  • Look at the connection on the S2 tho

  • Display: Galaxy Nexus sports a 4.65-inch high-definition Super AMOLED display that may give a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with about 316 ppi pixel density.

Galaxy S2 comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA SUPER AMOLED Plus display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels at 217 ppi.

    NEXUS PRIME is the WINNAR!!!

  • @myg0tBUTTPLUG so but it s a super amoled plus there are 3 subpixel no 2 subpixel=better contrast than other display like note, nexus.I have note, galaxy s2 and galaxy nexus. So the colors are on the s2 much better.Because it s super amoled plus. The display of note or galaxy note is already a super amoled like galaxy s1.The display of there phones have only much higher resoultion.

  • Google Nexus or Galaxy S2 both still under Korean Samsung Company. Seriously, both GREAT!!!

  • The main reason why the S2 appeared to be slower is because the WiFi signal on the Nexus is stronger in comparison to the S2. Obviously the update of ICS will also play apart but the strength of the WiFi connection is stronger on the Nexus. Obviously that in it self is a 'point' to the Nexus but the actual browser can not be totally blamed. P.s: I'm not a 'fan-boy', in fact I own neither of the devices, I am just in the process of which one to buy!

  • @GalacticSack Regardless of why it's slower, it's still slower. And honestly, the nexus isn't THAT awesome anyway, I feel like it's just not quite there yet. At this point, if I were you, I wouldn't bother getting either. I'd wait a bit longer for the SGS3 or the Sony Xperia S

  • @KeKeKeilan Oh yeh, I totally agree, ICS does make it quicker and the WiFi strength is a bonus also... and yes you are right. I am planning on waiting for the much awaited SG3!

  • Clearing the cache and history, like a man

  • lmao guys. you say that sgs 2 is better?

we will see whats better when sgs2 will have ICS aswell.

  • @BewaredGamer to be more precise: nexus uses the same gpu that's on the galaxy s 1

  • they both have the same processor, the s2 has a slightly more powerful gpu. the nexus has a higher resolution, therefore more pixels to process, so in the end i would say the s2 is more powerful in terms of performance. add up the 8mp camera on the s2 vs the 5mp one on the nexus. i would still choose the s2

  • So you rob both them phones on the same night?

  • thumbs up if you thought it's hemorroids not hemorrdroids :DDD

  • Regardless of who won, that S2 was slow. Mine on wifi is ridiculously quick. No point getting nexus, wait till MWC when Samsung will debut the S3 next month...yeah baby!

  • @kaca488 The colors, saturation, brightness red, green & blue tint r all adjustable. Just use screen adjust from the market. U can turn the saturation down brightness up, whatever u want 2do.

  • @TheRebuiltOne1980 kudos on that one mate

  • Both phones are really similar. Do you want better screen? Galaxy Nexus. Do you want better camera? Galaxy SII.

I prefeer SII, and I'm sure that SII with ICS will be quicker than Nexus (less ressolution to process).

  • Nexus ftw galaxy s 2 ftw

  • I think this may be more down to ICS than the hardware but still a good comparison! well done

  • Where is the search bar at the top of the Nexus?

  • @MrMuthaUcker It's on the home screen.

  • @supercrunchify actually the screen on GS2 is better than Nexus. Its more lighter, more efficient, brighter and more accurate colors. It seems the reviewer didn't turn off separate automatic brightness in the browser setting. I know because that's what it looks like. Trust me, once you turn the brightness all the way to maximum, its so bright and the colors are so vibrant, it will hurts your eyes but also a pleasure to look at :)

  • I think the S2 is searching for viruses :)

  • i think they are both slow. you have terrible wifi

  • i see the gs2 has very poor wifi signal

  • what does the flash does to our phone?

  • is the samsung galaxy s2 turned on full brightness

  • Kaca488 the s2 is super amoled+ which is darker because it's over saturated

  • y is samsung galaxy s2 screen less brighter which screen is brighter

  • I think is the problem of version and browser,I am using I9100 but I never use the original browser.I usually use dolphin browser or opera. The browser of Galaxy Nexus is new.I think u can make a test again, both use same browser. This is my suggestion...

  • Why is the Galaxy Nexus displays white colour beter than the from the s2? Eventhough both phones have a amoled screen? On the S2, the white looks dark and a bit like blue.

  • somethings wrong with ur sg2 mine dosent load nearly that slow

  • from what i can see the galaxy s2 battery is low and is in power save mode, thats why the browsers brightness has been reduced thus lower performance

  • The only reason the Galaxy Nexus runs faster is because of ICS. The CPU in E4GT is better clock for clock than the GNex. Thus, the hardware out performs and is held back by the current software. Software can be updated, hardware can't... =]

  • @supercrunchify yes it is bro I had them both I actually returns my nexus on monday for that exact reason the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch screen is brighter with more vivid color reproduction trust me bro I wanted the screen on the galaxy nexus to be better but it just isn't

  • @stolic2012 It's all software, Samsung phones generally look better stock than other phones do.

Like Galaxy S and Nexus S.

  • GS2 gotta be the phone of the year hands down, it's blowing everything out the water.

Apple are good at making computers, not phones.

  • s2 is a much better phone trust me.. even though it came out earlier..

  • This is unfair because I have the galaxy nexus and the Epic 4G Touch (GSII) ans the screen on the GSII is by far superior to the nexus the GSII just has a separate brightness setting in the browser which he obviously had set to either automatic or on a low setting do a vid & show us that u have both phones at Max brightness because the GSII's screen is definitely brighter and has richer more vivid colors..matter of fact I will be posting my own vid so people can see the truth!

  • Samsung galaxy nexus looks alot better then galaxy s2

  • you werent connected to wifi so obviously whateer phone has better signal will go faster

  • @hemorrdroidsnet i dont think this was a fair comparison because if you look at it the sgs2 had less charge and we dont know if they were connected to the same network

  • S2 all the way!

  • Not sure this makes sense, I think the galaxy S2 should be the exact speed. Does Gingerbread have support for dual core CPUs?

  • @RussianSpectre Ice cream sandwhich has faster browser rendering then the one on gingerbread

  • Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung Trustworthily is SamSung

  • isn't this rather a comparison of the android versions than between the phones as the processors are similar?

  • @1LuvCupc4ke5 : processors technology is the same (ARM) not the CHIPSET (cpu implemented+gpu implemeted+memory support)... nexus is TI and s2 is Samsung chipset

  • Hey flash is out for ics 11.1 please check it out and make a video :)

  • @monishpahuja i would say wait for ics for s2 (early next year)

and then make a final video :)

  • Samsung Galaxy S2 > Galaxy Nexus. Only thing nexus has over galaxy s2 is bigger screen size and HD display (which is not really a true HD). It uses pentile technology which is inferior to rgb panel. So, ultimately the real ppi of nexus is just under s2 cause of bigger screen.

  • I wasted my time watching useless comparisons like this: only real difference is ICS and S2 will get it anyway. So when I went to the store I bought nexus under the argument "for about the same price u get the bigger one". Ok. EXCEPT none of this idiots warns NEXUS DOESN'T HAVE expandable memory! HOWS IT POSSIBLE NOONE CREARLY POINTS OUT THIS? I thought just like when you buy a car you don't need to ask if it has a brake pedal when you buy an android you could assume it would have memory slots.

  • Hmm, are you on mobile data or wifi? I Just tried all those on my SGS2(underclocked @800Mhz) w/o flash and it was quite alot faster than both phones in every test(on fast wifi)

Stock 2.3.6 browser, and yes i cleared the cache, and no I'm not kidding. I'll try att stock cpu speed, maybe that'll slow things down lol :)

Which firmware are you running on the SGS2? 2.3.6 seems to have improved just about everything.

  • @androgen80 Edit, cpu was @1,2Ghz when i tested! Not 800Mhz

  • When the galaxy s2 gets ICS, those will be the same phones :P

  • nothing unusual, nexus ... Have Ice cream, compare again, when Samsung decides to make ICS SG2

  • This is a great review compared to a lot of others out there. I'd be very interested to see another test with ICS running on both phones, although I'm already leaning towards getting the SII. I hope I can tether it with the Asus Transformer Prime when it comes out next month.

  • how come my samsung galxy s2 doesny have that button on the middle? mines from sprint and its says samsung galaxy s2 epic 4g touch, is theere a difference?

  • @GuerrillaAisoft The one I am using is the international version. The device you mentioned is another variant of the same device and is different in a few ways. The Epic 4G Touch has a larger display, four touch-capacitive buttons, instead of the hardware/capacitive button combination found on the international version. Your one also has a LED notification light and a larger battery.

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet Have you even updated the phone to the newest firmware? *Galaxy S2*

  • Comment removed

  • @GuerrillaAisoft becuase you have a epic 4g one its slightly different

  • You can't compare, they are using two different versions of android, it's like comparing Apple os 3.0 to 5.0, you have to compare it, when Ice cream sandwich comes out for all android phones...

  • Iphones could just b expectators in this battle XD its like cell vs goku and mr satan its watching hidden somewhere XD lmfao

  • Hey just buy what u like dont be serious because they r both better than the Iphone 4s :)

  • is it me or does that samsung galaxy s2 look like its dulled down?

  • @kedwardsTWO it is definitely

  • Gs2 has the best browser hands down!

  • @penjersey83 nexus has the best screen out there.

  • Check the same brightness to both phones before making a comparison, please, SGS is darker, it was intentionally?

  • This is a fair comparison because right now this is what these phones can offer.

  • both also running Android 4.0??

If no, then this is not a fair comparison......

  • Nexus screen is much better

  • i have sgs2. people who also have it, don't be disappointed becuz nexus only has ICS. sgs2 is lighter, better screen(gorilla glass), smaller(nexus is too big) and sgs2 has a waaaaaay better camera

  • slow wifi

  • It looks like Samsung fixed that blue-tint problem with the Galaxy Nexus' screen.

  • Hi Hemorrdroidsnet

First: What version of Android are you running on the S2?

Second: Since ICS is coming to the S2 in january, can you make comparison video like this but using 2 GALAXY S2's. One running ICS the other running the latest Gingerbread? That would be a really interesting comparison. Thx

  • no worries. i have s2, and updates for android 4.0 will do the rest

  • i m disappointed with the nexus i have sgs2

nd of all the comparisions i hav seen there is nothing much which get my attention apart from ICS nd 720 p screen

  • is it just me or the screen on the nexus is much brighter and sharper??!

  • @pinguin12711 not only you mate. i noticed that too.

  • @pinguin12711 well the nexus does have a 720p screen compared to the SGSIIs 800 x 480.

  • lol you sound like the guy ftom 4 lions

  • Just saying but does it also have to be considered how long the phone has been in use and how much stuff ist on the system, etc. ? Cuz thats always something to consider with PCs. Anyways, lets see about this when ICS comes to the S2. In my opinion its stupid that the only selling point the Nexus has (over the S2 or Note) is an OS that will come to the other phones eventually.

  • @MarNieCo I like the screen and form factor of the Nexus. Processor (when ICS comes), and cameras on the GS2 are superior though. Since the Nexus is the first with true hardware acceleration built into the os, of course it will get better browser performance and bench marks. Other than the screen though, the GS2 is the better phone when it gets ICS.

  • i just ran a test with my s2 against both your s2 and your nexus. Mine beat both your nexus and s2. Whats goin on here?

  • @phrO1986 probably the resources being used? the phones could have had any number of apps running in the background, slowing them down.

  • The TI OMAP was the right processor to put in the GN good job Google!

  • Msnbc Technolog

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: The One to Beat

  • I think they all do fine actually, but I seriously doubt I'd ever go anything other than the Nexus (Google Brand). Because mainly of one simple reason. Direct and imediate OS support (Its Google's baby why not!?). But I agree that all the other non Nexus Android phones shouldn't have to wait 4 to 5 months for the next update or upgrade. I've been asked if I'd be willing to sell my N1. I can't do it. I won't do it. Its going to get framed and shelved. lol really it will. I may do all my Nexus'

  • Considering the S2 has the more powerful Hardware I cant wait to get ICS on it. It will get to 88mph and go back in time!

  • lol that sgs2 is set at low brightness

  • Genius Review :)

  • great review, but I have one question: Is the nexus really faster than the S2 or is it just due to ICS? Or in other words: Will the S2 be as fast as the nexus when samsungs releases ICS for it? Thanks for the reply

  • @agro0 From what I read and the reviews that I have seen the S2 has the more powerful hardware, so this is down to ICS being written better. Should mean when we get ICS on the S2 it will be even faster than the Nexus! Gigardy!!

  • The iPhone 4s is a joke! Complete fail!!!!

  • The browser difference is for the os i think . When ice cream sandwich will be ready for sgs2 try to do the same video ,can sgs2 be more faster than galaxy nexus ?i don't know . So share the video when ice cream sandwich available for sgs2

  • the iPhone 4S is definitely faster

  • @RobertMargera I don't know whether you're blind or dumb. Haha

  • I've seen gs2 battling many phones, many times, & this is the first time I've seen it go that slow. The screen of that phone doesn't look as vibrant as the gs2.

  • Lol those that say G S2 + ICS will beat the G Nexus forget something I think. The G Nexus is a Upgraded Galaxy phone 2. If anything the ICS will make it closer or atleast on par with it,... until.... wait for it.... wait for it.... the next Google Operating update or upgrade.

  • @xxGjbbyxx It's not upgraded. The Exynos System on Chip used in the Galaxy S II is far better than the TI OMAP4460 used in the Galaxy Nexus.

  • screw 4s

  • nexus is da shit BOY!

  • oh shit just got my S2 now, oh shit shit now this nexus?, fuck, which 1 then? oh no.

  • am still going for the Galaxy S2 no matter what :p

  • yaaa but check the smoothness.. the s2 beats it ..and ICS + S2 = supreme power

  • I could've sworn the BBC site loaded first on the S2.....

  • @phantomization2121 Nope it didn't I'm afraid but it was certainly very close.

  • @phantomization2121 u need to see the top loading bar, not the page itself.

  • samsung galaxy s2 all the way.

  • Ahh I love how refined ics looks compared to gingerbread

  • iphone have no place here...s2 will eat 4s

  • iPhone ftw!

  • Just buy an iPhone!

  • s2 had no battery

  • your internet is really slow.

  • How old is your s2 that will affect it.

  • S2 was slow because it was low battery. Don't say no because I have the s2 and it stays green when that far low.

  • It looks so slow!

    iPhone looks faster!!!

    iPhone all the way!

  • My sgs2 SR. Will smoke that nexus

  • @CXENTE713 and my SGSII GTR will smoke yours lol

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet sky rocket is slower than the galaxy s 2....

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet I think once the S2 gets ICS it'll be much closer because now Android supports dual core, fully.

  • Wow the nexus is sick .

  • my god.. the Nexus is scary fast! the S2 isn't exactly a slouch.. but the Nexus still beat it handily. D:

  • His inter is so fucking slow

  • HELLO Hemorrdroidsnet. GREAT REVIEW! I have one question fo you.

ON these videos, WIFI signal on Nexus seems far better that GS2 signal.

It' only just a coincidence or NEXUS seems to have stronger wifi antenna signal reception?

How far away were you from tghe router with the devices?

Thank you in advance for your reply!

    :)

  • @cocorekkio The WiFi seems to be better on the Nexus by 1 bar, and the wireless router wasn't too far away. Not sure if this happens all the time, but I'll double check it and let you know.

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet

WOW, your kindness is amazing. If you let me know this thing (very important for me), maybe checking with Android Market's app Wifi Analizer, it would be fantastic!

    Thank you again! :D

  • @cocorekkio It seems both devices perform similarly in terms of the WiFi radio. In certain cases the Nexus works slightly better and in others the SII performs better. Both devices work very well.

  • Me gustan los dos. Pero el Samsung Galaxy S2 es pura magia.

  • viva galaxy s2

  • Las comparativas se deben hacer con exactamente las mismas condiciones!

  • @YUTEBI That's not really possible until the SII gets ICS, we are comparing the device as it is now.

  • Do you know if this phone comes unlocked if purchased on pay and go from three? Cos they are charging 15 to unlock but have heard they are already sim free?

  • see the galaxy s2 with his battery..

  • plus: you didn't show how many application do you have on your GS2 and how many on Nexus (i guess it's empty)

you didn't show the version of both kernel and os

  • @valerioscifoni I've installed Facebook, Twitter, GPlus, Whatsapp, Angry Birds, Quadrant and Linpack on both devices. So, that's 7 applications on top of the stock ones.

Both phones are stock devices, they aren't rooted and no custom ROMs. S2 is running on Android 2.3.4 and Nexus is running Android 4.0.1

  • there are some little things that are not fair for the comparison

    1. Your galaxy s2 must have an issue on brightness because i have never seen GS2 that gray!

    2. I personally tried GS2 with Flash disabled and i ensure you that it would loose any comparison with any mobile phone.. it is built to load webpages with flash!

  • @valerioscifoni

1.My S2 doesn't have an issue with brightness, this video wasn't a comparison of brightness either. I'll tell you this though, the S2 is very bright but the Nexus is brighter.

    2. As for that, I've done another video with Flash enabled on the S2, and it still lost, but then again we'll have to wait until the Nexus gets Flash before we can do a more fair test.

  • Good job now thats fair! Have you ever noticed any lag or delay on the nexus while browsing?

  • @AllenRKz Overall no, maybe just a little when zooming in and out.

  • little tip... if you don't use the network during a video, turn it off. It'll make connection noises in the video audio otherwise.

  • @benZZZgomeZZZ I'll bare that in mind for next time, thanks.

  • Ummm - I've had 2.3.5 on my Orange UK SII for a couple of weeks now (you'll hate what it's done to Swype when you get it)

  • Why is everybody so pissed that their s2 is slower. There is something called looking forward to the future. Which is the galaxy note and galaxy nexus. Only idiots will rush out to buy the latest devices without research.

  • Hey hemorrhoid, do you max out the brightness of galaxy s 2? Why the galaxy nexus look brighter.

  • @ExtinctOfKageShi Because it is.

  • s2 is best in browsing...

  • Nice one, much better. That is a fair test

  • thanks for the updated post. I wanted to see what all the hype was about ICS and now I understand. google just stepped their game up big time. hardware wise these 2 devices are close. but with ics I must say I am very impressed.

  • I have S2 and I must say that there's no notable screen size difference between S2 and Nexus. S2 is great internet device anyway

  • @Issaland When you're watching videos, the navigation keys disappear and you get to watch the video in full screen.

  • Good software mixed with optimize hardware. Equal great device

  • The iphone has a better gpu than the sgs2. And yet still I doesn't beat it in a browser test. Just because it has better gpu doesn't mean much.

  • Still an unfair test but interesting. Theoretically the SGS II should beat the nexus once it gets ICS though (it should be one of the first smartphone to get the ICS since it has similar specs, made by samsung and being samsung's best seller)

  • @nicktrance69 why would Samsung want to update the GSII when it would negatively affect one of the big selling points of their new, expensive smartphone? If anything, they will want to wait a while to ensure high GN sales before making it compete more directly with their other high end mobile smartphone.

  • Why is the Galaxy s2 running android 2.3.4 when the latest version for it is 2.3.5?

  • @nicktrance69 Yes you're correct, but we haven't received 2.3.5 update here in the UK, I checked for updates before making the video.

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet Oh, that's weird lol cause I live in Malta and usually expect updates to be available in the UK before they are available here, especially since I bought it almost a month ago and the first thing it did as soon as i installed kies was to update to 2.3.5...

  • Che test della minchia...

  • Getting my Galaxy Nexus tomorrow :D selling my iPhone 4S the day after :D :D

  • @jin37uk Good choice.

  • @jin37uk you can't do that!

  • are both of those screens on full brightness?

  • @t47i Yes they are.

  • remember there is too difference between GB and ICS ;) the browser code is better in ICS.
