@chowmeincorner obviously there is no copyright on the name HATTORI, so any American or Australian can go make a sword and call it Hattori or anything they want. I guess they can not call it SONY or HONDA or Toyota or Panasonic or Sharp etc because they are copyrighted.
There is historical Hattori, but probably they just watched the hollywood film "Kill Bill" and the sword forger in the film is called Hattori and thought it was cool...
@barbizanrocks true, but you are missing the point. The purpose of a cutting test is to show the quality of the edge and blade geometry. Two very important issues in cutting...water bottles are just a start. More impressive are the tennis balls being cut in mid air.

No doubt a very usefull tool for cutting up fruit. But I think I will stick to my semi auto 12 guage with 0-0 buck when it comes to home defense.
