  • So happy when i found a 45 of this and house of the rising sun on the other side!

  • How many of the original band members made it?

  • Wow he made it, well done, what a life he must have had huh?

  • Ja ja theres something about this old man thats hot n im only 30 but idk it must his voice!!

  • very good sounding band - eric, as always sound great.

  • meine erste platte von eric hatte ich mit 13 jahren- er war der coolste und hatte einen wahnsinnsgroove in der stimme. heute bin ich 50 jshre alt und liebe seine musik noch immer. eric ist einer der allerbesten!

  • with eric on guitar and paula on bass....this is a classic

  • Not going to lie, I kinda like this version. Who's the hot lady Bassist?

  • love it .... thanks xxx

  • SEXY OL' MUTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Updated but not outdated!

  • Excellent!!!! xo

  • Hei Eric.

  • This not the best version of this song what i heard by Mr. Eric Burdon . I prefer with Animals - 2**

  • love it.

  • Love it!! Great version!!!

  • 110 people misunderstood Eric Burdon.

  • I like to see that woman.

  • "shocked"? why? the man is 65 years old! not sure I´ll even be alive at that age

  • I find it interesting! The melody is still lovely, even in Reggae and Flamingco style. Eric Burdon was always an iconoclast and a bit AD/HD, too. Would have been bored with a song he had played a thousand times or more. Go for it! I'm shocked how white his hair became. The Animals sure had a lot of great songs .I counted 20 in their first YouTube page. Is that woman the lady from that commercial in the luthier shop? ("I didn't know you could play! I didn't either!")

  • It's great! The man is refusing to get old -- if he won't get petrified into one reading of the song why should you? Those one of a kind phrasings are still pouring out of him like water -- such a top-flight natural he is and always has been, he can do whatever he wants.

  • great guitarist...

  • Eric, buddy leave that style to Santa Esmeralda.

  • I think people who don't like this version are too old stick.

  • really pulls off the style but just the completely wrong song for it

  • Yeah Eric......I think you still a great singer but I just stick with the Original song...

  • @Laura201196

Not really .... You like this ? no sorry it's SHIT ! watch?v=d2FT4FprxDg& THIS IS THE REAL "Don't let me be Misunderstood" ! ...

  • 107 people don't know about good music

  • Umm, sorry Eric but I think I've misunderstood you.

  • What is this... did he turn brasillian style ? Eric stick to the original version plz

  • sound very good in reggae.....good refreshing change

  • first of all,it's not HIS OWN SONG,it's a Nina Simone...and when redoing sb elses stuff,I think you have the freedom to do what you want to it,jazz musicians do it all the time.If you want the exact orig. recording, just listen to the record over and over...

  • I guess the verses translated closest to reggae. Modernized crap.

  • Wow this was pretty fuckin cool.

  • santa esmeralda version all the way.

sorry, sometimes the re-make is better... this is one of those times.

  • still ha his voice

  • I'm actually impressed with this performance. Energy changes over time as you age. His prime was a long time ago. At least it is not as bad as The Who during the super bowl a couple years ago. I wept that day. My favorite band without any doubt is The Beatles. Watching Paul McCartney now though can be painful sometimes. They have to be given props though for still performing in there much later years. We are lucky that we can at least see them in this day in age. Someday we won't.

  • wow i guess you do live long enough to be your own enemy.

  • the best part was the guitar at the start.

  • hehe.............what is this ;) but man with dreads on the head playing well o n acoustic

  • damn he fucked his song up the original is way better then this

  • luv

  • I'll stick with the orriginal recording thanks

  • lmao wha the hell was that hahahha

  • Well... nice try. But sorry, didn't work.

  • Nice version! I prefer his original but it's nice that he changed it. He's got a great voice no matter what. Love the Spanish guitar. It makes it unique.

  • the red head look very cute mmmmm

  • this version... i do not care for at all. Spanish influence on some songs sounds great... it isnt for this one.

  • unlss those other guys of the animals are there with eric burdon

  • First this isn't "his" song... Nina Simone did it first. Secondly... WTF is wrong with you?! This is a great version!!!! Fresh! Eric is Great as he has been from the beginning!

  • Greetings from Finland: GREAT!

  • hey, wait a minute!! I looked for Eric Burdon, not for a sort of piano-less Elton John!! xD

  • super bravo от песен в твоем исполнении получаешь огромный энергетический заряд super bravo bravooooooo

  • the guy with the spanish guitar, great,Burdon,i remember him 40 yers ago still good

  • Even though hes not as good as hes use to. hes betetr then alot of the older singers today.

  • I liked the earlier version better but this one actually has his feelings in it more, I think. The tempo is slower, and I like a little faster tempo, but the music quality is much improved as far as the musicians accompanying him. The Spanish guitar is interesting.

  • Thanks for the upload. My favorite version of this can be found on "Sun Secrets"

  • Grandissimooooooooooo!!!!

    Invecchiato ma SUPERBO!

  • I cannot add to favourites for some reason. Superb , as good as ever.

  • Cazzo!! Somiglia a Peppino di Capri!!?

  • to the perfectionists, this is a person still enjoying it , and not deserving any shallow criticism

  • I laughed so hard when he threw in "What the hell was that?"

  • I'm a huge fan of his earlier work...nobody can take that away. But, at this point he's pretty much a novelty act. It's like watching ozzy play. It's cool to remain in the public eye, but at some point you have to let go. Nicely done by the guitar player, shreds the acoustic but doesn't overdo it. (go ahead with the thumbs down, I know it's coming)

  • @ihatedonhenley i agree with you and posted as so. But there comes a time when you just have to quit.I want to remember him when he was on top.

  • @hussnfussel I'm a longtime Burdon fan and I remember when he was on top.

No one is on top forever. He still sounds great! Not being on top doesn't prevent him from

still being a great artist. Some great artists have never been "on top".

  • that red head woman play good mmmmmmmmmmmm

  • is this how he sounds now? i mean the music, cause they'er coming out to my work here soon and i would like to see him. this is stuff i grew up on, my dad was a huge fan and though it sound good i think it would kill it for me if they played like this if i buy tickets for the show.

just saying I mean i was four when i first heard this on vinyl............not the same as this

  • Eric went out on a limb with this one... and i heard a crack :))

  • ..........der gute Mann spricht wenigstens noch mit dem lieben Gott!.....

  • A great song by a great singer. He is 66 years old in this concert and sounds as good as he did 40 years ago, a true talent !!!

  • This is what you would call a great way to destroy a good song.

  • he is great live i wonder what happen with those 2 guy who used be with him

  • he is great live

  • i am sorry but he just F......ed a very nice original sone

  • @mikeqt100 Agreed, I love erics vocals but that song never needed to be messed with. This is ok but straight sucks compared to the original

  • hell ya :)

  • Terrible. Don't mess with a formula that works.

  • that red head she my girlfriend we are lover

  • @veryshywoman You're an idiot.

  • fucking hell, what the hell was that LOL

  • Nothing wrong with this version whatsoever. Performed flawlessly. A little change is good som, ethimes. I've heard him do this starting out like this and then going into the original version. It's great no matter what.

  • Still kicking ass at 69. Love ya Eric!

  • can you post more songs from this concert.?

  • He's been singing this song for almost 50 years now. What a far out version =)

    I likey!

  • @SixCards54 me neither LOL

  • Bad ass!!!Paula's hot as hell too!

  • @tdittyx2x3 That's why i said what i said...he murdered his own song! THE BAD WAY! The original version of the song up to date...is ORIGINAL and fresh...why would he do this?!

    Anyways...

  • WTF...how can he do this to his own song?

  • @thehornypuppy It was NEVER his own song to start with !!

  • @thehornypuppy The man's TOP SHELF, he's got the soul to take any song where he wants it to go. I just enjoy and absorb. Never question change, roll with it in a loving embrace! Rock on Eric!

    MoX~

  • @thehornypuppy You mean you expected him to do the same thing for 40 years ? Seriously lol, think again ffs...

  • @thehornypuppy he didn't write it

  • @thehornypuppy Good question. Lou Reed it does it to his stuff every day when he plays live.

  • @thehornypuppy Artists of any genre constantly re-create, revise, etc. It's a creative process that will go stagnant otherwise. I'll agree that this version is totally different than the one we are used to hearing, but by keeping an open mind one can still appreciate something new. Different does not necessarily mean bad.

  • @thehornypuppy

    it's not his song

  • love the redhead bass player, and Mr. Burdon genius, and the guitar player, wonderful!

  • Amazing voice!... simply speechless

  • Poula O´Rourke bare fede t Erik B i love you----

  • såda skal den skæres............

  • Sådan 30 års forskeld....

  • if someone likes this, it's his/her choice - I prefer the original

  • Eric looks good. He looks better than he did when he was younger.

  • ooooooooooooooh

  • ooooooooooooooh

  • a great song by a great singer, a rock n roll hall of fame inductee. He is 66 years old in this concert and sounds as good as he did 40 years ago, a true legend, may God give you health so we,ll keep enjoying your music

  • Good Lord... I love Eric Burdon!!! And I am in my mid-30's! But I love this man.

  • Excellent development of a classical piece. Elvis Costello makes a pretty good version as well... The original is always the original, but still.. if it doesn't evolve, it dies.. btw: who's the guy on the piano/synth/organ?

  • what a cool dude !!! yeeeeaaaaa what the hell was that ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ just grat dude this eric !!! i hope i will have the chance to see him live ;-)

  • Still just as good as they were in the 60's. That, of course, is the problem.

  • He's got blues for days. :D I feel so lucky to have seen him perform... absolutely amazing!!!

(Even though I was the youngest person in the audience, but that just means that everyone doesn't appreaciate talent the way I do.)

  • That is Eric McFadden, from San Francisco, on guitar. I have seen him live, several times, in the Bay Area. He is unbelievably good.

  • i refreshingly stationary performance from ol' burdy :P

  • Simply beautiful... simply amazing! Too many artists have "covered" this song... but I like this version more than anything I have heard so far. I also like it 100 times more than the original.

"Old"... is primarily a state of mind.

  • I noticed that Eric is wearing a dogtag, does any one know why??? is it a military dogtag....it caught my eye and sparked up curosity. ?: ) Rose

  • Only his name.

  • "what the hell was that!"...hilarious...this "Mister" is amazing ;D

  • what the hell was that lol

  • Супер песен, аз започнах все повече и повече любители на Ерика или музикален фен съм Queena

  • Eric looks so different, all of us are getting older and older, but his music is forever Young.

  • the 3 minute intro put me to sleep... the rest brought it back home...

  • I still like the original version better. ;)

  • yeah this is a little tweaked

  • hoooooo ... que lindo !!!

  • Joe Cocker makes this song!!! Layer Cake quality!!!

  • forgot how many good songs these guys put out in the good old days!

miss this music. wow! he looks different.

  • Nice version..., Flamenco flair with some Reggae groove..., love the way he responds to the feedback (about 2:38 into the clip); "What the Hell was that?" Too Funny!! ; )

  • I've got to agree with the two below me, this pretty much sucks, especially when compared to the original version.

  • i was very young when i loved the animals, but this is shit and nothing like the original

  • Im a huge music fan and typically have a fairly broad taste in remakes / covers and samples, but Holy Shit this is bad.

I understand the whole jazz thing, I truly understand what they were going for, but they completely missed the mark on this one.

  • LOL, how do you know?? Did you make love with him?? and what do you mean by "was"?? Don't tell me he has passed away....please.. ???????

  • it made me not like the song for the 8 minutes that it lasted...now im back to liking the original version

  • SUPERBE!

  • şarkının anasını sikmiş mına kodumun çocugu

en iyisi nina söylemiş başkasını tanımam. Sırf bu şarkıyı katlettiği için bunu taksim meydanında çingeneler siktirecen götoğlanı hala söylemeye devam ediyo at yarrağı hadi yorum bitti.

  • i liked that so much when he sang"what the hell was that?" very nice:) i like his voice! is strong!

  • horrible version, do not like it at all!

  • @Davebez01 Which version fo you like?

  • they are all such disciplined musicians

  • he fuckn sucks ass

  • I love nina simones song "feeling good" but the animals version of this song is best. It seems Eric Burdon has sung this song so many times hes looking for other ways to sing it

  • @itsaguinness R you kiddin? He sure is...but it's the best i've ever heard. That guy on the guitar...with the dreadlocks...he's so good on that thing....he's got to be a hot lover too.

  • thats sooo true!!

  • who is the chick with bass, I'm melted :D?

  • Paula O'Rourke on bass : )

  • thanks, now i see u got it on info :))

  • @igotcookiesbah

I heard that! Kind of woman I'd love to get to know better. On a different note entirely, the guy with the dreadlocks plays a badass Flamenco. As for Eric, I couldn't recognize him except for his distinctive voice. Until I heard him, I was in doubt it was him.

  • @igotcookiesbah

    dude, that is a MILF^^

  • Nina Simone is the best !

  • who cares the name of the style of this song (and many others)??? The real thing is just - itz an other cool version of a real cool song...

and by the way, itz popmusic :)

  • Gosh what a terrible version of the original and that's coming from an Animals fan. Time has not been kind to Eric Burdon's vocal chords. He knows it. That's why he performs this version which is not nearly as taxing on his voice.

  • Love Eric and the Animals, they're better than the Beatles, IMO.

  • @icegirl71388: The Beatles were a Fad (face it, they lost their credability around 1968)... E.B. was, and is, a foundation stone in the Rock&Roll Castle ... the Beatles altered and experimented while E.B. Perfected ... I am glad I caught the Beatles when they were still relevent (I was a fan back in the day) but I am gladder still that E.B. is still a working class Rocker (and so much more) ... The Animals were always better than the Beatles both artistically and viscerally.

  • who cares about nina simone, erick is da king, and the twist is flamenco not reagge, duh.

  • @pedrokahuku I say it's all Gypsy whether it's reagge or flamenco, it's Gypsy....origninates from Gypsies....beautiful.

  • everyone has their own opinion about this version, but it is Eric's song and he can play it however he want's.

  • no actually it's nina simone's song.. and even she didnt write it.

  • this song needs to be fast the classic am dm bad cover yeah sound alike

  • Love the reggae twist. Eric B will be in the groove forever.

  • @TheJascal Nina Simone is the original writer and vocalist. She is excellent compared to this guy...what was he doing?? I mean it's not that bad but the soul Nina brought and gave while she sang it is so absent with this guy.

  • @J200717 Thanks for the heads up on Nina, a great performance. While reading the wiki on her and then the song, apparently it was written by others for her to sing. To quote the wiki:

"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a song written by Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus for the singer/pianist Nina Simone, who first recorded it in 1964.

The soulful rendition by her is undeniably good, but Eric may have 'taken the tune away' like Johnny Cash did with many of his recordings.

  • @TheJascal Thank you for the heads up! I had no clue she wasn't the writer, I just assumed...(never assume). Lol @ the 'taken the tune away' statement. I have a thing about people doing over the original versions of songs, especially if it doesn't need to be tampered with. Originality is beautiful you know. I'm not saying you don't have some artists who do really great renditions of originals because there are some really great ones. I like his voice though, it's really unique.

  • @J200717 "this guy" is Eric Burdon, one of the best male rock singers of all time. The Animals, and later on, War. Show some respect. I also like Nina Simone's version. The thing is, he has to perform this song so many times, maybe he just doesn't feel it so much anymore... The studio version by the animals has a lot of feeling too...

  • @J200717

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" was written by Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus

    for Nina Simone.

  • music evolves, dont settle for the familiar, bravo mr burdon, BRAVO!

  • just dont like what he does with his own song, its like a bad cover.

  • i dont like this version sound shit

  • To the two geniuses, LOBOFETT and CAERRRR, if you took the time to read about this fine entertainer Eric Burton, you would find that he loves JAZZ. And, his music has that Jazz flavor with his old hits from so many moons ago. Educate yourselves, READ.

  • this son is more near to be flamenco do not jazz

  • this guy is eric burdon

    duh

  • Fantastic, I love he change it up, good job Eric !

  • errr... the original sound was good theres no reason to change it Mr. Burdon

  • haha... 2:30

  • ERIC BURDON die?

  • nop

  • Paula O'Rourke

  • thx

  • who's the female bassist, anyone know?

  • Paula is not with Burdon anymore, she's solo again and tours thru Spain, barcelona, i think...check her solo albums...

  • haha I lol'ed! ''what the hell was that'' sound guy having his 15 seconds of fame.

  • Brillant noise^^

  • that was a response to the sound spike, sound guy messed up caused feedback. thats what he was talking about

  • ye got that, thanks kisas :-)

  • ohh he must have sold his soul this voice stil work
