Is there ANY PLACE in the US to buy the fufu mortar and stick? I've tried the faux fufu with the potato flakes, etc. but it is NOT good. I want to make some real fufu, but I need the equipment. If anyone knows, please post it here. Thank you!

Hey, they don't sell them in Canada either, but my mum showed me a great alternative that tastes similar to the real fufu. You take a green plaintain (bodi3) , peel the skin and cut it into very thin slices. Then you boil it in water til it's cooked, and use your blender to puree it. Once that's done, pour it into your pot and add just enough of the potato flakes to make it a good consistency (so that when you[re done its not too hard). Put it on the stove and cook as usual.

i dont want my fingers to be gone. but it looks harmless.

cant they pound the fufu once every 4 seconds to give her enough time to turn it not ever second. gosh one little millisecond off and her fingers are gone!

oh well, i thought it's a delicious thing by itself. The texture must be rubbery and soft like kneaded flour. I'll rather have it with a vegetarian stew, since i'm vegetarian. i hope it will taste good ...whenever i taste it =P

it is. my husband likes me to make it. but i cant eat it. i cant even swallow my vitamin tablets, so fufu is impossible. as it is, his family (haitian) just thinks im some arrogant american who refuses to try new things. but i really cannot swallow it. i tried, and i puked in my hand. the fufu does taste bad without the sauce too.

One of the ONLY this i can remember iz the taste of pounded fufu, it taste muuuuuuuch better than stove top fufu, truss me. Healthier too, not like the stove top that givez u butt with the gut. Watch how ppl who juss eat the pounded have the nice ass WITHOUT the gut...
