Even tho i upgraded my computer recently, it still only cost me $350 for that (3.2ghz quad core, 8gb ram etc) CPU and RAM play a very low roll in gaming graphical performance, 85% of it dedicates itself to your GPU, which my gtx 550 was only $100. Pretty much near the price of a new console near release.
