  • i'm about to join, but first i got to get my self in shape.

  • Well I believe officers are allowed sidearms.

  • Who is allowed a sidearm in the military?

  • what branches am i able to join with a GED?

  • @CASSINOx you can enlist into any of the services so long as you pass the ASVAB with a high enough score. (the score requirements are slightly higher for GED recipients) of corse id recommend a 4 year college. (there are a few with open admissions) Weber State University of Utah for example. University of Texas @ Brownsville too i think.

  • @RaistlianMajerie both of those colleges have ARMY ROTCs too so you can still serve

  • I'm currentlly in the guard and if you don't have your license you can still join with a state id however some mos's require a drivers license

  • Was this video shot with a calculator?

  • Can I join the National Guard without a drivers license? I will be the 4Th generation in my fammily to serve for the U.S. Army.

  • @Robert46514 its a requirement i believe

  • so what happens after basic training?

  • i...have been waiting to join...sinci i was 8....now im 16, I only have to wait 8 more months to go to basic training....but it feels like for fricking ever...

  • oh yea last question, lets say i would like to be 'activated', can i request or volunteer for that?

  • Hey im enlisting this week already got the asvab physical tapas etc done...if i pick 11b will i go to fort benning, since its supposd to be same training as regular army and thats the base that MOS gets sent to? And also do i get to pick where i serve, im in florida now but i would like to move back to my state(ny) once ive completed basic and ait, will i be required to stay in fl since thats where i enlisted from??

  • @iamamazing03 If you are national guard you will have to stay where you claim residence. You never get to pick where you go, no matter what you are promised. 1. Do not sign for 11B unless your score does not allow you something else. Think about your future, after the military. 19D was amazing if you just want to be combat arms. 2. BCT can be done at almost any training facility, so you may end up at any of them. Good Luck.

  • the national doesn't go into wars do they? they just help with stuff like hurricanes wildfires and stuff within the USA?

  • Comment removed

  • @bapabob bro y u mad??

  • @07Z06ss They can be sent into service if needed, but mostly they help out with things that happen on American soil.

  • @DaleDixieMafia thanks

  • Taking the ASVAB in 2 days! Hope I pass so I can join the Guard!

  • Is it worth it? I want to join.

  • @slkhaldrogo It depends on you. If you don't know what you want out of the military I'd suggest not joining.

  • What does the national gaurd do? Do they go around the world and fight or stay home to protect the u.s?

  • @MrJhuneo1 both

  • I especially love the National Guard because of the "even" intermix of males and females, nothing says equality like a woman in the military.

  • I want to join but i got problem with the law. If u you desire to join any U.S force think before you do. Even if you don't still think.

  • why is their ACU camo different?

  • @mysmartskills this is the old camo print, they changed it to what you see today.

  • @mysmartskills No idea, I've been wondering what it's supposed to camouflage to. looks like someone took the MARPAT woodland and desert camo and the navy's bluish gray crap and just mixed it all together with.

  • How do I pass the test

  • Graduation!

  • this is my life.. cant wait for boot camp.

  • this mustve been filmed in the '90s lol

  • @xZxshadowghostxZ

right im watching this and im like, wtf? this shit is so old

  • "But now it's time for a truely great moment is basic training...*talking to 5 year old voice* GRADUATION!!! =D

  • Wait is basic for 9 or 10 wks? I am joining next month.

  • @kal1586 you go for 9

  • @kal1586 it's 10 now.

  • @kal1586

The main basic training is 9 weeks, but the final 10th week is primarily focusing on graduation.

  • 3:44

  • "I fired the shot that started a nation" -Army National Guard circa 1775

  • @SN1PEAHO The Few, The Proud, The Expendable

  • I hope I can make it through this. This is my only option. If I can't serve in the military I will feel useless for the rest of my life......

  • @DarkAngel31678 believe me it is one of the easiest branches to get into I don't recommend the regular army they are pretty difficult I.E. two mile run in 15:54 two minutes to do 42 push ups and two minutes for 53 sit ups

  • @Daynknight1001 one standard one Army

  • @DarkAngel31678 Brah i was a chouch potatoe. played video games, a major lazy ass, the familys fuck up, brah i got the motivation to make it and believe me look at the Marines vBasic training video n tell me where do you wana be?

  • OMG, the main actor off of band of brothers! 2:00

  • im done with my paperwork now its off to MEPS for my testing then off to basic Training.

  • >:D i leave for this! THIS SUMMER!!

  • @SN1PEAHO yea am going to see if i talk to one soon, But thanks a lot for the info I can not wait to join and help make a difference and give back xD. I will post back and let you all know what happen and what they told me just in case some one else has the same question

  • I'm in school now getting my GED, but i heard that they are not accepting people with GED anymore is that true? Also is there a way i can join the national guard without a diploma or GED and get it after?? Plz anyone that might have some answers let me know.

  • @felixyadiqq They send you to Little Rock, Arkansas for their school to get your high school diploma

  • i try to work out but by myself but i get lazyi need a traner so if i try out for the ng and fail what happens sit ups and pushups are easy i justsuck a running

  • i hav jus applied for army nation guard and i am very very very nervous..

  • Are the National Guards the lowest level army?

  • @ffuuuucccckk No Military branch is lower than another. Each branch has different jobs. The US Army is Federal, meaning the President decides when/where to ship them, the Army NATIONAL GUARD is a more local Army. The governor of a state(each state has its own national guard) can send them out, so can the President. In disasters, such as Hurrcan Katrina, the National Guard would help out more than the US Army. But any soldier in any branch is a hero!

  • @1KaoticPeace oh I get it now. Thank you, I learned something.

  • @ffuuuucccckk No problem,man!

  • @1KaoticPeace Finally, someone who gets it :D

  • @ironhikaru yeah, I did my research because a year ago I thought that all we needed was the navy for water, air force for air...and the USMC for land fighting. I didn't see a point in the National Guard,Army, or the Coast Guard(yes, people! The CG is a part of the military! lol) But yeah, I love all of our soldiers!

  • The cool thing about the Army National Guard is that you get to hang out with girls :) no sausage fests in this branch of the military. Hooah!

  • @blackyblackblack505 haha, awesome!

  • @blackyblackblack505 theres girls in the national guards infantry?

  • @nickgt111 Only HOT ones!!

  • @nickgt111 lol No

  • @blackyblackblack505

haha yeah cause girls can do just as good as you can ;)

    -- marine corp

  • @AdamDaSpiderMonkey The Few, The Proud, The Expendable

  • @blackyblackblack505 Maybe, but wouldn't you get a dishonerable discharge if you tried anything with the women?

  • @kickflipinyaface Not if it's consensual.

  • @blackyblackblack505 the half of those girls are lesbians lol

  • @ViktorY2000 thats what im afraid of -__- leaving next week..hope its a great experience

  • @blackyblackblack505 LMAO sausage fest. x)

  • As a Canadian reservist, it is certainly interesting to see what my American counterparts are doing within Basic training. While I understand that many things may be left out of this 30 minute video, I do have some curiosities remaining that I hope someone can fill me in. Are American reservists taught first aid/cpr? Is there any training related to (I don't know the american counterparts) C9 & C9 machine guns, and Carl Gustav antitank? What about room clearing or operating on a FOB?

  • I will also say that what I did not do in my own training is the bayonnet training or the Pugel (did I spell that right?) training. WRT the bayonnets, it seems like my army wants to phase that portion of training out as it no longer seems relevant to the state of modern warfare (when was the last time someone actually used a bayonnet in theatre?)

  • im eager and proud to serve my country!!

    private valenzuela

  • "MaN It RoCkZ!!23"

  • i just signed up got to past the test an stuff, but after watchin this , it makes me nervous has hell to go forward

  • @orignalrudeboi84 then be thankful you didn't sign with the marine corps... your afraid of the national guard?? the marines will eat corn flakes out of your skull

    ooooh raaaah !!!

  • @bsmlvega i said makes me nervous , not scared, it has nothin to do with fear !

  • @bsmlvega dumb ass

  • @orignalrudeboi84 Stay motivated and disciplined. Keep running, keep doing push ups, and keep doing sit ups and you'll be fine. PT makes you sexy.

  • I'd join the army/national guard if I was American.. No way I'm joining the lackluster Canadian one.

  • looks fun and I cant wait

  • Motivated dedicated hooah

  • I'd love to do this. Already did basic training in Sweden but i wanna try this too

  • what is up with this guy talking over the video?? "Gee guy with was awesome" Sounds like he graduated from the Micky Mouse Club.

  • i laughed when he said "graduation"

  • what happen after bootcamp , i know youre "prepare" for war , but what else??

  • @kharlos84 Thats pretty much it. Prepare for battle, trainning never stops.

  • @kharlos84 ait where you train for your mos. then you work your mos daily and if you get a deployment date you your unit usually goes to germany for a few months for additional training to practice going into a new environment in a different country then you go to afghanistan. if your not getting deployed you just go to work everyday doing your mos

  • alwayz wanted to join , in the past 6months i been running a lot/wokring out a lot moree , hope my asthma is gone... even tho i had it my whole life =/...still wanna join NG.

  • do they give you an option to go active duty or to airborne school after basic?

  • they should ask you once u enlist what branch u wanna join. so u can train for it

  • @xXvirus20200Xx before you enlist, you take a test called ASVAB. Depending on the results, the recruiter lets you know to which Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) you qualify for. So i believe you will know what Army Branch Specialty you will be going to.

  • @1987ETB The army NG now has a feature called "Active first" mean you can be an active duty soldier. I think you get a bonus for it. As for airborne school and other army schools you must submit application packet and meet the physical requirements.

  • to be a mp you do your 9 weeks of basic and i think 36 weeks of AIT

    asthma will get you disqualified

i think the guy sounds kinda retarded lol

  • this private sounds like a actor when he talks like hes reading to a class of 3rd graders lol

  • @elloko92292 he's making sure people that are going to pursue the national guard understand what it will be like.

  • @elloko92292 lol he says 'its the greatest!'

  • @elloko92292 do someone since u think your bad

  • @elloko92292 why not, its cute

  • can i join if i have asuma?

  • yes you can join with asthma, but your recruiter will tell you not to mention it to anyone, but i would really think it through before you enlist if you want to go to bt with asthma.

  • @alittlelostinlife ummm dude, i recently enlisted and at MEPS they tell you in a power point presentation before your medical test in big bold letters ASTHMA WILL GET YOU DISQUALIFIED.

    listen to your recruiters

  • @Helterrhyminskelter Thanks for repeating what I said in other words.... I specifically said your recruiter will tell you not to say anything, meaning it is NOT allowed. Im assuming your recruiter told you not to say anything about your sight problem. Cause you obviously cant read.

  • @BryanL14k If you get asthma after the age of 13 than no it will be hard to get in. But if you had asthma since you were a baby like me then chances are you can get in. Don't let this stop you.

  • what is asuma do you take a drug to help this cause?

  • Comment removed

  • this is somewhat similar to what my experience at ft. Benning was..

    PFC Reynolds, 11B

  • mp is military police, ait is advanced individual training.

  • This video looks really sugarcoated. No offense.

  • 1 question do u need a high skool diploma to join the army national guard??

    and can u be a cop ??

  • MP yeah

  • thanks man do u know how long does it take to be a cop?

  • im not in the army yet, but a friend of mine is an MP, and I think it was 3 months of basic and 2 months of AIT

  • ok whats mp??and ait mean?

  • 17 weeks for military police

  • are u going 31 bravo? when do u go 2 basic?

  • so when you join the national guard you don't get put into combat or anything right (Iraq/Afghanistan)? You're just a hardcore police officer right?

  • um no. its the army. and yes, you could be sent to afgahnistan to help people who are more unfortunate than you.

  • no but they can call you over

  • somebody please answer my questions:

    have two

1- how long it takes the basic training season ( how many years)

2- after you finish the hole courses ( all)

and training? whats next? they call you again?

  • they said its a 9 weeks basic training lol...and u live there for those 9 weeks

  • after 9 weeks i can go home and never go there again?

    i also get the benefits?

  • i dont know much about the national gaurd ... but i think u have to sign for a certain amount of time... but u only work wit them on weekends.. or if a disaster happens.. so u can go home.. just u have eto go there on weekends

  • what's the difference between the national guard and the marines? im undecided b/n those two.

  • i just talked with a local recruiter today and wow im really stoked about the national guard and its benefits, but kinda tripping out over basic training, can anyone offer me an advice? all an or any input and insight would be greatly appreciated.

  • im scared im not a physically fit person and i havent ran in years i dont even like to walk lol but i want to do this i dont like to get yelled at i mhave a mouth how much yelling do they do

  • did you sign up already? you should def try and get into shape, because if you cant pass your phase 3 and phase 5 i believe pt test you will not graduate and will need to be recycled into the next available class. (you dont get to go home while your waiting for the next class) and they did a shit load of screaming at us as MPs at fort leonard wood. so you better get used to being yelled at, and learn to keep your mouth shut if you like to talk back hahaaha

  • i want to join the guuard but im scared. im skinny and short and i havent ran in like 5 years!! n im 21! is there a place i can go to train specially for it.

  • @prettymexicanchik

Dont worry you will be fine. just sart you process to getting in and in the mean time just do alot of running, i promise you will be fine.

  • hey how you doing im looking forward towards joining the national guard, yea run alot a local park, hills ,a school has tracks, youll do fine...

  • in what city you live in??

  • just do alot of push ups and run every day. push ups is a reps excercise. so just do as many as you possibly can. running every day is the best way to stay in shape. and the more you push it, the easier it will be later

  • im worried about the physical triaining im not the fittest of people lol i want to get in the army but apperently national guard is the only choice for me

  • thank you for the information i had no idea it was like that i cant wait im 100% more excited and i didnt think that was posible

  • i cant wait to join.

  • just a ?..do you have to be in the army to go to the national guard..or are they two seperate branches?

  • the national guard is a branch of the army.

  • @maino4756 The National Guard is a branch of the Army. You go to Army basic training but after that you'll be a National Guard (if you chose to -other options: full time/active and reserve). You go to, i think the armory, not sure for one weekend each month. Your pretty much considered a citizen/soldier ready to deploy when troops are needed.

  • No you join the Army National Gaurd.

  • can you become a national guard and than become a Marine?

  • yeah, after a couple years. you cant just sign up for the guard then be a marine bro, totally different branch. when you enlist for the guard, or any other branch, your in there for the amount of years you picked. are you even old enough to start thinking of enlisting in the military?

  • Yes im 18

  • alright, well i see that your totally not knowledgable of the military. If you want to be a marine or a soldier in the national guard, talk to your nearest recruiter if you are interested in enlisting in the military

  • My advice to you is to jon the USMC first. Serve a term and if you like it stay in. If you dont, just transfer to any other branch and you will not have to go thru Basic again. When it comes time to doing this all you will have to do is fill out the paper work prior to a honorable discharge and you shold be able to get in the day after you opt out. If you dont do it while in it can be more difficult as a civilian. That is what i am currently doing.

    Semper Fidelis.

  • @elonaman117 Dude, that's a bad plan... I'm sorry to have to be the one to say it, but it is. I have found a plan that is a lot better and because I'm persuing education first, I will have more opporunities in the military. You should do college dude and if you do, the Army National Guard is the best choice. Also, the Guard can release you to join the Marine Corps.

  • To everyone his own. That is an avanue you can choose. I however got my masters in International affairs and Business as well as a few other things while in the USMC. The best advice i can give to the ppl here is educate your self on the brance you intend to join and try getting at least 2 years of college in before you join.

    Good luck and Semper Fidelis

  • I am sorry to say the rifle, knife and hand grenade are not the most lethal weapons a soldier has. His mind is the most lethal. Any dumbass can pickup any of those things and use them. It takes a well trained mind to survive and fight properly in combat.

    One mind Any weapon.

    Semper Fidelis.

  • man, you are the dumbass. A person not trained with a rifle, grenade, and a bayonet cannot just pick them up and use them. damn marine boy thinks he knows everything, probably not even in the marines

  • Wow what are you so defensive for? I suppose you would know about it right? I was not even trying to argue with you. I was trying to give you some friendly FYI. yes a soldier/Marine is Trained and armed but that is not his/her main weapon their mind is. That is taught basic. The weapon only augments your ability to fight. Ask any other Marine or soldier and they would probably tell you that too. Sorry for getting your balls in a scrunch pal. lighten up :)

    Semper Fidelis

  • Im fine bro, i was just saying that a normal citizen, without training, would have no clue on how to use a rifle, grenade, etc. So why are you watching videos about the army national guard? For you being a marine, im impressed. your not a cocky little lil bitch like a lot of grunts are =) haha

  • I can be penisey at times but i know how to control it. Time and place you know. As for why i am looking at NG vids i am in the market for doing NG, Army, or Contracter Company startup. I have a lot of options right now and this is one of them.

    Semper Fidelis.

  • haha i hear ya, well sorry for snappying at you bro, and good luck with your many options!

    HOOAH!!!!

  • @AndrewTheKewlDude Elonaman is right about the mind being the most powerful weapon for an individual, not just his or hers rifle, grenade, etc. You are correct that your average person wouldn't know how to operate such equipment, but with enough time, they'd eventually figure it out. However, they still may not know all of the techniques in using such weapons. Other than that, yall both have good points.

  • the fake shoting thing seems a lot like airsoft atleast the way i play

  • Loved the video . & I'm turning 17 on the 27th &i'm enlisting . =) , I'm really scared though , I don't know why xD .

  • @x3MiSSMiNNDAA You'll do good I'm sure.

  • your not scared , its just an adrenaline rush..you never done something like this..just have self confidence ..

  • hahahaha basic was fun as hell and so was AIT!!

  • Hooah :) I just joined.

  • If you're in good shape then basic is easy. Hell its somewhat enjoyable f you have very good self discipline.

  • dont they use M4's now??

  • from what i read it's more common in special forces for them to use the m4

  • for anyone going to BCT i would run 2 or 3 miles a day before you ship out because when you get to training you will be running everywhere you go even if its to use the latrine(bathroom) Even if you cant run that long for that time its okay to walk a little but run as long as possible. Read your smart book they give you. it tells you pretty much everything you need to know. Everything else is common sense.

  • you never salute a DS you only salute officers which are LT's or captains and shit like that. a DS is an NCO and if u salute them they will just laugh at you. you learn that in BCT though

  • I will be 38 and I am not in the greatest physical shape. I want to leave for BCT in January. Does anyone have suggestions on some great training to get ready for PFT and other sections of the training?

  • start running mile... do 20 pushups... also look up national guard youtube site.. there is a SSG that tells somethings that can help you get ready for BCT.

  • Don't enlist just for school. Yes it's a good benefit, but you can just as easily get deployed. Do it for the pride, to better yourself, or something more than just schooling.

  • amen friend, im doing it for school, being a patriot, and for my family. plus it seems exciting.

  • @FranklinHooah yeah man
