This video, has made me cry more times than one. I have read people's opinions, and realize that it's most important to know what you believe. All leads to the same Light.
I am a Devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba. I am because I "know".
Just a thought about the above comment....mmm...I read somewhere that "God is one and all others are instruments"...so when one can align your brains right than there should be no arguments....
Is only one God. God enlight men to find his way to Heaven. The man/woman who love and find the Love of God in their Heart wants to shared with others. And that is went the man/woman become a Teacher/a Guru. God enlight all of us, it just depend on us to receive and accept this Light. Thru history we be knowing this men and women who change their countries and the perspective to see the world. Is up to us to puzzle out the pieces that each teacher has. The Peace of God be with you.
Since 1984, when approx 10,000 sikh worshipers (including many women & children) were slain by the Indian Army inside the golden temple, the Sikhs have become suspicious of Indians.
But i sense from your words that it was not your intention to cause offense. you seem like a nice person, maybe god may cause you to do something to help repair those broken sikh hearts.
Arjun, is a good name. It is the name of the devotee of Lord Krishna (Hari). The great Sikh Guru Gobind Singh loved the name of lord "Ram". Golden temple is also called "Har Mandir". One of the Sikh Gurus helped the Hindus to be freed from the Moghul invaders. This has been a relationship since ages. It cannot be broken with such incidents.
My heart pains when I hear abt killing of innocent people. Arjunji I can sense pain from ur words.Basically, Indira Gandhi just took wrong decisions n the Indian army had to listen to her. Khalistani elements were of course ruining the country's unity but innocent people should not be killed in the process. WE should be upset with the extremists of a particular religion or the ones who follow the bastardised version of their religion, but not with the peaceful and loving people u know.
There is are all types of people in a community, country, race etc. Some do insane things but we shouldn't prejudice and put a label on the whole community or a country you know. A Sikh means a student, a true student who reads d great teachings of Sikh Gurus would understand about the Unity between the teachings of Hinduism and Sikhism (a handful of differences for dividers to brood on, but a skyful of things in common for d true devotees to rejoice on)
"Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false." (SGGS Ang 1350).
"One who recognizes that all spiritual paths lead to the One shall be emancipated. One who speaks lies shall fall into hell and burn. In all the world, the most blessed and sanctified are those who remain absorbed in Truth." (SGGS Ang 142)
Pictures are of Sai Baba. But the ( hymns ) are sung by Snatam Kaur.
All of Snatam Kaur's hymns are in praise of The Sat (Absolute Truth) -The Akal Purkh, the timeless entity ( God ) that does not take birth - never takes the form of a life ( born as a man ). Why are you MISREPRESENTING her hymns to praise someone who is in the form of a man. Her inspiration is Siri Guru Granth Sahib. (The hymn is from there)
I respect your feelings brother. When I heard the song I felt so much love inside her voice for God, for her Gurudev. Although my Guru is Sai Baba of Shirdi, I do not see Sikhism, Christianity, Hinduism etc as very different. It is the love for God and Guru my brother. If u notice then u will find that Snatam is also praising her Guru and if u look deeper then she finds the love of God in her Guru.
In one of her tracks she sings for, "Allah, Jeovah, Rama, Sat Nama...Peace to all...Love to all"...The great Sikh Gurus are also my Gurus, so is Jesus and Sai Baba. I see unity in all of them. With regards to misrepresentation, I am aware that there can be two ways of looking at the same thing - half full or half empty, so it is ur perception and I respect ur view. In the end u r the son of the same father (God) and a seeker of truth so you are my brother and may God bless you and all.
beautiful clip and prayer !! bless us all please.... god
thank you
