought you both did VERY well for your first English class. The horse was doing what he was bred to do. I know these types of classes seem so boring but it is the horsemanship's and the horse's skills that are being judged. 110 for the rider and 100 for the horse. And a true horse person whould understand that. The boring sports are usually the hard ones to do most of the time. Lol.

  • he is soo pretty and clean! he extends his legs at the trot very nicely.

  • You have a very pretty horse and did a great job. I'm certainly not a judge like the other poster, but it looked very smooth to me. I just don't see why so many folks on You Tube just seem to want to do nothing more than pick peoples videos and horses apart.

You know you have a good horse...don't worry about what others think.

  • im suure hes a really nice horse!!

its jsut too boring for meee

  • im not critizing ur horse i jsut dont like english pleasure its not intresting enough for me!!:). sry if i sounded like i was dissing ur horse.

  • adn my horse is also a quarter horse soo not all quarter horses act liek that

  • I know. . . . Did you read the first comment when I told about my other mare? Do you think I would sink lower to own another breed. (LOL, just kidding-- non-QH owners!!) :-D

  • yeai got my horse 90 days undersaddle and no i dont like when he bucks but id rather have a horse that has some spirit than a horse that is practicully dead in the show ring!

  • So basically you are putting me down. I really don't appreciate negative comments about my horse, you can criticize my riding all you want, but that horse's personality has let some kids enjoy horseback riding!!

  • I think your horse is absolutly AMAZING! He is so quiet and responsive. My own horse I used to ride was such a brat that you always had to stay focused and by the end of the class I was EXHAUSTED!

  • Thanks! He is an Appendix Quarter Horse. That's cool that you show AQHA. Someday I would like to. . .

  • yea trust my horse too we have a bond but he isent a push button horse that looks like hes sleepin when i ride him

  • How can you trust your horse if you like it to buck? I am confused. . . LOL. Don't think that I didn't have to work when I got him as a green 3-yr old, because I did.

  • And since I feel like I have to defend my horse, he's not a dead-beat. . . He knows his place to run is in the pasture, because he does sometimes, which does mean that he is a horse.

  • im not cristizing on this type of riding but i htink pleasure classes are soo boring. i would rather have a horse that spooks nad bucks once in a while then a horse that wins every class and that looks dead

  • I enjoy having a gelding that I trust ANYONE with--even if they have never ridden nor even seen a horse before. My other mare was such a brat when my friends rode her that I was actually afraid to put them on her. The trick is with this gelding is actually getting him to go. I now have legs of steel thanks to him. . .

  • ok so everyone has there opinions on types of horses they like and dont but that doesnt give you the right to be a jerk keep ur comments to urself if your going to be mean or say something to upset someone else

  • i posted those comments over a year ago!

my opinion has changed. and i wasnt trying to be a jerk i was stating my opinion. but i just started english pleasure this year so obviously mt opinion has changed.

  • @ashleyfield71 Okay you guys, well you all stop fighting? Yea, she was not right to post that comment and it was mean since alot of us most likly do english pleasur but she posted it over a year ago and she said she changed so stop.

  • Comment removed

  • excuse me?

  • that was to your comment about how "boring" english pleasure is

  • and if u saw the other comments i wrote you will notice that i have since changed my decision beucase i now show my horse in english pleasure wich u can see in my videos of my horse lucky.

  • well then i am sorry i didn't read further into your comments.

  • Wow I own a horse named Solo, too! His show name is Soloist, though. My boy is an Arab/Quarter Cross. :)

Great riding. I take it that (your) Solo was trained western first?

  • Yeah, He was trained western first.

  • well, how'd you do?! he is so gorgeous, even for a bay. i see what you are saying, the head is off but i'm sure it'll be much better next show ; ) Good luck.

  • Thanks, I ended up winning the class. Yeah, I have done really well since this class here.

  • By any chance does you horse Solo have a scar on his Right hip?

  • Yes!!! Who is this??

  • A friend of mine owned Solo when he was two. I fell in love with him instantly. My friend was very ill so she asked me to ride him for her. I only rode him for a short period of time, and took him to a couple of open shows. Unfortunately, some personal things happened with my friend and she was forced to get rid of him. I am so glad to see him doing so well :)Last I had heard, he was out of the state. Are you in Michigan?

  • You kind of post from your butt, but other than that, great job.

  • your lope was so beatuiful

  • cute!
