  • Coconut oil respond like butter; it clog in cold and melt in heat

  • You obviously got a serious problem. Why do you insist of making a fool of yourself by doing this youtube video? It's time be be awake and aware. learn about who you are? what you are?

you would make a great toilet brush with that brilo afro.. maybe it would shut you up also?

  • Sheesh. Get to the point!

  • ur only suppose yo use a small amount..if u put too much in ur hair will become britol and hard so next time read the directions and use only a little bit

  • "The sickness, the illness, the disease" called VERBAL DIARRHEA!

  • you are talking for the sake of talking...see a therapist....there is nothing wrong with coconut oil in your hair...and your hair looks great!

  • Wow this girl takes forever to get to the point sheesh!

  • Since I was small my mom use to make and put coconut oil in our hair, we never put it in the fridge & it worked miracles. Everything that is out there is not for u. Maybe u used to much or the weather? cause I'm from Tobago and only side effect we have is the grease running down our neck.

  • I just had to respond to see if I could help. Coconut oil will harden at any temperature below 76 degrees. It really hardens ALOT. Keep using the oil just dont use it when its extremely cold outside. Hope this helps

  • I am from India and the people here use coconut oil daily with no problem,--we are talking of a million people

  • try castro oil

  • try castro oil

  • I want to rest my head on her hair.

  • your sposed to drink it

  • That was so funny but one suggestion next time use a script !

  • I live in NJ, every winter this happens to me. No big deal. It doesn't hurt your hair, it's still good for your hair and scalp. No need to wash it out. Lol! Your hair does look great.

  • I love your hair, and i liked the video because i still have not purchased cocoanut oil so now i already know when not to use it :D or at least be cautious ;)

  • WOW!!! Honey...SMH

  • Coconut Oil has never done this to my hair and I have been using it for 2 years. Not sure what really happen but I'm sure everything was fine.

  • Use it in the summer and it wont do this.

  • Coconut oil is solid below 70 degrees and gets really hard at lower temps. I use it to set raw desserts.

  • You are not using coconut oil correctly.

  • Glad you shared that information about the coco butter oil. Your fro is simply awesome! You are five months into your fro, and looking just great!

  • Yes, coconut oil does freeze, it doesn't take 7 minutes to explain that.

  • this guy i know with bra strap length hair had many wonderful things to say about coconut oil use on his hair. he highly recommended it, as he'd just started using it. he would leave his in as a sealant, i believe, not wash it out

  • You didn't use the coconut oil correctly. To use it as a deep conditioning you can saturate your hair in the oil over night but then wash it out in the morning. To use as a daily serum you are to take barely any just enough to cover your finger tips and apply it through out your hair. A little goes a long way.

  • I love your name! what does it mean?

  • why do black women straighten their hair and put fake stuff in it. YOU LOOK AMAZING. I wish every Black woman looked like you.

  • Thanks so much for sharing that information.

  • Hilaaaaaaaaarious!!

  • coconut oil is temperature sensitive, everybody knows that silly....

  • Gorgeous!

  • You didn't wash it out before you left the house?

  • and personality

  • you have a pleasant face.

  • Maybe the oil had gotten old in the fridge??

  • this is sooo funny! you have a great attitude and personality: I subed

  • I think I had a bad coconut oil batch because mines smell like chicken grease. I don't believe it was suppose to smell like that.

  • less is more honey. and what kind of coconut was it because the kind i use melts into liquid. it does not harden into wax once rubbed in. its not like Vaseline.

  • Those who are saying coconut oil must be washed out are WRONG. While coconut oil makes a fantastic addition to a conditoning regimen it is also a great moisturizer. There are tons of vids on yt demonstrating using coconut oil as part of moisturizing & sealing. A little goes a long way.

  • @keisha1030sd You're right I been using coconut oil since fall of '07 on my hair(everyday) on my skin 3 times a week and I even take a tsp a day and it has made my hair so soft and my skin also. You dont have to wash it out plus I only use a tsp a day in my hair idk what she did or maybe some other oil in her body had a clash with it...It's best to use extra virgin organic not any kind bcuz like all other products they're are copy cats that make garbage products just to cash in.

  • The main tragedy is calling your boyfriend about your frozen hair.

  • i never wash coconut oil out im natural and my hair is 24 inches long

  • This is pretty funny... lol. It's probably not supposed to be, but it is.

  • You must wash out the coconut oil !!!! LOOOL :-))

  • lol this is soooooooooo funny

  • lol, i watched this video a year ago, and thought it was hilarious, and watching it today its still hilarious !! lmfaoooooo!!!

  • cuz u didnt wash it out girl after u use a product u suppost to wash it and put hot water so the oil come out

  • You are supposed to wash it after massaging your scalp with virgin coconut oil. It's not that you put coco oil on your hair and let it stay there. For me, I have to massage my scalp with virgin coco oil and let it stay for 3 hours before taking a bath. You need to shampoo your hair to remove the oil. I had thin hair before because of serious hair fall but thanks to virgin coco oil, my hair started to grow thicker, smoother and shinier.

  • @WENG4898 does it really work cuz my hair is falling out to and breaking out too

  • It didn't freez XD Coconut oil goes solid below 25 celsius. Cool story. ^^

  • If she wasn't so darn cute, this VIDEO would have killed me.

  • Why are you people telling her she should've washed it out?? She clearly either used too much or is protein sensitive. When coconut oil is used lightly whether daily or not it should not freeze. Coconut oil can be used several different ways in a haircare regimen and serves is very moisturizing. And for those who are rudely poking fun at her video;she clearly stated that she knows that she may have over-reacted but at the moment shock kind of took on because she never experienced that. Some of

  • @rissakai16 she is suppose to wash it out dont matter if she used too much or not

  • So like DANG this COCONUT OIL is about to ruin my perfect weight watchers meeting day...So then about 2mins later my hair is SOFT AGAIN OMG!! This isl ike soo idk weird wats happening i've only been natural for 10years and i've grown this awesome afro and i'm bout to lose it or worse die from COCONUT OIL...WARNING DO NOT USE COCONUT OIL EVER IT CAN KILL YOU OR WORSE MAKE U RECORD A VIDEO LOOKING LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT!!

  • Its like a Brillo pad omg wats happening to me am I gonna die or something? So i'm freaking out right and then I think if i should call 911 but then i decide to call my BF cuz u know i have a BF and I go to weight watchers and i ride the bus there So I'm like BABE! my hair is like running away from me and its hard as a rock babe I'm so scared i think i'm gonna die! HURRY SAVE ME I'm RIGHT HERE AT THE BUS STOP! wait idk i think im on the bus i dont even know if im coming or going

  • My hair is like OMG Soft and I'm kinda freaked out i've never had this before 0.0 so now im getting ready to go to my weight watchers meeting cuz im struggling with my weight right and so i put on this coat its huge heavy u know cuz here in Minnesota it gets cold like every year just FYI so now imm walking out to my weight watchers meeting and OMG i stopped at the bus stop wearing my heavy coat right and did this weired thing that i do like all the time I FOR NO REASON STARTED TOUCHING MY HAIR!

  • So I decided to make this video because wait! I know the title is like exaggerated but i was sitting ther and then i thought i should look at the weather like i always have to look at the weather u kno, so then i decided to walk up to the refrigerator and OMG coconut oil so i grabbed it closed the fridge and then so i started came up with this great idea to actually put the oil on my hair so then after that right i actually put the whole jar and went to bed so now its morning and WOAH

  • LOL This happened to me once. You used too much.

  • Thanks for the info. I enjoyed your video.

  • OH MY GOSH! GET TO THE FREAKING POINT! NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE WEATHER! DOES IT REALLY TAKE 3 MINS TO GET TO THE POINT?

  • I was flipping back thru the comments to see if anyone told you that coconut oil has a higher melting point than most other oils. It's about 76 degrees Farenheit. If it is colder than that, it will solidify. That's why it's really solid when stored in the refrigerator. Sorry if this is repeat info. I stopped reading the comments after reading several mean ones. Wow, people can be really mean and hateful. You just keep smiling!

  • Your suppost to wash it out lol you wash, apply coconut oil, then wash it out.

  • im thinking she used too much. i luv coconut oil in my hair but i hv to se a smidgen or its wayyyyy to oily. Now i use it as a hot oil treatment so the excess is rinsed out.

  • its only supposed to be on your hair for 30 minutes, then wash it out, lol

  • maybe you used to much. i live in pittsburgh and it get very cold and this has never happened to me. and you should wash it out!!!!

  • Funny Bad hair day! :DD The cold and oil did not mix...

  • honey, u r supposed to wash it out!!!

  • I love your energy lol

  • you should have mixed it with a carrier oil. jojoba is good

  • Comment removed

  • My stomach hurts.....lol... can't stop laughing!! crying.... because I am laughing so hard.

  • @MyAzzi305 Agreed! I'm right with you..

  • One of my fav vids of all time!! Very funny.

  • happend to me today too! lool..my relaxed hair was so stiff, but its fine now...yea its solid at colder temp

  • Hair that is protein sensitive reacts that way to coconut oils. Even in the summer my hair feels hard after I use coconut oil. This is because coconut oil gets into the hair and helps it retain its protein content. Therefore; it acts as a protein conditioner. Which for anyone that is extremely protein sensitive such as myself, is not a good thing.

  • Thats weird.

  • Funny... Thanks for sharing

  • Lol your funny...people can be so mean..love your hair..

  • This video is funny..For all the negative nancy's out there... I'm sure your comments would go further if they were just kept to yourself..this is a good video. And it will be informative for some. Just saying.

  • What the point of this video?

  • ....from what i am hearing....you put too much on....i live in NY and i have experienced that...but...i am in my twa stage...so it wasnt a big concern...

  • Brother! Yada, Yada, ,Yada - Get on with it!!

  • Aww. You are so funny! I seriously wondered about this too. I've only been using coconut oil a few months, and it's getting cooler here. I wonder if a person mixed it with jojoba, if it would solidify? Thanks for the smiles and the tip!

  • Lol sweety you got to rinse it out. It's not a real good for a leave in.

  • Your Fro looks Amazing!!

  • Lol ur so funny..u probably just put too much of the oil in ur hair is all!..it made ur curls last tho! Lol

  • hahah girl you had me laughing the entire time, that sory was so funny :) I subbed <3

  • You didn't use VIRGIN coconut oil, and that's why it didn't work. Ordinary coconut oil is highly processed, which makes it harsh and crude. Buy virgin coconut oil at health-foods stores or online. If it doesn't say virgin on the label, don't buy it. See vitaminshoppe(dot)com or swansonvitamins(dot)com.

  • i love this video, lol

  • You could have just used the heat setting on your hair dryer to re-melt the oil, it melts really fast so you would only need to heat up the oil for a minute. I put coconut oil on my hair during the winter and go outside and there is no difference, but I only put a small amount on, and I can tell that it gets absorbed really fast. I think maybe you put too much on.

  • Comment removed

  • A tad verbose.

  • that or if you want to use it outside, stick with using it during the summer time.

  • what happened is the coconut oil in your hair went solid in the cold. You could use that technique at home at night, instead of right before going out. It is great stuff, just make the most of it. Timing was not ideal in your case.

  • People are sooo harsh. When you first go natural it's about trial and error. RELAX people. She's just sharing a funny story.

  • and here you are, talking smack. again.

  • OMG my hair is frozen!! I'd say somethin like that! Lmaooo

  • I love and want your afro '(0_0)'

  • People seem so sensetive about the coconut oil crtique. Did coconut oil save ur life? Thanks for sharing ur personal experience and story. U r easy going and funny.

  • You are fun-ny! Thank you for being transparent and so easy going about what happened to you. You have a sweet spirit. Thanks for sharing.

  • i think its good to wear coconut in the winter its like a sheild from the harsh winter air

  • @BenzoMulanTM yeah its good for protect your skin too!

  • lmao yeah, this happens with tropical oils. your story is hilarious though. (;

  • Thank you for sharing! Ignore anal people! Do your thing and let the others get a life :)

  • i recently started using coconut oil again my mom use to make it when i was little and we used it alot. i have three bottles that my mom made me im so happy that i kept it.

  • Hey I just bought a bottle of extra virgin coconut oil cold press and it comes liquified, hence, its not the one that you have to melt. The brand i bought is Goshen which is a Jamaican brand. Its really good.

  • It gets hard in cold. And I also hope you used virgin organic coconut oil. That would really freak me out though!

  • luv the vid sista, keep up the great work, my whole family have been using pure organic coconut oil for over five years and what happened to u is normal, we are here in mpls,mn too, and i know what u mean, my wife said the same thing happened to her yesterday, coconut oil solidifies at colder tempertures and it will return to an oilly state once u have come into contact with warmer tempetures like when you come back in doors, frozen coconut hair is a protective hold, just a positive outlook

  • your hair is beautiful

  • I use coconut oil 365 days a year and I've NEVER had any type of problem with it in ANY weather. I only buy 100% pure CO (no added perfume or mixed oils) and fully heat the whole bottle until it liquidises before I put it in my hair so that it's fully absorbed and doesn't harden after application.

People, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH COCONUT OIL.

You seem lovely but you need to be concise!

  • By the way, the coconut tree that the coconut oil comes from is actually an indigene of Tropical climates. So it is obvious that if it hits some freezing temperature like the artics, it's going to react strange...and ofcos it froze outside. it can't really climatize in the Minnesota weather. How did it not soilidify in your fridge? So move down to Florida or LA. Original coconut oil will really love your hair and your hair will love coconut oil...Truss me...and bring your boyfriend along too!

  • Dithering...Dithering...Dithering....Why can't you just go straight to the point instead of all the side stuff like "i go to the bustop"..."i go to my boyfriend"..."Got on the bus, warm on the bus...weight watchers meeting"....do-daahdoooh...freezin weather". Girl get a grip! You can't report as an anchor or report the weather at this rate. All what you said could have been said in 2 mins not 7:15! Beware of buying fakes or products with misguiding ingredients.

  • love the afro. You go head on sista!

  • lovely hair sister, very uplifting videos!

  • at 76 degrees coconut oil turns solid, it says right on the can or jar.

  • you lier shut up!

  • Stupid video

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiiii princess, i love your video, lol funny girly :). the world needs more fun, bubbly happy smiling people and you did a wonderful job being exactly you, and i really appreciate that. I also have vids for [coconut oil for dry and damaged hair] on you tube. I was filming in the cooler weather so my coconut oil was hard. this same thing happened to me too. lol.

Any way, keep shining princess mmmwah to u ;)

  • @Sharipoo...could'nt have said it better myself. @blesbey...thanks for the heads up cause I would not have known either and I just bought a big jar of CO. Oh well, it can sit in the fridge til spring.

  • Cute video...I call those "Kelly Moments"....I would have never thought about that... thanks for sharing n educating us newly naturals...

  • You are so funny. Lol. You can't use coconut oil for sealing sweety, only for deep conditioning. You are a trip. It's ok to use just not as a sealing oil. Lol.

  • check iherb.com for cheap natural products.they have thousands.have any oils you need for very good prices.use code KEB068 for 5 $ off on your first purchase.free delivery for orders over 40 $.just take a look.personally love it

  • get to the point!

  • lol oh my goodness she is adorable

  • Huh? What are the 278 dislikes for??? What is there to hate about this video? If you don't like it, why on earth should you "waste" your time watching it? Or do you simply have a problem with her cute afro?? OMG, there are so many immature people out there! They can't even be specific about what they don't like, but it's so much easier for them to be so rude with others...hahaha! Keep doing your thing, Girl. There are people who love you, and I'm a proud member of them!! :)

  • Lol brillo pad

  • Imagine if your afro broke apart? (jk)

  • In colder weather coconut oil will solidify...if you live somewhere very cold winter will cause some challenges sis. Love the fro

  • maybe she was high

  • Since coconut oil is a fat it will turn to a solid when in colder weather and liquify in warmer weather. I think you had that reaction because when you went outside it was colder and it hardened your hair. I recommend using it as a summer product only.

  • Haha. Cute story. BTW I love your hair. I wish more African people would go natural. I think it looks better than processed hair.

  • lol this story is just too cute haha

  • trash!!.

  • Wow,some people are really cruel. She has feelings you know, just like everyone else. I guess the bullies love the internet. I love this video, and I think you are so beautiful, precious, cute, and sweet Blesbey. I am so sorry that people are being so mean. We all have a choice to treat others as we want to be treated. Please have a heart.

  • Not being rude at all but the reason it gets "hard" on your hair in the winter time is because coconut oil solidifies at low temps. It has nothing to do with how thin the oil is. I kept waiting for you to say that but you never did lol.

  • @kecola Right on! Coconut oil solidifies at below 76 degrees F. Lack of basic scientific knowledge leads to problems.

  • the problem with youtube is people like you what you/others post! it's obvious you think you're so special that what you have to say is relavant.. your situation you went on and on about is laughable. i was annoyed the whole time! i won't be back!!

  • @brkitdwn thats funny! Pot calling the kettle black for sure. Thats why its called YOUtube.... Broadcast YOURSELF....

  • Well, it's a cute story. Coconut oil is a solid at low temps, that's why it gets used as a "magic shell" for ice cream toppings. Undoubtably that's why it made the hair hard too, not because it's "watery" or the like... speaking of which, that's the most annoying thing about the video. Like is not a verb in the sense it's used here. "And I'm like, and he's like and like, like, like..." Yucky! The word is "SAID" as in, "And I said, and he said..."

  • I can understand being a little annoyed by her not getting straight to the point, but that's the reason we have back/exit buttons on this thing called the internet. There's no need to be rude and plain ole mean! What kind of people raised you all...?

  • oh my god these self-obsessed retards are putting six different types of crap on their hair every day, and we wonder why this nation is in decline. All these pigs think about is moisturing every hair from their head to their crotch to the eye hairs to the inside of their nostrils. The money and time these whores waste on this crap

  • Keep it natural darlin; love real no weave hair

  • I think you're adorable. I smiled several times and although you do talk alot it felt like I was listening to my friend tell me a story. I got the point and I will be careful of coconut oil lol. God bless!

  • cute story :-)

  • you put to much oil on!!!!!

  • You do not sound as if you are a grown woman. You sound like a teenager with a fondness of the word "like". Please grow up, it is not flattering. You went around the bush with too many words. On a positive note, the advice was welcome, and thanks.

  • its becuz coconut oil is a solid

  • Summary: If it's winter and/or you live in a cold region be cautious and aware that your hair may literally freeze when stepping outdoors. Once your indoors and it's warm your hair will revert back to it's natural state. Thumbs up so no one wastes their time watching this entire video.

  • i think you need to find coconut oil that is in an actual oil form not like a grease

  • Thanks for the tip.

  • Thanks for letting me know not to us this in the cold months. But you said way too much!

  • really? you told us your whole dang daily biography! lo! geesh! girl go get the handbook for youtube NEVER TALK THIS MUCH FOR NOTHING!

  • Youre supposed to leave it in for an hour and then wash it out..

  • Luv u girl :D

  • coconut oil is going to harden int the cold, it cool as long as it didnt turn white when it harden. lol, it happened to me and i have locs, it normal

  • Victim!!! No IM a victim for watching this dumb ass video. FUCK!!! 7 minutes I can't get back!

  • Are you seriously this stupid in real life too,,oil is oil is oil until it gets cold,,,same as butter dumb-ass!!!...STFU DUMMY WHAT A WASTE OF 7 MINUTES!!!

  • blesbey you are awesome!

  • Blesbey, are you now in Virginia? I saw someone who looks just like you outside my local Walmart and I commented on your nice natural hair. As you smiled I thought how familiar you looked but couldn't remember where I knew you from. It wasn't until I had gotten in the car that I remembered. Too late.

  • lol...from what I've heard you need to leave it in your hair overnight (with a shower cap or twist towel over your oiled hair) and then wash it out in the morning.

  • lmfao at the comments on here

  • SAVE UR SELF SOMETIME!!!---THE BIG NIGHTMARE IS COCONUT OIL GETS HARD IN COLD WHETHER SO IF YOUR A LIL BEEATCH N WILL GET AFRAID OF HARD HAIR CAUTION !! DO NOT WEAR IT IN COLD WEATHER LOL IDGAF I STILL WLL HA

  • People are so ignorant on here. I appreciated your vid. Good info..

  • this will really help come winter time - some people forget about coconut oil reverting back to its solid state when its cold. thansk for the video

  • Like come on do like you really have like a boyfriend ??? oh my gosh he must like, really like you or is a figment of your imagination???. Bro if you are real and not like living in her hair or got stuck in the oil in a snow storm, please, please tell her to shut up, please shut up. And if she does stop talking for a minute when you are around you will be a millionaire, just copy rite and patent what you did to make her shut up.
