Fiat Money is, by its very nature, debt. Each "dollar" is a bill of credit that must be borrowed into existence. Now think about that for a minute, if we must pay down the National Debt what will we use? If Fiat Money is used to pay the Debt and Fiat Money is, by nature, Debt then the government must borrow more Debt to pay its Debt.

Fiat Monetary Systems all fail because it is mathematically impossible for it to continue without massive irreversible insolvency, it becomes a credit failure.

Most of us do not understand how the Fed and US money works. If you do not you should learn - it isn't that complicated and you will be AMAZED about the ramifications!

What is amazing is that the FED has massive amounts of the "peoples" gold in storage, basically it has been "nationalized" by the government. Like Dr. Paul, I believe that a Competing Currency is the solution, then let the People decide which money to use. I guarantee you, if given the choice, the People will use gold or gold-back currency instead of Fiat Federal Reserve Notes.

Im all for individual liberty - who isnt. Im all for spending cuts. So is everyone else. I just dont buy the slick phrases Paul uses about strict construction..I know too much history, of how that crap was used, in the past. We need openness and transparency, and fundamental rights.

Be careful of "strict constuction" -- learn how it was used. Strict constuction prevented very popular labor laws like child labor, safety laws. Strict construction folk dominated USSC then, said we cant even PASS LAWS about child labor, and struct those laws down, again and again, cause labor rights arent in constitution. By Ron's logic, all those laws would be void - labor, safety, pollution, etc. Its a very slippery slope. It might sound nice now - be very careful. Learn history
