According to Luc Appermont, the presenter that evening, the bearded singer is Hans, a soccer player from Club Brugge (Bruges) b-team. They are students from the Bruges area in West Flanders, Belgium.
My goodness. This reminds me of the 1983 semi-final, where half the audience seemed to be Bart Kraell's fans. Seriously, horns like that should be saved for sports matches. As for the song itself... well, I sure wasn't expecting such a rousing reaction. Suffice it to say, though, a far superior song went to Dublin.
@setheurovision94 Indeed, I saw this only for the very first time a few days ago (I was only 2 years old, so of course I don't remember this) and I was astonished by the reception for this (the loudest of the entire evening). I love this, it's so kitsch with abysmal lyrics. But thank god indeed we sent Emly Starr :D
@MrEurocat Sure it was. Asides from being a good composition, well-performed by a good singer, an interesting routine and a catchy song. So, as you say, so bad.
